Katathani Phuket Beach Resort is one of the best choice for family, especial for the kids or the elder. We stay in the hotel for 7 days, It locates very much near the beach, soft sands, clean andaman sea, very nice view and clean big room. Breakfast is Western-style, plentiful. lunch and dinner has 6 restaurant to choose, I prefer the buffet dinner. Staying at Katathani is comfortable for my family.
We only stayed at this resort for a short while, but it was amazing. The beach view during breakfast was something I’ll never forget. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The sunset at the beach was picture perfect. I would definitely recommend this resort to others.
Loved the Katathani Resort and it’s location right on the beach. Although the resort is big and it was fully booked while we were there we never felt that it was crowded. There are so many pools that you never have trouble finding a bed and umbrella. Good selection for breakfast and lovely location looking over the beach. Room was modern and spacious with a balcony. Friendly helpful staff.
Last summer, our family stayed at Katatani Phuket Beach Resort for several days. Overall, we were quite satisfied with the facilities that the resort offered. 1. Room We booked a grand deluxe room in Bhuri Wing. Although we can only see the garden, the room was clean, spacious and reasonable price to use for 4person. (including 2 children and breakfast during our stay.) 2. Pool and Garden and entertainment facilities What we liked most about the resort were their pools and garden. They have 5 or 6 pools and you can select and enjoy swimming as you like. One out of the pools was for only adults and one of pools provides mildly warm water. The resort has huge area and you can take a walk along side beach and the garden. You can also use several inside/outside activities like mini golf putting, chess, dart, video games and snookers. 3. Restaurants and pool side bars We had breakfast buffer and used seaside bars at the beach and another pizza restaurant. The taste of the restaurants.. I wouldn't say it was good but mind that there are not many options near the resort. 4. Service We were very disappointed by their service level. Form check-in to restaurant, they were not polite at all. The most shocking place was the restaurant serving breakfast. A guy (named Na---thong at egg station) showed unimaginable rude manner to the guests especially Asian. Strange thing was he was a bit kind to Western residence.
We recently visited Thailand for our honeymoon and spent 8 nights at Katathani. Absolutely loved everything, the staff were all amazing, and went over and beyond, including "happy honeymoon" cupcakes on arrival. Our room was very clean, comfortable bed, and the shower pressure...best ever! We had almost direct access to the pool from our room, which was awesome. We ate at all the restaurants, including a candlelit dinner, couldn't fault anything. We received daily massages as part of our package, they were also amazing. The only issue we had was on departure, they confirmed with us they had a car picking us up. We waited in reception on check out for 1 hour, on following up with staff, they said no car was booked and to get a taxi. Other than this, we will be back. Loved every minute of our stay. Can't wait to return with the family.
I had visited this hotel 30 years ago when it was a small boutique hotel on a spotless beach with virtually nothing around it. Though I knew it had changed to become a large resort hotel I was looking forward to returning, having read great recent reviews. We were however very disappointed. We had just come from the Ramada Hotel in Khao Lak which had a similar star rating. Despite this being considerably less expensive, the standard of accommodation and service level at the Ramada was far superior. We had booked a Junior Suite in the more expensive and, supposedly, better Thani Wing. Our room was unacceptable for a 4.5 star hotel. It was tired, smelled musty and damp and the bathroom was in need of a total renovation. After requesting several times to be moved we were finally upgraded to an Ocean View suite which was much better but would not have offered value for money had we paid the full price. We were also surprised at the poor service level offered by the hotel, way below that standards we have come to expect for a hotel in Thailand of this star rating. The reception staff also spoke very poor English which led to a number of misunderstandings. We had read that the beach was lovely which indeed it was at dawn and dusk when the hoards of people that arrive every day have left. What is not highlighted is that it is a public beach and because of its soft sand and clear sea water attracts many other tourists not staying in the hotel, who arrive in droves on their motor bikes. Perhaps the hotel was good a few years ago, but the accommodation now needs a serious upgrade and management needs to address the service levels. There is a great Water Park in the Bhuri Wing across the road, lots of choice of pools, which get full of kids, and safe swimming in the sea, so for families it may be more acceptable but I would not recommend this hotel for couples.
Spent 9 nights at a the Katathani in January, the hotel is right on the beach. It is split into two wings, the Thani wing where we were which is the beach side and the Bhuri which is across the road. We had a room on the third floor at the very end of the block so had easy access to both the Thani and Bhuri wing amenities. The room was nice, a bit tired but this didn't impact our stay. Beds were comfortable and there was a sofa bed for our daughter. Plenty of room for the 3 or us. There are numerous pools within the complex we tended to use the pool nearest the beach which had 3 slides. Plenty of sun beds available, there were a lot of sunbeds which had towels on for the duration of the day and nobody came back to them which was annoying and something should be done about this. The hotel provide beach towels which are changed daily. There is also an excellent kids pool in the Bhuri wing. Breakfast was nice, good choice. Does get very busy so time it wisely. The hotel is at the end of a road, there are a couple of restaurants opposite the hotel. We ate in the restaurant directly opposite the reception area a couple of times and food was really good. Taxi's and Tuk Tuks can be picked up outside the hotel for trips to Kata, Patong, Phuket Old Town etc. We tended to get a taxi as far as Dino Park in the evening, walk back towards the hotel and then get a tuk tuk home. Very reasonably priced. There is a 7 11 opposite which was cheaper than the on site mini market and we also had all our laundry done at one of the other little shops. When we arrived at the hotel our daugther wasn't well. There is a doctor on site between 10am and 12pm. We took her to the doctor the first morning we were there and he diagnosed tonsilitis and provided us with medication. This was just billed to us at the end of the stay. They provided a medical certificate so it could be claimed back from the insurance. Was so glad of this service as my daughter was feeling so much better after her first dose of medication. All in all a lovely place to stay, especially with children.
This hotel is right on the beach. It has good services and friendly service attitide. Nice variation of tourists. Recommendation! One of the best places in Phuket area. Very clean hotel and pools. Beach towels, bath robes etc. Provided with no additional charges.
This was our second visit to Katathani, this time visiting with extended family. We originally visited in October 2018, my detailed review can be found here: https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/ShowUserReviews-g7847985-d540134-r616355506-Katathani_Phuket_Beach_Resort-Kata_Noi_Beach_Karon_Phuket.html Not a lot has changed in the last few months...the staff are still extremely friendly, the facilities are very well appointed, and the rooms are very comfortable. We would highly recommend Katathani as a family friendly very well appointed resort. The office manager Leiyla is fantastic and very knowledgeable...goes out of her way to make guests feel welcome.
2018 seen our second stay at Katathani. This year we spoiled ourselves with a Grand Suite in the Thani wing, and enjoyed every moment of it. The grounds are kept exceptionally well, facing probably one of the best beaches in Phuket, which is kept sparkling clean by the resort team. The meals, service and overall experience for our family was nothing short of brilliant. We’ll be sure to visit again!
