The hotel feels quite dated, and unfortunately the photos look much better than the reality. The swimming pool did not seem clean enough and there was a noticeable chlorine smell. The Gymboree is only available once a day, and any additional time requires an extra fee. At one point during our stay, we couldn’t find clean towels anywhere in the hotel. We were also told that takeaway coffee cups aren’t available every day when we asked for coffee to go. Another thing to be aware of is the hotel’s location on a very steep hill. We didn’t mind the walk, but it can be quite challenging when staying with children.

My family and I just spent four incredible nights at the Novotel Kata Avista Resort and Spa, and I cannot recommend it enough. We were traveling with our two children (ages 6 and 8), and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. We stayed in Room 501 on the 5th floor, which had a beautiful view overlooking the beach. Our arrival was made special by May, who escorted us to our room and ensured we were completely comfortable from the moment we checked in. Since we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, the staff went above and beyond by decorating our room to mark the occasion—a thoughtful touch that made our stay so special. For families, this resort is a gem. We made great use of both kids' areas; they were fantastic for keeping our children entertained and gave us parents some much-needed relaxation time. The breakfast spread was excellent throughout our stay, and we also had the opportunity to book a private Thai cooking class, which was a really enjoyable experience for the whole family. The amenities made everything convenient. We loved the shuttle service to Kata Beach—they provided beach towels and flip-flops, so we didn't have to worry about packing extra gear. The outdoor showers by the pool were also a great feature for cleaning up after a beach day. What truly set this stay apart was the service. Nice variety of foods available on the buffet breakfast. Nice pool, complete with swim up bar. A separate kids pool with slide, and water park. Room was comfortable, with nice size balcony looking out over the pool area, with the ocean in the distance. Close enough to two different beaches and town, for walking.

The rooms were spacious, clean and cool. Only slight issue was the beds were a bit firm. The staff were absolutely amazing! Nadear and Jayden on the front desk were absolutely fantastic, helpful, friendly and welcoming. The buffet breakfast was really good. Apple and the other restaurant and bar staff were so so good, amazing with the kids and really made the stay pleasurable. We will be back

We had food poisoning after eating dinner at the En Vogue restaurant. We had massaman curry for dinner on 14th Nov’25 at the restaurant and fell sick. We filled out an allegation form that was handed over by the restaurant to complete and submit. We submitted the form at the hotel reception but haven’t heard back anything since. Otherwise, we had a good experience overall. Thank you

Amazing resort! The hill to climb to the hotel is a bit of a butt burner but they do have a shuttle available. The hotel is close to the beach and Kata night market. Staff were truly amazing!

The staff is excellent- friendly, helpful, and hardworking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel for its delightful staff, comfortable rooms, outstanding, relaxing landscape, great pool, and OUTSTANDING FOOD! This was our 11 breakfast buffet on a six-country trip and chef Naveen’s food was a standout and one of the best we had on our journey. The hotel is situated just a short walk from beautiful Kata beach or you can catch the hotel shuttle to make the short trip. I liked the location for being close to the shops but not being quiet and calm.
