We stayed at the Shore for 6 nights in Room 8803. The Shore at Katathani was wonderful in every way! Everything was spot on from the airport shuttle, the check-in process, golf cart rides to and from our room, and breakfast in the morning. All the staff we encountered were very polite and hospitable. Our Seaview Pool Villa had a stellar view of the Kata Beach. The room was equipped with everything we needed during our stay, from a beach bag, mosquito repellent spray, toiletries, and a safe to keep our valuables in. The little touches made our stay worth it (especially the little treats that were provided during turn down service. We utilized the bluetooth speakers in the room/bathroom, which was a great touch! We were able to enjoy fireworks one night, which was amazing! We felt very safe in the area as the area around the beach had security. There is a 711 store just down the street where you could either walk or ask for a ride. We were literally steps away from the beautiful beach. The staff were very prompt with all the requests we had. The staff organized and booked all our tours, and provided us with a private driver for a full day of sightseeing (Big Buddha, Temples), shopping and checking out the night market! Thank you to Diana, Noah, Charlotte, all the restaurant staff, housekeeping staff and the buggy drivers! We definitely enjoyed the resort and the staff did an amazing job! We will be back! We love the Shore!
What a stunning view, hillside bungalows really very stylisch, furniture wet rooms everything perfect, and if your decision is to take a bungalow up the hillside, you view out of your bed is amazingly overlooking katathani beach! Very ambiguous breakfast with table service if you like, easy access to the beach ... This resort is by far not cheap but every bath is well deserved!
As the most expensive stay on our trip and the newest of the rooms, I had high expectations of The Shore. Sadly I was disappointed. Let’s start with the positives though: *The new romance Rooms are lovely and the view from those rooms is spectacular! *Buggy service and reception staff were excellent and always very helpful and prompt *The fact that you can use the amenities at Katathani Beach Resort plus the proximity to Kata Noi shops etc adds to the success of the hotels location. *the on-site spa was quite good and reasonably priced compared to other 5 star resort spas. *for the inconveniences we experienced the hotel provided a 30% discount on food and bev Bill on checkout Now for the not so greats: *Checkin took an hour and a half. And then we got a convoluted message about getting an upgrade as they were aware it was a special visit (it wasn’t). We were happy to deal with delay although a bit frustrated by constant changes to the time delay but when we were placed into the Harbour restaurant to have tea and coffee while we waited, staff made us feel like an inconvenience. We later learned the hotel was delayed in renovating rooms and had overbooked. *our upgrade was a joke. Sure - it’s a more expensive room. Without the views we paid for, without the double shower and large romance bathtub, without the infinity edge pool off a deck looking at the view and with a poor renovation to an obviously old part of the hotel. I cracked it and we were quickly moved to the room we paid for (which was very lovely). *we experienced 3 significant maintenance interruptions in a four day stay within our room *on 3 occasions staff entered the room without knocking and on the last occasion I had just gotten out of the shower and wasn’t dressed - to find a man standing in my villa! *Room service food quality was very poor. *the breakfast buffet was something I see regularly at 4 star business hotels - not a 5 star resort experience. Not to mention my husband received literally raw eggs after asking for hard boiled. I was nearly ill at the table as he “scooped” them into toast. That was the end of that breakfast! *Staff at the Harbour were atrocious and more concerned with chatting amongst themselves than serving customers, clearing plates or offering (or responding to requests for) another coffee. *general level of staff attentiveness was just not what I expect from 5 star. Finding that the staff also service the next door, lower rated property was not a surprise. Really - if you want amazing views in a very pretty (if not very private) villa then this may be for you. But if you want 5 star with the full experience, this is not the place. There are many amazing resorts of a lower price point with a much higher service level in Phuket - see my other local hotel reviews. And on a final note - I suggest to management that upon reading this review, take it as an opportunity for improvement. Most responses that the Shore posts on trip advisor tend to place blame on guests or make excuses. Own the issues and feel free to prove my review wrong for the next guest.
We stayed here for 3 nights hotel hopping on a 3 week stay in Phuket. The hotel is not cheap but I believe fantastic value for money. The service is second to none the staff are friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel. The rooms are amazing with every everything you would expect, even down to the built in Bluetooth speakers so you can stream your music from your phone. A big shout out to Sven the General Manager who is one on the nicest GM’s you will meet very funny guy. If you’re looking for a romantic few days then I would highly recommend The Shore to anyone who wants to get away from the busy nightlife of Patong and just chill out. Thanks Sven the hotel is a credit to you. must bring the wife next time !!!
I wanted to write a review even though we didn’t stay here. And here’s why: We booked 4 nights at the shore, and they were still under construction so they were unable to fulfill our booking. To stay true to their standard of excellence, they upgraded us to a high end hotel with the same type of room for the same 4 nights, included a welcome gift, as well as a free dinner. We were personally called by the manager at the shore, where they were extremely sorry that they could not provide us with their services. Now I want to personally thank them for making the transition to the other hotel not just seamless, but better than we could have ever imagined. This was our honeymoon and they did not disappoint. Sven, the manger, truly strives for a standard of excellence and my wife and I want to thank him for all he did for us. If this is how they treat guests that can’t stay at their residences, then I can only imagine how they treat guests that can. 5 stars, 5 stars, 5 stars.
We stayed here for 4 nights while in Phuket. Easily one of the best hotels we’ve ever been to. Staff is excellent and friendly. The rooms are complete relaxation and comfort. What’s better than hopping of if bed in the morning and opening your bedroom door in order to take a dip in your personal pool?
We stayed in this property almost 6 years ago and had beautiful memories here. So we decided to revisit again our experience. The resort is fully booked so unfortunately we cannot get sea view pool villa this time... but if you can get it, I would recommend to get it... it is a beautiful experience! The resort is elegantly designed, and pretty well kept over the years. There are some new additions, there is a new lobby building, and the old lobby is now a spa. They also added one more restaurant, Param Para. Villa booking will include breakfast buffet every morning, which is nice... with prosecco (yes, in the morning!), and changing menu every day which you can order (not on the buffet). I also like the fact that the breakfast hour ends at 11am, giving us enough time to spend an hour before that at the gym, which is overlooking the sea. If I could give one suggestion, maybe they can add more Asian flare to the breakfast buffet. The demographic might be such that there are more Caucasians vs. Asians here, but there are plenty of Asian food which could be enjoyable by international visitors alike. Privacy is number one here. There are not that many guests crowding the main pool as most of them would confine themselves at their own villa pool. Please note that the resort also does not allow kids, which might be appreciated by those looking for serene or romantic stay. Very good for couples! Service is generally fast. Once you call for buggy, it will arrive in matters of minutes. On the first night the lighting outside our villa was not working, and it took them only one day to fix it and we have everything working the next day. Overall, beautiful experience... definitely would come back here again!
The shore is not the cheapest hotel in town , but if you can stretch to it you got to go . The villas have there own infinity pool that is very private. The resort is very nice with an additional communal pool overlooking the beach . There are tv programs in English including films. The breakfasts are magnificent. Nothing is to much trouble for the staff, freshly cooked to order. Prosecco , fresh fruit, french cheese’s along with just about everything you can think off. The villas are set on a steep hillside to give privacy and a good view, if you call reception a buggy is with you within a few minutes to take you back and forward. The staff could not do more for you. The in house gym has a great view. The restaurant is nice but quite expensive. You can go elsewhere for food the buggy will drop you of at a local restaurant without any problem Push out the boat if you can , you will not regret it
We spent 4 nights at the Shore and the experience was perfect from the moment we were picked up at the airport, couldn’t have asked for more. Highlights include the spectacular view from our bed, the villa pool (which I spent half my time), spacious and well laid out villa 💕, beautiful staff, 5 star service, food (particularly loved the afternoon tea -nice touch) and peaceful location at the end of Kata Noi Beach. Highly recommend.
