I will never book again in this hotel as the A/C didn't work through out the the 3 nights I was there. I brought it to the attention of the staff on the night I checked in and it was not attended to even after reminders each morning and evening about it. The solution given to me was completely unacceptable - open the window and sleep ( also the window could not be opned!). Room cleaning was only a case of changing the sheets. The shower still had used and emptyshampoo and soap tubes etc lying around after cleaning. On second evening on third reminder and an encounter with a very rude staff member at the reception, a person was sent to my room to look at the issue. His only purpose seemed to be to try and find fault with my usage of the controls (there was no way for me to control it as it seemed to be controlled centrally, but he was insisent that my temperature setting was wrong. Even after he himself was not able to change the settings on the panel, he kept insisting I had set something wrong! At the end, in the night I had to once more contact the reception and I got a small totally useless 'portable A/C' which did not help in cooling the room. I spent 3 sweaty, sleepless nights in the room and I hope no one has to ever go through with this ordeal!
Had a great time this weekend for a 50th Birthday! Hotel was very modern clean and delicate. Hotel staff where very polite and nothing was any trouble, breakfast was great. I would say the only let down is the distance, we where aware of this before hand but it’s literally about ten stops on the Metro-line which could be a bit tedious.. other than that fantastic place to stay! Would definitely visit again!
Check in was Very clumsy. Booked a twin room But got a tripple single room. When asking They said it was a upgrade And Free , But i did Not want or book three single beds. The receptionist said maybe There is one double And one single bed.?? Maybe? You should know. This was the case so problem solved. Location quiet with many parking options. Metro is closeby Price for parking 15€ And breakfast 15€ a bit expensive Rooms are Really Nice And clean with enough amenities. Free WiFi/ coffeemaker/ mini fridge (empty) Overall good experience
Hotel stole money off me! I made a booking, they lied about the price and included more costs and tax which they said was already included, when I was unhappy I they only offered 10% and then the following day they sent email cancelling the booking. I called and asked why and was told they could not honour the booking. I booked elsewhere from my trip and then on my return Hotel Lowell have took money out of my account !!! They also have changed their email address so any email i had replied to bounced back! DO NOT STAY HERE
Hotel room was clean, big and cozy. There is a refrigator and a nespresso caffee machine. Very close to metro station. Easy&quick self check in/out. There is also staff in reception. They are very helpful. It takes 16-17 minutes to reach central station with metro line 54. Consider buying 24h-48h-72 GVB card for transportation if you plan to travel inside amsterdam.
Same with a few people, I have mixed feelings about the hotel. Most hotels in Amsterdam are quite pricey but I think for 2 people, 2 nights we paid around €400 which was a bit pricey, maybe just bad luck on the booking! Overall though we had a really nice stay at the hotel. Our hotel room was big, with a huge shower! The room was clean and beds were super comfy. Location isn't great because it's a bit far from the city but it is really easy to get to thanks to the nearby metro. We didn't have much interaction with the staff as we were out most days, but the receptionists were very friendly.
Location is very good: from the airport one just need to take the intercity train to Arena stop, then change to metro 50/53 (one stop only); it also takes only around 25min from the central station; metro is frequent too. So for those who wants a reasonable-priced room and fairly convenient location this is definitely a good choice. Though there seems not much around the hotel, maybe a cafe for breakfast near the station and that’s it. IKEA is very close though! Rooms are with decent size and well designed and clean. However there are something I don’t like very much: there is no glasses in the room, only plastic cups and espresso cups. Not convenient for water.... Also, somehow the hotel (probably the whole block) lost power in the first night. So there was no heating in the room from 1am till 8:30am. I’m sure this is an unusual event, but nothing was explained from the hotel staff which is not very nice. Despite that, the staff are very friendly and welcoming.
This hotel has many positive points in its favour including: the price, it is new, clean, has comfortable beds, a stylish room with a desk, a Nespresso coffee maker and other pluses. It also has some drawbacks; it is still in creation mode with an entrance under construction. The twin buildings have an odd configuration. In the annex the elevators open to an area that is distinct from the corridor where the rooms are and requires opening what appears as a fire door. The building seems to have been an old office building that was retrofitted as a hotel. The staff is attentive and try to help but they are in the learning stages. Parking a car is confusing, as it requires payment in an automated apparatus in the lobby rather than automatically on the room charge. Communication with the front desk is not optimal. The fire alarm went off at 2:45 for 5 minutes. After waking up and going back to sleep it went off again for 20 minutes during which time a loud voice on a loud speaker informed us to evacuate into the cold night air. It was a false alarm but took quite some time for us to be given the OK to re-enter the building. In the morning no explanation or apologies were offered. The hotel is well suited for travel to the RAI convention center but it can be a problem late at night when the area is deserted and dark possibly a scary experience for some travellers.
THere were several things I liked about hotel Lowell. 1. The price was a really good price for what the hotel offered 2. Clean rooms newer decor 3. Fridge and coffee pots in rooms 4. Nice Bathrooms and showers 5. New linens 6. It was really easy to get to the train to take go to the city 7. I traveled alone with two children and felt very safe 8. in room safe 9. Hotel Stored your luggage for free What I didn't like 1. Had to wait to check in 2. Breakfast was expensive
One note: you find the hotel under different names, as Lowell, Levell and other spellings! Room 435, tower 2. Room is between elevators near stairs. I came here due to severe price raises near the arena. I found great price rooms here. The do a lot of the self service for checkin and out. They have two towers with rooms. My room was very big, nice clean and modern equipped, especially the bathroom. Also the air condition was quite. They also offer in room Nespresso. For that price was exceptional. The only downsides were: - a bit thin walls - the hotel is a bit out of way - breakfast was medium at best
- Walking distance to Heineken Music Hall
- Free WiFi and wired Internet in rooms and public areas
- Onsite dining
- Concierge services
