This was my second time staying at Spark by Hilton Exton. The first time was perfect — the room was clean, the air conditioning and TV worked well, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, my recent stay was disappointing. The first room I was given had a very bad smell and the TV didn’t work. After I asked to switch rooms, the new room smelled better, but the TV was still broken. There was no conditioner in the shower, and in the morning I even found a bug on the bathroom floor. This experience was far below the standard I expected based on my first visit.

The desk staff each day (and night) were always friendly. If staying again, would ask for a room at the rear of the motel due to traffic noise on front side. There was a strong “scent” when entering room, possibly a cover up for smoke even though the hotel is “smoke free.” Not a big deal, but the shower door would slide open during the shower. Breakfast bar was bagels and boiled eggs. Also saw a small box or two of cereal. Ate at the 24Bistro not too far from hotel! Great food, good prices, and quick service!

Despite the hotel being a "non smoking property" all 3 rooms we had were smelling of cigarette smoke. One room in particular was very bad. We called reception within minutes of entering the room to ask for a room swap, but the lady there was not interested in being accommodating. We were told "there are no other rooms available" followed by a quick hang up. The hotel parking was 70% empty and so was the breakfast cafe in the morning. My intuition tells me there were plenty of rooms available. Anyway, would not recommend this hotel and will not stay there again. Too bad, given that we travel to the area several times a year for athletic events.

We asked for handicap facilities, because my husband is in a wheelchair. We were put on the 4th floor. I asked if that could be changed & the girl at the desk said no. Our room did not have a functional smoke detector. There was a hole in the ceiling and the smoke detector was laying on the bedside stand. A housekeeper came into our room to clean, and threw my husbands urinal away. There were no handicap parking spaces identified at the back parking lot. I could go on, but we will not be at this hotel ever again.

Property seemed clean & modern but our room was musty & smelled a bit like wet dog. No microwave in room - only 1 in lobby. No freezer compartment in mini fridge. Bkfst was just ok - only hot option was waffles.
