If you are in Los Angeles and looking for an adventurous getaway, Lagos is the perfect destination. Located in Southwest Nigeria in the Gulf of Guinea, off of the Atlantic coastline, Lagos is known for its shopping, music and vibrant nightlife. When you fly from Los Angeles to Lagos, your flight will last 16 to 20 hours with a layover somewhere in Europe. The Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is located just 16 miles outside of downtown LA and is easily accessed by taxi, bus or car. Attractions
Lagos' situation on the Gulf of Guinea gives it a number of popular beaches where visitors enjoy spending time. Popular beaches include Lagos Bar Beach and the man made Tarkwa Bay. Other popular attractions include the National Museum of Nigeria, the Nike Art Gallery and the array of markets within the city.
Hints and tips
Once you arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS), you will be about 30 minutes north of the center of Lagos, which you can easily get to by taking a taxi from the airport. Taxis are generally the most efficient and safe way to get around town as the roads can be confusing and traffic is very heavy. Lagos tends to be very rainy from April through July and October through November. Outside of this, the weather is relatively dry.
