Perfect location for walking to everything downtown. Great restaurant attached to hotel. Nice to have breakfast there. Room was pretty small but comfortable.
Liked the breakfast included, ran out of toilet paper as we were getting ready in the morning and approaching checkout time
We stayed at the Strathcona for 2 nights in June 2019. It's an old, distinguished hotel situated very close to Victoria's Inner Harbor (about 2 blocks from the Empress Hotel) on the waterfront and within easy walking distance of the older parts of the city and Chinatown. There are many restaurants and pubs downstairs and close by. The rooms have high ceilings and large windows. Our bathroom was small and there is one elevator, but the staff were friendly, and we loved this place.
great customer service! the room clean and comfortable.
I love the place and location. Unfortunately, I was given a room by the elevator, which I didn’t think would be a problem on a Thursday, but it went all night with drunk, screaming people shouting down the hall and alot of young partiers per room. Then the construction workers started early across the hall. That was expected since I booked through Orbtiz though. So, great place, people, food if you want to be up all night but not if your older and/or have a job.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice continental breakfast. Best deal altogether.
First time in Victoria and we loved the hotel and the staff are so helpful. We will definitely stay there again
Centrally located.Staff was helpful . The included breakfast was adequate. I will return to this hotel.
Centrally located, near all downtown destinations, but the property is old. They take good care of it, and have upgraded a number of features, such as heavy doors with electronic locks. The elevator is adequate. We expected a room with at least one queen bed, but the room had two doubles. The bathroom featured a full tub, with an old showerhead. The best feature of this somewhat historic establishment is its location -- not on Government Street, where all the tourists and noise are found, but a block away. There is a breakfast, but it is definitely a "continental" style, with fruit, juices, toast, pastries, yogurt and cereal.
Good location, spacious room, adequate breakfast, efficient check-in
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Rooms are very basic and dated. The hotel is adjacent to 3 bars and a disco, making it very loud on the weekends.
Great. Perfect location. Serve tea coffee water at the lobby. Super convenient
We only stayed for one night but we had a great time. I like how it was close to everything so it made it easy to walk around the town. I also enjoyed the “hillbilly bar” that’s attached to the hotel.
Very clean room with nice amenities (fridge, microwave, kettle, dishes), large and comfortable space. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Good location. Got a quiet room at back of hotel.
