Had a family vacation at Andaman Cannacia Resort and Spa hotel. Mass of positive emotions is taken. Excellent hotel with the well-planned green area and convenient pools. The kitchen of hotel is quite well, very good breakfast and the fine choice of dishes for dinner. Personnel of hotel is hospitable but often perform work in a slipshod manner. But it does not irritate. Work of drivers of a hotel shuttle is not covered by any explanation and any planning. I really enjoyed the hotel staying.

We booked 5 rooms at this hotel many months before our travel dates. On arrival, only 2 rooms were available due to overbooking meaning our friends had to move into sub standard rooms and wait several days until the correct room was available. They were offered a free meal or a massage as compensation which was laughable as the food was simply awful. On leaving, one of our friends realised they had mislaid a laptop. As it was early in the morning, there was no one available to help. The hotel was contacted several times over the next 2 days and we were told on each occasion that they hadn't seen or found it! Luckily, the manager from our hotel in Koh Lanta intervened and spoke with them directly. The missing laptop was found within 5 minutes!! They obviously had no intention of returning this and hoped we wouldn't be seen again - they thought wrong!! Not only did they intend on keeping it, they also made us pay to return it! I have travelled extensively throughout Thailand over many years and can honestly say that this hotel along with its morals have quite simply left a bad taste not just for me, but all our friends who stayed at this hotel. My advise, go elsewhere.

To say that it is a bad Hotel would be wrong, because there are good and bad issues. Good: View, Pool Area, Rooms Bad: Service, Food, High Danger (!!) of falling down from balkony due to too low railing, Danger of accident due to possible fall down of coconuts at a Palm at the pool. Just 3 of many examples for Service, Organisation and Food: 1. Within 14 days we just got 3 times a sun lounger at the pool area because other People blocked the loungers by towels early in the morning. Then they were not there for 2 hours and then some of them came back and put a second, white towel on the sun lounger and disappeared for another 2 hours. 2. I ordered a tuna salad & Gulash. The amount of tuna in the salad was an impertinence and the Gulash was still cold inside. Just wasted Money. 3. I ordered 2 empty wine glass to my room. The Person on the phone told me it will take about 70 (???) minutes. My wife went out and bought 2 glasses. The ordered glasses never arrived at the room. ...and that for a Price higher than 180Euro/Night??? No, not for uis anymore!

We stayed 12 days in this hotel and had great time. The staff was very friendly and neat. The housekeeping staff worked well. The room was clean. The pool area was clean and serene. The sea view from the pool was wonderful. The jacuzi at the pool was very useful to rest. The only thing that we had a lot of complaints was the hill to the hotel. When we were at Katanoi beach we had to go on foot to the hotel. That was a torture. The rest we enjoyed our hotel very much.

Having booked an Andaman Seaview room months in advance - this was to be the first time my wife and I got to spend Christmas and New Years together. However, this hotel has a deliberate system to overbook rooms so they can maintain capacity. What this means for the paying guest (in this case us) is that you get 'downgraded'. What this really means is you do not get what you've paid for. Instead of getting what is advertised we were placed into a basement room with no natural light, no views and stray cats meowing at your "balcony' door all night. I informed the management immediately and what ensued was days of stalling and rhetoric - put simply, the room we booked was not available as it had been booked out!!. It was only due to Joanne at reception who gave us a better room for our final three nights. To be honest - I could go on and on and pick this place to pieces as all the small annoyances simply add up to proving that this is a three star hotel masquerading as a four star. Kata is a great spot and there are so many better places to spend your hard earned money. So, if you decide to go ahead and book with this hotel - I hope you get what you think you're paying for. Heed the warning.

We spent 2 nights at this fantastic hotel. Everything has been great! The personnel is very kind, the pool area and the room are fantastic and all the other services and amenities are great! There is a "secret" passage next to the pool that you can use to reac Kata beach safely, because the hotel is located after a uphill climb. One improvement that can be made is the frequency of the shuttle that goes to/from Kata beach even if it can be reached by foot with little effort.

I'm having a bit mixed feelings on this hotel. Let me show some bullets -Nice pool area but a bit few chairs - Rooms are simple and a bit worn down. AC is noisy -Level of English speaking within the staff is generally a bit low/bad but there are some exceptions on the positive side -Restaurant is OK but nothing special and same goes for breakfast -Atmosphere among staff is great! They did a fantastic job saving the New years party in spite of heavy rain. Kudos! Management is very nice and also very hands on. Owner Lilly helped us several times when we had questions that staff couldn't answer - My girls took a course in food carving Un the hotel which was fun and also engaged several of the staff. Very nice! -It might look a bit boring that the hotel is a bit off from the beach and you supposedly would need to use their shuttle. BUT, if you are fit, there is a good short cut behind the hotel that takes you down to the start of Kata Beach walking in less then 10 minutes, 5 if you are not lazy About Gluten free food Generally it is pretty easy to eat gluten free in Thailand unless you really need bread. This hotel had no gluten free bread and also very low knowledge about gluten. However, Lilly came to our rescue a couple of times and all the staff was very open to try to meet our gluten free needs. All in all 3 stars to the hotel but staff and management rises the grade to 4 stars

From the airport pick up (which we paid for twice), to the 'over booked' hotel where our room type was downgraded from a sea view deluxe room to a smelly ground floor room looking out onto the noisy kitchen/dining area. We spoke to reception and to our agent endlessly, begging for the room we booked. Their answer was to stick us in a second floor room, directly above the one we were in. Dark with loads of street noise and the noise from the kitchen and dining room and zero privacy from staff and diners. Not to mention the lack of lounges around the pool area, if you are out there after 8am all the lounges are taken with towels and bags draped over them. And if you want to order room service, don't, the staff can't hear you properly over the phone so you end up going there to order in person. You have to request clean towels and face washers. Mini bar is never restocked. This would be pushing to be a three star hotel. We are incredibly disappointed, no matter how many times we requested to speak with management the poor reception staff was left to palm us off. The hotel was deliberately overbooked during this period so we wasted money on a holiday we didn't get. So very disappointed, won't be back.

Here for our baby moon and this is a perfect recommendation resort for couples and families alike 👍🏼 Swimming pools with lazy chairs for suntanning and pure laziness which is what I am here for! Personal jacuzzi in the room if you prefer to be away from the crowd 😍

The resort is well maintained and the ambience is very relaxing. We got the sea view room, and the view is amazing. The only downside I have about this resort is that it is up a hill. But that also gives the resort the ability to have such nice views. Staff is warm and friendly and accommodating to all our needs. Would recommend one to rent a bike to get around without breaking a sweat.
