Pereda the Location with quick train access
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be visiting again in the future. Setagaya was a wonderful place to stay, with something new to explore everywhere we turned. The access to the main train stations really helped us get our money’s worth, with the train passes we had!

Great spot to jump off from and explore Tokyo. Close to transit with a number of cool neighbourhoods in close proximity. Would recommend staying here to anyone coming to Tokyo looking for a clean space where they can plan their days from.

Tiny retreat in a big City!
As a solo traveller and a first time visitor to Japan, this small and cozy ground floor appt was perfectly located to explore the vast City of Tokyo. It's easily accessible to the metro and buses for exploring day and night and quiet and comfortable for re-charging and planning. I particularly enjoyed the local neighbourhood of Yoga and found some great little eateries and delis nearby. I found everyone to be very friendly and helpful, it was a wonderful experience!

Tiny, tiny,tiny
Location was terrific, very handy for station. Property was extremely small though, really should be described as a room. Bathroom was so small as to be very uncomfortable to use. Overall the property was dusty, had not been cleaned recently and there were no sheets for the loft bed.

Nice neighborhood abode
This place is small but cute. I didn’t sleep in the loft because it was too high and there were no safety rails but the futon couch worked great.
Neighborhood is quiet. Tons of places to eat around. A very quick walk to the station. Grocery store nearby. The train takes about 10 minutes to Shibuya. Easy to also get to Yokohama and that direction if you change trains.
Some things that weren’t in the listing that were a happy surprise: first, there is coin laundry nearby. The washer works great in the apartment but sometimes clothes need a good drying. Second, there is a sento (traditional public bath) down the street. The bath setup in the apartment is tight and it was great being able to go to the sento to stretch out. The neighborhood ladies are amazingly friendly and it was a great experience. There is a second sento on the other side of the station, about a ten minute walk. It was also very nice. Third, there are actually quite nice temples within walking distance of the apartment. The local temple you will pass is beautiful, but if you walk the other direction, you can get to jokoji temple, which has the lucky cat statues. And there are other shrines and temples in that area. It was a nice afternoon walk (but you can definitely find a bus as well).
The pocket WiFi provided by the host was nice for internet as we walked around Tokyo. It was touchy (I had to refresh it periodically to work as we were out and about) and it didn’t get good reception on the apartment however.
Overall the place was great, albeit very small. Absolutely fine for one person, tight for two.

Cute little space in Yoga
Easy to find cute apartment, perfect for one or a close friendly 2. Fold out couch on 1st floor, small sleeping loft above.
Great location. Great for walking around and exploring. Terrific train connections to Shibuya. One stop farther, large Japanese shopping mall with movie theater
A perfect retreat! Thanks Robert, Kumina & Tyler

Nice Area, Good Value and Good for Solo Traveler
Robert the host did a great job of communication every step of the way and helped with any questions I may have. It's a cozy little place with a loft, which I had no use for since I was by myself.
For my purposes, I came home to sleep and was back out to Tokyo each day, so I can't really speak for all the amenities. This place served my purpose and slept well with no issues. The bathroom is a little tight, which is not uncommon in Japan. Clean blankets, towels and sheets were provided along with portable wifi. There was also a couple of complimentary beers waiting in the fridge which was nice after a full day of walking. I was able to google the remote for heat/A/C unit, but may want to have a english translation available.
A bit of an issue finding the place as Google or Apple Maps may think you are still underground (not uncommon anywhere in cities in Japan). Best to reset your starting point after walking away from train station. I would suggest some landmarks to future guests who may need it such as "across from Thai restaurant" or a "block from 7-Eleven/Lawson 100 store". Once I found the building Robert did have his associate or friend Tyler there and he saw me wheeling luggage and showed me to the apartment. From that point on, zero issues navigating and it really is a short walk to train station that has many restaurants, shops there including a Starbucks.
This is a very Japanese town, which I think adds to the charm and lots of restaurants there that I simply didn't have time to try. Don't look for much English (like Shibuya or other tourist areas), which again I liked though I don't know Japanese, but may not work for some. You get to see more of a working suburb here. This is a 15-minute train ride to Shibuya and connects well with other subway lines or train lines.
So if you are looking for a good value or location, you can't go wrong here. Thanks again to Robert and Tyler for your help.

Very contemporary and cosy little apartment space, perfect for a small group!
Robert’s apartment was a great space for our small group to stay whilst we were in Tokyo. We loved the decor and layout of the apartment, along with the little amenities he provided. It’s not a large space, so it’s perfect for smaller groups who are travelling. We would have liked the area to be more clean, such as with the loft above, the blankets provided felt like they needed to be washed after the previous guests. Robert himself was very accommodating and attentive to our needs, his responses were fast and prompt. Communication and check-in was a smooth process. Overall, we would definitely recommend staying here!
