Centara Grand Beach Resort was fantastic, the staff were friendly and always accommodating. We loved the room we stayed in, enjoyed waking up in the morning and going for a walk around the resort taking in the beautiful surroundings, Buffet breakfast was excellent as well as the facilities & entertainment especially Dario & Bjanka from Carpe Diem Entertainment Team - they kept us entertained with late morning water aerobics, fun games and afternoon water sports, very friendly and an asset to the hotel...overall great experience.

Beautiful resort and beach. Rooms were great, lovely to have separate pool for adults. We went with my in laws who have walking difficulty and sometime we had to phone more than once for the golf buggy.Majority of staff were very friendly and helpful. Found restaurants and bars over priced ( London prices).while we were there, we power cut which took at least two phone calls to reception and 45mins before power supply was restored. Another day found there was no cold water and when it was restored had brown water foe several hours. This was the first holiday where we all had upset tummy at some stage of our 9days of stay.

Overall it was a great fun experience for the whole family. We have been in Phuket for at least 7 times and this resort made our stay this time to be the best. Simply we had a great time during our stay and kids really enjoyed very much the sport activities. It is highly recommended and if we visit Phuket again we will stay in this resort no doubt. Special thanks for both Dario & Bjanka ( Carpe Diem team ) who were arranging and getting everybody involved in the activities and programs around the pool.

Overall we had a really good experience at this resort, where the staff was very helpful and friendly. We had chosen the villas with pool, which allowed us to access special free services and access to their club ( free food and drinks several times a day, and a dedicated manager to help with any request - usually difficult to get an answer when addressing them at reception where langage barrier can be an issue). The plus - beautiful area, on the beach, with nice swimming if you like waves - several swimming pools for adults and children, with water slides, water jumps, floating devices - lovely kids club and animation ( from 4 yo, but a nanny can go with a 2 yo as well) - beautiful landscaping, no mosquito when we were there - a good balance of animations and quiet times - super nice staff at the restaurant to help with kids The minus - level of information on nannies was super limited. So the first day we were not fully confident our nanny understood instructions... at the end it was ok though. - food choice and quality is good but could be better. Delicious bread choice. We went for a tour to see elephant, water rafting, temple visit on a same day and this was fantastic.

We were travelling with 2 other families and requested to be close to each other but ended up being very far apart, after 1 night we again asked to be put closer together and at first the staff said they were unable to change our rooms but then we met Fang , and she went above and beyond for us and changed our rooms so we were all close together and right on the beach front which is what we had asked for initially as we had stayed there before and knew what we wanted. The resort is beautiful but does need a little upgrade here and there , nothing major just a few cosmetic things. Bia can and Dario that ran the kids activities were brilliant 👍. My kids loved hanging with them every day . I would definitely go back , my family loved it

Booked an "ocean facing" suite based on the posted pictures online and was extremely disappointed. Although I should've been smarter about the name of the room, the pictures online were drastically misleading. Ocean wasn't even visible from the room. Pros- - The resort is located on the actual beach. - nice rooms - nice pool - nice spa Cons - misleading pictures, only a few rooms actually have good view of the ocean - BATS, be prepared to walk by many bats, especially at night - long walk from rooms to the main entrance and taxi needed to leave hotel unless you want to walk uphill and on dangerous road or for 15 minutes on beach. - they have their own taxis which charge more than avg - front door staff can be a little more polite, especially at a resort trying to be 5 stars

We stayed in a deluxe ocean view room from July 23 to July 29, a 6 night stay in Centara Grand Karon. It was our first time in Karon, as we usually stayed in Patong. The resort is equipped with 2 swimming pools, a kids pool, lazy river with large floats supplies by the hotel, a diving area near a giant slide and a little kids slide at the baby pool. It had a rather big kids playroom too, however the toys were catered towards the 2 years and below. It is free for hotel guests where you just needed to register your child. You could either accompany your child or leave them with strict instructions not to allow them to leave the room. The coffeehouse where we had our daily buffet breakfast has a great selection, catering for Western and Asian palates. Full selection included breads, cold meats, fruit, eggs, pancakes, noodles, porridge, steam Buns, salads, dessert and juices. The coffeehouse also had daily dinner buffet with different themes. We tried the seafood night theme, the seafood was pretty good, mainly bbq. However, there was not much of a selection for young children. It is THB1050 per adult but if you booked during your breakfast buffet, you will get a 20% discount. Our room was a double-double, which consisted of 2 double beds joined together, making it a huge bed which accommodated 2 adults and 1 child comfortably. The bathroom comes with a separate shower and bath as shown in their hotel website. The room air-conditioning is really good despite being set to a minimum of 18 degrees. We always had it higher. The ceiling fan in the room is not much of a use as the fastest speed was slow in general. Our room 632 is just above the lazy river and you could see the ocean out further. We had a wonderful week in the hotel as our daughter loves the beach and pools. The beach is not too wide but sufficient for guests to enjoy themselves. It is a good 25 minute walk to the nearest Karon town where you could get massages or meals. There is a scheduled hotel shuttle that charges THB50 for one way to Karon and THB50 for one way to Patong. Airport transfers are pretty hefty at THB1000 from the airport and THB1800 to the airport. It would have been a pretty good holiday if we didn't leave our swim clothes hanging at the balcony when we checked out. We had to contact the hotel to have them send our clothes back to us in Malaysia which they did at our own expense for the postage fees. However, it was disappointing that my husband's trunks was not in the package received. It was only mine and my daughter's that was returned. It was sad to think housekeeping was dishonest as we had a pretty good impression of the hotel and it's staff throughout our stay. Oh well, guess my own carelessness is to blame. Perhaps it's about time my husband gets some new trunks! The hotel is a good choice if you are looking for a beachfront hotel with kid amenities. But be prepared to eat in the hotel on most days unless you don't mind walking an hour to and from the town to get some food.

Loved this resort, especially great for my 8 year old daughter. As adults we had enough fun with our child. Coming from a country where you cannot have your children run free, play free outside of your property (and sometimes not even on your property) it was nice to give her the freedom to run, play and swim. Food is a bit limited in terms of western cuisine, but Thai food is always good. I wouldn't recommend that you discard the all-inclusive option, as our currency is very poor - we found it pricey having to pay-as-you-eat. Also, based on our poor currency, we wouldn't go in July as flights to Phuket is very expensive. The resort (accommodation) remains competitive and affordable. All-n-all - a good family holiday :)

Great place, great staff, plenty to keep the kids busy. Attention to detail. Good food. Awesome breakfast buffet. Had a small room problem on arrival and it was delt with professionally and quickly. Will definitely be back there, great part of the world.

Dario & Bjanka Carpe Diem Team = Awesome duo making our stay extra special keeping us entertained we love every minute of our stay at this fantastic resort would recommend for any families best hoilday resort Patsalas Fam Bam
