Lots of odd things about this hotel: No tissues in the room, no coffee mugs even though they have stuff for coffee. I was told to just use a water glass, but it was much too hot. The extra key to activate the elevators was odd and easily by passed. The restaurant staff seemed put out when asked any questions, and it was unclear about breakfast menus (There were none) even though they were open for breakfast. I was told I could not charge my dinner to my room, but the bill had a place for room number, etc...so don't know what that was all about. To say the decor of the hotel was unique is an understatement...looked a little like Dungeons and Dragons. And there were hoses every 40 feet in the hallways...?

I would not recommend staying at this property. We had a horrible experience. They never cleaned our room. We left our wet used towels on the floor and they just picked them off the floor and put the back on the shelves like they where clean. The garbage was never cleaned in the bathroom and the tissues were on the floor. They left the dirty glass in the bathroom. There was also mold in the shower. The front desk was very unpleasant and they would not let you speak. At the end of the stay we told the management that we were unhappy with the stay and that we took photos of the room and one the front desk personnel told us to leave the hotel immediately before he calls the police.

An overall good experience, just a couple of things let the stay down due to what I think was an issue being short staffed and website inaccuracy. On arrival we were able to check in early which was great but our room was missing the nespresso machine clearly shown on the website for the twin city view (as a coffee person this is a massive selling point for me) and instead there were cheap sachets of instant coffee and creamer. Once I had used these trying to get more was a mission and after asking and waiting 40 mins I called again and was just told they were busy - which is poor. Our room wasn't cleaned/topped up and we therefore didn't have any clean cups or spoons etc I asked why & was simply told they did not know - I made the point that for a room that was over £170 a night this wasn't really good enough. We ate in the restaurant a few times and the food was great (the man checking us in for breakfast was lovely) however it was never overly busy and on the last night we sat for a long time no offer of anything else or the bill etc in the end I had to go and ask to pay and then we bought dessert somewhere else. I actually loved the location of this hotel (once we found it -listing the 26 tram details on the web would help) as it's a quieter part of the city and within walking distance to the parts of Amsterdam that are more child friendly - the zoo is within walking distance as well as parks. Bike hire is reasonably priced and easy and the pool area was great!
