The room is nice and clean. What was surprising and unpleasant was having to have $146 held for incidentals from my checking account, $10 more than I had already paid for thr room. When i asked how much the hold would be, the perdon at the desk said "I think about $30", $146 is quite a bit more than $30. If I had known the room for 1 night would tie up that much, I would have stayed someehere else.

The first room we got was so inconvenient. The tv was not watchable from the bed. The door almost hit the toilet and you had to turn sideways into even get it the bathroom. They have a storage closet in the entry of the bathroom thereby reducing counter space by the sink. But mostly it reeked of old cigarette smoke. It was clear in the back of the hotel with no elevator. They have no elevator anywhere so you have to pack your bags up steep stairs. The front desk guy claimed they didn’t have any other kings however when I complained so much the next morning about the smoke smell they eventually found us a different king room. Once we got through there hassle of moving our room was good. Breakfast was just so so. Food was all cold. Parking lot and sidewalks were slow to get shoveled making it very hazardous. No desire to ever stay there again.

We visit Pierre often because our relatives live nearby, and this was the nicest stay we’ve had. I’m not sure why we hadn’t stayed here before! The lobby was welcoming, the rooms were clean, and the pool and hot tub were very enjoyable. The staff was friendly and quick to help with anything we needed. Pierre isn’t a huge town, but there were plenty of places to eat close to the hotel, which was convenient. We happened to stay during a Christmas market and it was such a fun way to end our trip we’ll definitely be coming back soon. This will be our go-to hotel from now on.
