Beautiful pools and outlay of the resort, was very relaxing. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times the food was great. We had the honeymoon suite asides from the fantastic view, the room was old, the balcony needs updating, the bathroom needs shade from the heat coming from the balcony doors. The heat in the bathroom was unbearable. No elevator to the honeymoon suite, would stay again but would definately downgrade to a room beside the pools
Room- the room was plenty big enough for 2 of us with simple but tasteful design. We had a room that opened up onto the pool, which was great. The bathroom could of done with a little updating but other than that the room was what we had hoped for. Pool- the pools were really cool set across 3 tiers and the top pool had a swim up bar which we were looking forward to. However, we assume it was due to rainy season but the only bar open was the main one by the lobby. Wifi- the website said that wifi had to be paid for in the room but we were given free wifi that worked in the room and by the pool. Breakfast- it was a little simple but I had freshly cooked omelette every morning and that was cooked well every time. All in all we were very happy with the hotel and if we are ever in Phuket again it is where we would look to stay.
Almost perfect service and place :) The rooms are an old style architecture, but the pools and the view are quite beautiful and relaxing. Have been there in the beginning of August for my honeymoon, which we got a room upgrade from the start.
We stayed at this lovely hotel for 13 nights, in low season, and loved it. You will read quite a few reports about it being tired and dated, and in need of some TLC. I agree, if you are looking for perfection, or modern minimalism decor, then you need to upgrade and go next door to the ultra modern SIS hotel. However, if you are looking for a scenic location with views over the bay, lovely "garden" setting (I would call this a garden hotel) with tropical butterflies and bird life, the odd small colourful lizard (eating the bugs), then I think you will like this place. Certainly the decor is dated, fading and in need of a coat of paint (the balcony wood stain was almost peeled of in the heat), but its my opinion the benefits, if you like that sort of thing, out weighs the negative aspects. The staff were attentive and friendly, the room clean, the food good (with one exception, I was disappointed in the fillet steak, it was well below average, but the duck in mango salsa was awesome). Two serious points you should consider, that is first, the location, the disadvantages were it is about 500metres up a steep hill just on the edge of the town, with two possible access points, the road and the foot path. Both are quite a climb, especially in the heat, even the tuk tuks strain to get up, but if you have any health or disability issues, you may well need to use transport. (The hotel does have a shuttle bus, but we did not use this). The path however is quite an obstacle course, especially after rains and not recommended for anyone with fitness or mobility issues). Some of the steps on the path are about 18inches high, and the steps are, in places very steep, the handrail does not exude confidence, and in one part there is a slope (which my daughter slipped over on after the rain). It does have the advantage of views, no traffic (Phuket does not have any real concept of health and safety, the pavements are purely random and done at your own risk) and some much scenery before you get to the shacks and piles of litter at the bottom, however you will be rewarded by butterflies and the like on route. You will be very hot by the time you climb back up, be we used it frequently, and it certainly increases your heart rate and fitness quickly. (In addition, I used the Motorcycle hire shop at the bottom of the hill and we had a good bike, but beware, none of the bikes in Phuket are insured at all, crash, and your on your own, having said that, its great way to get away from the tourist trips at much less cost, and good fun.) Secondly, I am so glad I upgraded from the basic room, some of which had tiny basement like balconies with little no privacy, or, with walls facing the windows. It did not cost much extra with the special deal (thro booking.com), so choose wisely. The advantage of the hotel, is it is away from the noise and hustle and bustle of the town, and at night, as in there day, its quite beautiful . By the way the gym was antiquated and barely working, and no air conditioning (very hot in low season due to high humidity), so what started as good intentions, ended as not bothering. If I went back I would use this hotel again.
We went to the hotel at 2pm so that we can avoid the waiting time to check in the room. Turned out we got to wait for over one hour just to check in our rooms. When we asked the staff, they gave us too many excuses which did not make any sense rather than their inefficiency in doing their jobs! The staff were nowhere near nice and not patient at all. Would not recommend this hotel. It is also far from the beach although they provide free shuttle service which they make it as their
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 weeks during June, what they refer to as 'low season'.. and I think that also reflects their attitude too. The hotel was not 'luxurious' but it clearly has potential to offer a much better customer experience than we had. The reception desk staff were extremely helpful, polite, lovely, etc throughout our entire stay and are a credit to the hotel. However, the member of staff who took our bags to our room was rude towards us and yet still waited in our room REQUESTING a tip (he was equally rude and also quite ignorant during other encounters with him throughout our stay). The room was big but somewhat basic. Despite keeping our air conditioning on and the patio doors shut at all times, we still somehow got feasted on by Mosquitos during the night and on a few occasions found small lizards in the room too. The food was average/poor, yet much more expensive than other restaurants. Service wasn't great either. It's a shame because there is a very good variety in the menu, it is just the actual preparation of them where it goes wrong. The pools are decent sized with a good amount of sunbeds (for quiet season at least), there is a lovely seating area in one of the pools where the pool bar is, unfortunately there was never anyone tending it though. I understand that when there's fewer people there is less demand, but that shouldn't be an excuse to treat the current paying customers as less valuable to the hotel. The views of the beach and ocean are beautiful. Unfortunately this comes at a cost though - the hill up to the hotel. It's a bit of a killer to walk up and I'm quite an active person! But tuk tuks charge extra because of it, and the free hotel shuttle bus has to be booked for return way in advance, so if you don't know what time you want to return, you must either pay for it in cash or physical exertion. Also beware of the onsite taxi service - they will try and charge you more than other taxis, but when they approached us whilst waiting for an externally booked taxi, they soon offered to match what we had been quoted. Despite the hill, the hotel is well located - away from the noise and busy streets but still close enough for restaurants, shops, beach, etc. It's worth getting the shuttle up to Kata Centre in the evening too, the bars and restaurants round there are better than Kata Beach. Overall we weren't blown away by our stay here. It was okay. I imagine during "high season" the hotel is a lovely place and offers a much better customer experience. It's a shame, because it has so much potential to offer a fantastic stay, but aside from this we still had an amazing holiday overall. PS. If you don't like cats or birds stay away, there are a lot on site.
This is not a luxurious hotel, but its clean and affordable. Very good layout. There is a shuttle everyday, free of charge. The only downside is the uphill trek on the way back from town, only if you don't take a taxi, which I would highly recommend. Its a more quiet hotel in Kata Beach, away from all the intense hussle and bussle, but close enough that in 5 mins you are there, a perfect place to stay in Kata.
The staff is helpful and friendly. The resort is quite small, but greens is everywhere. Hotel has few swimming pools which is good. The hotel is old and needs renovation. The location is a bit complicated. One should climb the hill to reach the hotel from Kata beach and there's no a proper road for pedestrians. The shorter way is quite rough and be ready to be beaten by mosquitoes. Breakfast is quite poor. I wouldn't recommend it unfortunately. There are better hotels.
Stayed here for one week with my wife. Was given a great room with an amazing view. Staff were friendly, helpful, and we could tell they truly took pleasure in ensuring we had a great stay. Would definitely stay there again.
Most relaxing & enjoyable 10 day stay. Rooms plenty big enough with huge bed, clean & tidy. Staff very helpful, friendly & warm, will go out of their way to accommodate your needs. Pool area clean & very relaxing.
