Flying to New Orleans

Travelers arriving in New Orleans by the Nashville international Airport will arrive at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. It is located on Airline Drive approximately eleven miles from downtown. There are many options for getting around New Orleans. Taxis cost around $33 from the airport to downtown, shuttle services can take you to and from your hotel, cars and limos are available to rent, and the Airport-Downtown Express bus system offers rides around the city for around $2 a trip. The peak time to visit New Orleans is from February to May. This includes Mardi Gras and the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Average daytime high temperatures during this time are from the low 50s to the mid-60s. The off-season is from June to September when temperatures can get extremely hot, which makes sightseeing uncomfortable. Visitors to the city will enjoy a wide variety of things to do, including touring the National WWII Museum, taking a stroll through City Park, or going shopping along Frenchman Street in the heart of the city.
