very comfortable, effortless stay. second time at centara, there will be more. centrally located, easy walk to eateries, bars and beaches. karon is quieter than patong, but patong is easily accessible, when you want to enjoy the sights and sounds.
This is one of the best hotels that we have stayed in we were in the Royal Villa for 11 nights and it certainly lives up to its name The staff in the Club especially Valeria were so attentive to details and always went that extra to ensure that we had the most amazing time I can not reccomend this hotel highly enough
Nice and very friendly staff- with is a plus. The hotel is clean and nice. But the rooms are a little worn down and could use an update. It is located in the centre of Karon on the hill side, and it has a lot of green tropical surroundings. There has already been a make over at the pools and the new Azura Restaurant is worth a try! The entertainment is OK. And the food that they serve is good. The fitness centre and the child entertainment is also OK. The Spa at this hotel gives you a wonderful service! Absolutely wonderful! The atmosphere is great there. Thanks to all the Spa girls❤ I would recommend that Centara would consider to take in Decléors products. It would make that "silver lining". All my best to the management and staff at this great hotel💪👏
We visited with our young family for two weeks and had a brilliant time. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food good. Kids especially loved the swimming pool. Unfortunately they were a little young for kids club but staff there were lovely. We want to come back in 12 months.
For the past few years we enjoyed getting away from the Australian winter. We meet our children and grandchildren who come here from Switzerland. All the staff is always very friendly and helpful and make us feel very welcome. Breakfast buffet is amazing. This time we had some health issues, and we were brought tea, honey and medecine. We will be back in October for another 4 weeks and are looking forward to meeting all the lovely people who work at the Resort and have become our friends.
I have stayed here in the pass and have recommended many friends . I'm still here while writing this and it's only been my second day of 2weeks .... when we first arrived late at night, all we wanted to do was check into our room. We had already agreed a price on the main website but they try to add about £100 more when we got here. We tried to pay in English Pounds as agreed but they charge us on a credit card, then it got worse as they tried to charge for a nine year old child which he was meant to be free as it stated in that website. After a long discussion with the manager and showing them there own website we didn't have to pay for a child. The night staff were exceptionally rude and miserable. The guy at the gym was rude and not very welcoming who said I could not do Thai boxing pad work with my wife even though we had our own equipment. There was no one in the room and was told if we wanted to do Thai boxing we have to do it through the hotel Thai boxing trainer ..!!! ..... I would never book this hotel again even though I had a good experience in the pass it has changed so much and it looks completely different from the time I was here everything is run down . Do not get your exchange rates from the hotel they ripped you off that as well just go into the main road you will get a much better deal.
We are currently staying here at the moment and it is one of the worst run hotels ever!! It started terribly with an accident with our transfers and then left in limbo. At the time of booking we were told we would be getting a room with pool access on the bottom floor. Only to be taken to 2 different rooms that weren't correct, then we got told that nothing is guaranteed at the time of booking, if that's the case why confirm the booking with pool access bottom ground. We even informed our travel agent who contacted management but nothing was resolved. We were then finally taken to the "Correct" room and told that we would be charged an extra 200 bht a day. As it wasn't our stuff up we believe we shouldn't have had to pay it but we were desperate so just paid it. Then when it came for our luggage to come down we got told that there was no staff and if we could carry our luggage down and then come and collect the room cards, but difficult when we were 3 levels up and no lift!! Then the TV wasn't working with the only English movie channel unwatchable as well as a terrible smell in the room, so we were constantly trying to air out the room. At breakfast the service wasn't friendly and English with staff was quite poor. We experienced dirty cups with lipstick still on the outer and broken cups with chips in them, when I informed the staff member she just smiled and said thanks madam and left the cup there. The breakfast was great but the only downside was trying to get bacon, there never seemed to be any or they just ran out. It's such a shame because we were there celebrating my husband's 40th and I must admit they did recognise this and gave him a card and a free drink, which was a lovely gesture. The grounds of the hotel were beautifully kept but the hotel is a bit dated. With stray cats everywhere we went. Two were on our outdoor area which woke us up most mornings, meowing for food. We emailed the manager who replied promptly but when we went to the lobby to speak in person the managers were never available. The only saving grace with the hotel were the Carpe Diam Team of Matea, Milan, Marija and David who were fabulous with pool activities, such as water polo, aqua aerobics and activities with the children as well as other water games to allow guests to interact, they should be commended, we can't thank them enough so thanks again to all 4 of you. We hope you get the recognition that you deserve 👍🏼👍🏼
This is our 2nd trip here after coming for the first time last year. They have great facilities available, the staff are wonderful and so helpful. The food has always been very good and the added bonus of the bars in the pool is great! We have two children aged 13 & 8 and an infant (6mths) and the kids club has been fantastic for the older kids, as they have had a range of activities on each day and the facilities with ping pong table, tennis court, darts and the game consoles keep them entertained while mum & dad relax. The "Carpe Diem" Team members : Milan, Marija, Matea and David are really friendly and always greet the kids with such energy in the mornings at breakfast and let them know what's happening for the day. Milan even came to say goodbye to the kids this morning which was really nice. Activities are easy to book through the hotel service, offering a range of things for all ages. Highly recommend the elephant bathing through JC Tours.
We booked Centara Karon after reading a great number of positive reviews from traveling families, detailing specifically the child-friendly facilities (pool, playground, etc) featured in the resort. We thought it would be good for our 20-month old son who, incidentally, loves the pool and the playground. Our first impression though was that the resort looks old, especially the hotel side. The reception was rather gloomy, but thankfully, the local receptionists were friendly and accommodating. We were thankful though that they gave us a room with the view of the pool and the baby cot was there, just as we had requested. The room is spacious and so is the bathroom, but there's a bit of a musty smell that's quite difficult to ignore so we had to aerate the room each time we head out for a meal or a walkabout. Room service was decent and food portion's quite big we couldn't finish our meals. The breakfast buffet features a wide array of western and local dishes. Centara Karon is surrounded by restaurants and shops, so you have a plethora of dining options apart from the resort's own restaurants. It's also just a few minutes' walk to Karon Beach, which is a good place to hang out in the early mornings or at sunset.
We recently stayed at Centara Karon (2 adults, 3 kids) in 2 rooms that were interconnecting, very comfortable, plenty of space to get around. Had some issues with air con but hotel staff were hick to rectify. Hotel staff were very accomodating and language was no barrier! The kids pool is a fantastic area, we travelled with 2 other families and our kids spent the whole day on there, kids club is always on and keeping the kids entertained as well!!! The hotel supplies pool towels 👍 Food at both the main restaurant and Azure was fantastic. However, the breakfast buffet is much better at the main restaurant than at Azure, but Azure serves great lunch and dinner, the Margarita pizza was the best!!!! Happy hour at the pool bars is between 3-6pm, the bar serves generous amounts of alcohol in the cocktails, just watch out for the bees!!!! Location of this hotel is fantastic, no noise, walking distance from catching tuk tuks and shopping. Go to Tod's tours to organise sightseeing, short walk from hotel, she was lovely, organised all our tours at a great price and she also done our girls braids (700 baht ✅) Only downfall with this hotel is that where we were situated (level 2, at the back of the resort) there were no lifts, can be challenging with a toddler that still uses a stroller for naps. Overall we enjoyed our stay, would definitely come back to Centara Karon with the family!
