We just returned fron 9 days in the Centara Grande, it was one of the best holidays we could have been on! From the hotel, food, beach, cleanliness, and staff, just fabulous😁 Definately returning, and definately would recommend 😁
We have just returned from a 9 night stay at this resort. The hotel grounds are stunning and well kept. There were always maintenance crews painting and tending to the gardens. So many water dragons and water monitors around the property. The water slides/pools were great for bug and little kids. My only suggestion is that there needs to be music played around the pool. The only time it was played was when the aqua aerobics was on. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and a special mention to July at the Lobby who was aways happy to help. We requested extra towels, coat hangers and an iron/ironing board and they were delievered within 10minutes. The breakfast selection is nothing short of amazing. So much variety from indian curries to an asian noodle station and omelette station, cereals, fresh fruit, pasteries and sweets and the list goes on. We also ate at the italian restaurant, room service and from the pool menu which were both great. Prices were more expensive than in town but not more than what you would expect. We ate at the restaurant twice for lunch where breakfast was service (I cant remember the name) and found it disappointing. Meals and drinks were forgotten on both occasions and had to be asked for a number of time before being brought out. In saying this the food was good. We stayed in room 541 which was a delux spa room......the view was incredible. The rooms was extremely clean. We did have a minor maintenance issue with a light which was fixed by the time we returned to our room on the same day. We had previously been to Thailand 8 years ago and were not keen on going back. This visit was due to my brother getting married at the resort (which was absolutely beautiful). However I can honestly say that we will be coming back to this resort!!
We have just returned from an 8 night stay at Centara Grand and I think it was one of the best hotels we have ever visited. The staff were always friendly and accomodating and always went out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The view from our room was amazing. The room was always immaculate when we would return in the afternoon. I would definitely stay here again....
Beautiful room we had a deluxe pool suite just perfect, open clean room beach views. Weather was perfect 34 everyday. Great restaurants to eat at lovely buffet breakfast everyday. Staff were fantastic nothing a trouble then best pineapple and fresh mango omg.
This is a long overdue review but better late than never. Our wedding was a traditional Thai ceremony on the 19th November. I live in UAE so all the preparation was done over the email and telephone. The email was responded promptly every time and they always called back if any clarification needed. The price is very reasonable and competitive comparing to the other hotels in the area. I had to change the wedding manager one month prior the wedding as the first girl got a new job. However everything has been handed over and handled flawlessly. And then there was a flood and the hotel was shut down. Luckily we have a very caring, professional and attentive wedding manager - Khun X, who ensured that everything was properly planned and I cannot thank her enough. There was a plan B for everything in case of the rain. The venue was set up with the weather and temperature in mind. It was a beautiful day and everyone had a wonderful memory. The makeup artist and the photographer provided by the hotel are just top notch. We have hundreds of beautiful photos. We unfortunately had a slight problem with the bill later on but it did not change the view that we have with the resort and will recommend this venue to everyone.
This resort is really wonderful. Beautiful air conditioned rooms. We were in the first building [near reception] overlooking the beach. The pools are lovely with an abundance of chairs and umbrellas around them. Sadly beach loungers & umbrellas are not permitted on the beach! The breakfast choice is huge [if you have a large appetite ...which we don't!] The staff are very polite, helpful and friendly. Young families can leave their kids at the "camp safari" kids club to be entertained by very capable staff. The hotel is very spread out but the staff willingly take guests by "golf carts" to the various buildings. The only NEGATIVE is that it's not in walking distance to shops/restaurants.However, the hotel has it's own taxis and drivers can take you anywhere at the same price as regular taxis.
I read the reviews on Trip Advisor prior to my trip. I always go for the worst comments so I I am prepared to expect the worst. I read about murky and dirty water puddles everywhere and smelly waters in storm drains and hygiene issues and flies and insects everywhere, long queues for breakfast, sad look employees etc. Some reviewers even said this was not a 5 star but a 3 star hotel. I had already paid for my holiday and could not change it so I was now mentally prepared for the worst. To my surprise, mine was a beautiful experience. I am not sure if these reviewers were talking about the same hotel I was staying at because myself and friends had a positive experience staying there. It is a very beautiful resort. We stayed at the Centara Grand Resort at the end of March 2017. I was celebrating a milestone birthday with a group of 10 friends - so we had 5 rooms in total (plunge pool and jacuzzi). We arrived early about 11.30am and we were fortunate enough to have rooms available. I stayed in Block 9 in a Premium Spa Deluxe Room. It had the most amazing views, I think its the best location as you have a very good view of the sea and hotel. My friends were in block 1, block 3 and block 4. At first we were not happy that we were not close to each other but it ended up being good as we experienced each others room in the evenings sitting at the balcony. Overall the hotel was fantastic, I cannot fault it much. It has beautiful scenery and the location is just great, actually its perfect. It is within close proximity to Karon Town. It felt safe being in the hotel grounds. The staff were generally friendly, the customer service and care was exceptional. Everywhere you turned to, the staff would say “Sawadee ka”. I must say Oh and Penny at the Cove are exceptional, they make the dining experience at the Cove enjoyable and memorable. The entertainment team are just that, a good bunch of people. The manager Ou at reception was also very helpful as we had problems at check-in, not being aware of the deposit. The driver we went with on tour was knowledgeable. The chef who took the cooking class was really good. I could go on and on about the different staff members I encountered. The only things worth noting: - Ask for a daily activities schedule, you may miss out on these. We didnt get to make the most of these due to lack of planning or knowing what is going on where and what time. - Ask for instructions on the jacuzzi bath otherwise you will have water everywhere on your balcony. - I found the the Spa very expensive so I went to Karon. - The pricing of beverages and food is a bit steep but normal I guess for a 4/5 star and you have to pay mandatory service charge and some tax. The food is good, but some dishes are a hit or miss. - Not much going on at night, the resort is dead after 8pm. I know its a family hotel with excellent children facilities but not much going on for the adult guests. The Luna bar was shut during my stay. So our evenings were spent making minimal noise in out balcony which was pretty boring. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and if I am to visit Phuket again, I will definitely stay there.
The location and facilities all great except the restaurants ! The variety for the breakfast was really limited I went for dinner and the same thing I wish you consider including more food into your buffet Was lucky enough not to book half board This is the only negative we faced
High folks, just got back from 10 days at the Centara Grand in Karon and it was great, where to start I suppose breakfast was very good something for every taste, we found after trying most of what was on offer what we enjoyed and stuck to however they did change a few things as the day went on, I loved the soup station you would pay good money for that at a restaurant. Service was also good most of the time we had a fellow named Witt and he looked after us right to the end so we gave a little thankyou which I believe if you get good service should happen as they do not get payed a great deal. So we highly recommend adding the breakfast to the package.
We visited the Centara Grand for a relaxing family holiday and that is exactly what we got. We were recommended by a friend and have been so happy with our holiday. The room and amenities were really nice. We had a plunge pool on our balcony with views overlooking the resort and the bathroom is top notch. Everything was in easy walking distance which was great as it was very hot and humid. Going in May we did have a couple of rainy days but it was still hot and nothing stopped us swimming. Karon is only a short walk along the beach away where you can eat cheaply and experience some Thai Food. Our kids and admittedly ourselves had so much fun joining in the daily pool games run by Carpe Diem. Bjanka and Milan were fantastic and went that extra mile to get families involved and socialising. They always took the time to come and muck around with the kids and Bjanka was a personal favourite of both my boys. Thank you Bjanka my boys will miss you!! There were some good water slides and free fall drops to keep the kids amused and the lifeguards were so good with the kids and took the time to know their names and join them for some fun. The restaurants and wait staff were amazing and having a son with severe allergies they were all so conscious of him and made sure he never missed out. The food was also superb, can honestly say we did not have one bad meal. The spa was a beautiful experience and yes you could get a massage down in Karon cheaper but I felt totally spoilt when I visited the resort spa. We would definitely recommend to friends and we will be back.
