This has become our favorite place to stay in Morro Bay. It is small, comfortable, nicely appointed, and the location cannot be beat. One short block from the shops and restaurants along the Embarcadero. Easy walk around downtown. Across the street from Dorn's Breakers Cafe, our favorite restaurant. Manager is friendly and hires good people. The view rooms are upstairs, but beware there's no elevator. If you want something casual, not too expensive, with a great location, the Landing is it!

Weekend get away

House keeping did fine job cleaning the room and grounds. Some things in the room were in poor condition. Although we were told no pets (which was fine with us) there was a small dog that was barking in a room below us. Not all rooms have an un-obstructive view, but the view of Morro Rock is impressive. The 3 door system for the room was very nice to View Morro Rock, but the black out shades was not fitted well, the room was very bright at night. Older property, very thin walls and floor/ceilings activity in adjacent rooms very audible. Very accessible to everything Morro has to offer. Dorn’s Restaurant always good and the Rock espresso Bar is a must visit for morning coffee and pastry.

We rented a 3rd floor room with a fireplace. We got there and were told we had a 2nd floor room with an ocean view. We were told the third floor rooms were a premier ocean view. So we got the bait and switch. Then after being there a day they decided to tear the parking lot and the roof apart. We left a day early. We have stayed there many times over the years and will not stay there again.

Great location, thin walls!

The area was perfect location; within walking distance of restaurants and shops and a great view of Morrow Bay. Our stay was great, however, thin walls make for an uncomfortable sleep, could hear our neighbor snoring and cell phone vibrate for morning alarm. Room air conditioner is very loud, had to have tv on full volume to hear it. I would stay here again though because of its location. I’ll just remember to bring the ear plugs!

Everything was nice and clean, wonderful views of the ocean and Morro Rock. I would like to see maybe a light continental breakfast included but other than that the hotel is in walking distance of shops and close to dinning.

We had a great time here the only downside was, there was no elevator and our room was on the third floor. But loved the scenery from our room and the fact that everything was in a walking distance. We would stay here again no questions asked.

The good: The staff was friendly, bed comfy, room clean, location was great, super walkable to shops and dining. The bad: No air conditioning, no windows in room to allow fresh air (staff provided fan when asked), tv volume would not go higher than 15, shower gel made out skin really itchy.

Room is clean and spacious. Hotel is very convenient, easy walking distance to the waterfront shops and restaurants where we saw a happy sea otter grooming herself in the water. Black out shades were not sufficient to cover edges so there was some light coming through. The bed and pilows are comfortable. The sink in the bathroom is small. For breakfast we walked to a local coffee shop a block away and the coffee was excellent. We enjoyed our stay.

The room was clean, the AC is a portable unit and was loud. I reserved an ocean view but their magnolia tree was in our view. The shower has amazing pressure.
