Very attentive staff who are ready to assist you. Nice room for our family and the area seemed safe for walking around at night. There are limited dining options around but most nights we ate before coming back to the hotel. Location was close to the train station which was the reason we stayed here. We would stay again.

Stayed in a superior twin room on the 5th floor, which was clean and comfortable, with a walk-in shower (important because I have mobility issues). It was on the small side but not cramped. The decor seemed to be fairly new and in good shape, of a dark gray neutral sort. Staff on check-in were friendly, quick and helpful. It's a massive hotel that takes huge tour groups, so there were several hordes clumped together in the lobby and in the street area outside; there is also no visible place to sit and relax in the lobby, which is designed to get a lot of people through check-in quickly. I was so glad to find there was express checkout! There are several restaurants in the hotel which I didn't try, and lots of restaurants in the immediate area. Very close to everything in Bloomsbury. There was street noise at night but nothing extreme.

The room was lovely and clean. There was no air con though so it did get a bit warm, only option was to open the window which meant we had street noise. But I would definitely return!

The area around the hotel is great. Highly recommend the Russell Square area. The hotel is older though and our room was quite small, and without a refrigerator (which we should have checked beforehand). Our only big issue was the shower. Although there is a curtain, it is made of fabric rather than plastic, so water goes right through it. Even though we tried to shower with the shower head facing the wall, water always leaked all over the floor.

There was a strong air freshner smell on our floor. I have allergies to strong smells. I asked them to turn it down and when they did there was a strong musty smell. The window in the room did not open very far and it was hot with no air flow. We had to ask for a fan.

Very good value. Bedroom was Spartan but extremely clean. Very comfortable bed. The vast hotel has all the amenities you need for a good business trip. Staff are exceptionally pleasant. Recommended.
