The stay at Red Lion was okay. The surrounding areas were a little run down - not exactly what I was expecting. The restaurant on-site was closed, and the bar and grill staff were less than friendly. They had free pool the night that we stayed, so it was pretty busy. I wouldn't stay here again.

The staff were very nice and accommodating, unfortunately, the room itself was dirty and very cramped. I had two kids under six and was provided a baby cot for one, which I appreciated, but it was dirty. It was supposed to have a kitchenette but it was really just a sink with a tiny counter. Coffee maker and kettle were there but I had to wash the cutlery before I used it and the cupboards were mucky. Better suited to a one night stay for people going to the bar downstairs. Very cheap for Victoria, but I think for a small family it's worth the extra money for the space and comfort.

This hotel deserves consideration…

We stay at this hotel often. It is a really good value, centrally located and comfortable. I believe that all times have kitchenettes. All rooms look up-to-date. Most views are of streets and parking lots—not too scenic. There is a great Chinese Restaurant in the hotel as well as a pub and lounge. I highly recommend this hotel.

It was a great place to stay. Staff was fantastic. Was upgraded to a suite with no charge. Was a pleasant treat. Great location. Bed were comfortable and room was clean. All in all great stay.

Cheaper hotel but you get what you pay for. Adjoining room with living room and kitchenette had no windows and was so hot and stuffy (in March). We opened the window of the other room fully to air it out but traffic was so loud and smoke blew in from folks smoking outside. Hideabed was unbearably uncomfortable.

For the price you pay, you can't ask for more. The hotel entrance and lobby look worn down, but the hallways and rooms are actually nice. The staff is amazing, and the overall cleanliness is very well-kept. The best thing was the kitchenette area because when you are with kids, you can simply make anything for them. Plus there are plenty of nearby restaurants that you can order in or walk into. I will definitely stay again when I'm in victoria.
