The room is so tiny. The air conditioner is not strong enough to cool the room down. The electric fan that was provided was so dusty. The bathroom counter is dirty upon arrival and stained. Also, it was not stated on the website that the stairs are so steep and unfortunately, we were put on the third floor which makes it very difficult for us to go up and down each day. I requested to be transfered to the first floor and we were told they were going to follow with us the next day, but there was no follow up.

Two days before our checkin the hotel notified me that there was no elevator. It was too late for me to find other accommodations as I was already away. The stairs are narrow and steep, with very small risers. They were hard to negotiate with a suitcase. The hallway and stairs in the hotel needed a good vacuuming. Upon entering the room, the curtains were partially torn from the window and hanging down. The bathroom is about 30 inches from one side of the bed. The wall and door of the bathroom are glass, the door slides. The glass is only partially opaque. Any noise/odors emanating from the bathroom are heard/smelled in the bedroom. The bathroom door came off its runner and my husband fixed it. There is a full length mirror only in the shower. The sink basin is chipped. The opaque part of the walls do not cover the entire shower area. Although it was cold outside the room was sweltering. We had the fan on the entire time we were there. I could not tell if the heat was on or not, we turned the system off. We were told there was no A/C. There was always grit on the floor, even after I complained.

The location was very good,the bed comfortable ,the staff were quite nice and the breakfast buffet was very good . However my room was in poor condition with light fittings hanging off the walls and the table about to collapse when touched. It was looked like it hadn’t had a coat of paint or a ‘deep clean ‘ in many years. As it was the last room available when I booked, perhaps the other rooms were in better condition. The carpets in the communal areas would also benefit from a thorough clean.

I had an excellent stay here! As a solo traveler I felt safe and welcomed. The area was perfect distance from everything and the staff were very helpful. The patio view of the canal alone is enough reason to book again!

While I enjoyed that hotel is in a very old building, I wish I knew earlier there is no elevator, the steps were very narrow. The bed was very comfortable, staff were very helpful. Overall it was a nice experience.

Great quiet hotel stay!

We really enjoyed our stay ❤️ we got the canal view room and it was so nice to just have the window open to a pretty quiet canal below. We were allowed to leave bags with the front desk to go explore until our room was ready. Luckily our room was ready early so we got to check in. The downside is this hotel has no elevator so if you brought a big suitcase, that would be quite the exercise up the flights of stairs. The room was clean, the mattress was a little thin for my taste but the pillows made up for it. Walking distance to the Rijksmuseum or the metro station for an easy trip into the city center. Overall i would definitely stay here again.

Nice location

Really comfortable bed & pillows and nice decor. Lovely big bath & nice toiletries and liked the bonus yoga mat hidden in the wardrobe. We were lower ground floor and the trams start quite early but we still slept OK but one of us uses earplugs. Nice location with lots of restaurants nearby and not far from a big grocery store. Staff were really friendly and we could drop our bags off prior to check-in and also on our day of departure which was really handy. Yes we'd go back again as it was in a location that we liked and we had a lovely stay.
