This was what we wanted and it worked out well. Shower head in the master bedroom can't be adjusted, and replacing it with a nice (and lower cost) shower head would be better one, but it works OK. Girls would like the half-shade area on the porch to be covered to allow sitting out in the rain, but that, too, is just a nice to have item. Overall, we liked it enough that we plan to return. Host was good, and location is fine for almost anything.

this stay was great. the home is private yet only minutes from town. great mountain views. good chance you could see a elk in the yard, evidence of broken pine trees and rubs on the property. the master bath is awesome.

Property was in a great location and very convenient. Clean property and check in was very easy. Our big issue was the listing states that there are 4 beds (2 Queens & 2 Twins) however, there are actually only 3 beds. The day prior to the trip I got a message about check in and wanted to confirm with the host that there were 4 beds. I never got a response until the morning of checkout about is was about what we needed to clean before leaving. So 1 guest slept on the couch. Property was great but that was a big inconvenience.

The place was ok, amenities were not in great condition. The floor in the living room had a large bad spot that had been taped over and ‘hidden’ by a rug. The rug didn’t lay flat and we kept tripping over it so we picked it up & found the spot. Master bedroom has no closet. No door to the bathroom- toilet is in plain sight of bed. Also, the house sleeps 6 but only 4 plates in the house, 3 chairs at the table, etc. Not enough toilet paper, no additional trash bags provided, just a lack of ‘necessities’. The dishes in the cabinets were not really clean- stuck on food and we found a fake eyelash stuck on the cutting board! However, the location was very convenient to multiple attractions. After dumping the water out of the uncovered fire pit we enjoyed having a fire outside. Decent sized bedrooms and large bathrooms!

The house was clean and contained good amenities. We enjoyed the grill and firepit. Unfortunately, we did not see the nice cutting knives under the over until we were leaving. The fire alarm is extremely sensitive. Each time we cooked on the stove, it set the alarm off. Last, the VRBO posting states there is a twin bed with trundle. We did not find this.

Excellent communication with the owner, great location is near everything , very clean and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The only detail is they described river front and it’s not. The river is across street and you can’t see from the house.

Mountain retreat

We loved the house. 2 bedrooms with a bathroom one end and master suite the other end. Perfect for our mixed group of family and friends. Kitchen and living room were central and we enjoyed chatting and game time there. The house is only 2.5 miles from Cherokee so very convenient for visiting the Oconoluftee village and Unto These Hills performance as well as souvenir shops, coffee shops and restaurants. A delightful stay with a wonderful host.

First, I want to say we had a good stay. Initially we had to adjust room assignments because the 3rd bedroom has a double bed instead of the 2 twins as indicated on the VRBO listing. My grands were good about it but a bit disappointed. We agree with another reviewer that the very open style mastbath suite
