This is a lovely hotel situated within walking distance of attractions, food, shopping and the train station. We loved exploring the area and appreciated having the train station so close for our day trip to St. Andrews. The room was on the small side but had everything we needed. It was very clean and we felt safe having our patio door open to let in some fresh air.
We had the family room which was spacious and comfortable for our family of 4. The hotel staff was very helpful throughout our stay, arranging taxis and providing restaurant recommendations. The location was perfect for our arrival by train. We will definitely come back!
Great location. Unfortunately, the AC did not work in our room. Seemed to be a problem in other rooms located in the same area.

Great location. 10 minute walk to Royal mile. Very small room. In need of repairs. King size bed is the new european king which is really the US queen. Wifi was a hit or miss. For the cost I would expect much better.
Overall, I would stay here again. The room is very small (we were stepping over our suitcases), but we didn't mind because it was only for one night. For a longer stay, I would choose another hotel with larger rooms. Rainfall showerhead was great, good water pressure and volume. Very large TV at the foot of the bed. Bed was comfortable (I gave 4 stars for room comfort because of the cramped size). Staff was very helpful.
Every favor I asked of either the Day Manager M. or staff was cheerfully answered, "Of course!" And I asked some pretty outlandish assistance (after hiking up and down the hilly streets of Edinburgh -- yep, out of shape lol). Took us a bit to figure out a few of the high-tech gizmos :) but staff were always prompt to help. Good food, great servers in the Turquoise Thistle Restaurant adjoining, esp. K. And J. Wonderful young workers. You cannot go wrong here, IMO.
Really enjoyed staying here, clean and stylish, and in a great location! What more to ask?
