The Port Inn is a nice option when in Portsmouth. Was clean, beds comfy and a short drive to downtown. Breakfast was typical continental with many choices. We did not use the pool as the weather did not cooperate. Overall nice, low key stay
I stayed here because it was close to the hospital. It was very clean, they offer a nice breakfast, and the beds were comfortable. All in all, a good place to stay.

Loved the location of this property, conveniently located right off of the highway. The staff was very friendly and the front lobby had a very accommodating coffee/beverage/"grab and go" -esque station. The room was spacious and the bathroom had more than enough travel toiletries if needed. I forgot my toothbrush and toothpaste and there was one actually there; the first place I had been to that had a spare in the room. The bed was not super comfortable. But as were only there for a night, it served it's purpose. That being said, if you are looking for a quiet place in downtown Portsmouth, spend the extra money and go closer to the water. The room was well stocked and comfortable but the AC shut on and off frequently through the night and when it was off I could hear the traffic (as it was conveniently located next to the highway) as well as my neighbor constantly going in and out of their room at all hours. I think if you intend to commute and are a traveller this is a great hotel. However, if you intend to go into the heart of Portsmouth, spend a little more money and hit a hotel closer to downtown. Otherwise, great hotel for the price and location, if I were in need of a passing by commutable place. Staff and excess accommodations were a 5/5.
We arrived and checked in, then immediately back out. The room was filthy, unidentified splatter across the wall and lamp, all surfaces sticky and dusty, carpeting so soiled that we didn't want to put our bags down. We ended up leaving and spending almost $500 to get a same day room on the weekend at another hotel. I was informed when we checked out that I wouldn't be charged. However I WAS charged, for more than the invoice amount. I have attempted to contact management with no result.
The staff was uniformly helpful and friendly ranging from the concierge to the house staff. The rooms were comfortable and extremely clean. Just as importantly, the inn has an excellent location close to Portsmouth and the main roads.
