When leaving Paris, you have two major airports to choose from–Charles de Gaulle Airport, which is sixteen miles from Paris, and Paris Orly Airport, which is less than ten miles from Paris. If you are flying out of Charles de Gaulle Airport, you can park your vehicle in the designated lot by the terminal, with short-term parking at $40 per day and long-term parking at $30 per day. Paris Orly Airport also has parking, with short-term parking at $35 per day and long-term parking at $30 per day. If you do not wish to drive, you can take the light rail system to either airport, which will drop you off at the main entrance. Both airports have several restaurant and coffee shop options available in case you are hungry.
Once you have arrived at Milan’s major airport, Milan Malpensa International Airport, you can take the Malpensa Aeroporto railway station into the city for €11. Also available for your convenience are Malpensa Bus Express and Malpensa Shuttle, which stops at the Milan Central Station and costs between €7.50 and €13. If you wish to take a taxi, services are available at the arrival terminals, costing €90 for trips to the city center. Milan’s weather can vary depending on the season. Summer temperatures remain in the 80s with hot, humid weather; whereas fall is transitional, with early fall temperatures averaging mid-70s and late fall temperatures averaging low 50s, so be sure to bring a jacket to keep yourself warm. Winter temperatures remain in the low 40s. When visiting Milan, be sure to check out its famous historical building, the Duomo, which is one of the world’s largest Gothic cathedrals, or see the amazing architectural design of a medieval castle, Castello Sforzesco.
