The carpet outside the elevator (second floor) was soiled for two consecutive days, maybe more. I gave 2 stars for location right next to train station.

A great place to stay
My stay was very pleasant with a great breakfast and really friendly staff.Giving me free drink when they knew it was my birthday on 2nd March.Transport links to central Amsterdam good there's the train metro or tram,Bus.Best value is getting a public transport pass costs about £7.50 a day unlimited travel.You can buy on get your guide or the spar shop next to hotel.this gets you on the 51 metro or 19 tram or buses.ifyou get the train which is the quickest its about 5.90 euros return to central station .But public transport you see more.

Avoid it if you can !!! Horrible!!
The front desk staff are horrible tmlst of them do not know even the basic information about thier own hotel and rooms. The website mentions that there are safety deposit boxes in the room while the hotel staff 1 lady who works in the evening told me that we did not have a safety deposit box in our room as it was spoiled and removed while the 2 other ladies at the front desk in the morning had another answer. After having my previous reservation canceled that i have emailed confirmation from hotel.com i was told when i arrived at the hotel that there are 2 reservations under my name and i will be charged for both of them. When it was clearly thier negligence but i was told to call hotels.com to resolve the issue. After pleading them to cancel the other reservation the Manger did cancel it and made it seem that it was our fault not them. Thats just top notch customer sevice from hell. The location is all this hotel has going for itself. The area though at night is not safe as you have drunk men standing right outside the hotel door trying to get in all the time.
