The cottage accommodation is fantastic

The cottage is absolutely perfect for a family. 2 queen bedrooms plus 2 pullouts in the living room. Stunning floors and furniture. Private parking pad. Quiet and spacious - fantastic.

Our stay at James Bay was excellent. When I booked I knew it was conveniently placed. However, once here I realised just how brilliantly it was placed to access the harbour, the museum, fisherman's wharf, Beacon Hill Park etc etc. We stayed in a suite with a small kitchen. This was attached next door to the hotel. The restaurant and bar at the Inn are both convenient and offer plenty of variety on the menu. All the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend this historic hotel.

This was our second time to stay at the JBI. It’s a charming older property that is located in a quiet neighborhood, but still within walking distance to the harbor and much of Victoria. Our room was fairly small, but very cozy and quiet. Everything was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The property doesn’t have a lot of the amenities that you expect in newer hotels, but we had everything we needed for our brief stay.

Such a cute inn! Amazing property with beautiful old-style yet still quite clean. Staff was super friendly and the restaurant and pub was great too and pretty affordable. Definitely recommend if staying in the area.

Great hotel for the money.

Great location, car park was big and spacious. Reception were excellent, really helpful and full of good advice - especially the guy with the exceptional beard! Hotel is a little tired but has lots of original features. The bar is lively and is well used by licals and rhe restaurant did great breakfast options. All the major downtown sights are within 15-20 minutes walk. Excellent value for money. One word of warning, the horse and carriage rides clip clop their way right past the front of the hotel so if you are a light sleeper you might request a room at the back.

My wife and I have stayed at over 25 hotels in Victoria since 1997. The James Bay Inn is my favorite. The staff members are friendly and helpful. The rooms are well-maintained, spotless, and inviting. The Inn is three leisurely blocks from the Inner Harbor. The Inn is located in the leafy green section of the city with tree-lined streets and beautiful flower gardens. It is a quiet and calm location where you can sit and relax and enjoy the scenery. It is quaint, charming, eclectic, and fun. Roy and Hedy personalize your stay with thoughtful comments and insights.
