Airport shuttle was on time. Staff at the reception desk where very friendly and welcoming. The service in the restaurant was dreadful. Had to wait for more than 10 minutes to be served. Part of my order was missing which resulted in a much longer wait for my food. That said the waiting staff were very pleasant maybe they need more customer Service training.

The Bastion is a great place to land arriving and leaving the Netherlands. Rooms are super clean and staff are friendly. 10 minutes away is a bus stop that takes you directly to the city of Amsterdam, about 40 min. ride. Very convenient. There are some very nice restaurants about 25 minutes walk along a busy road or a quieter garden walk behind the hotel. Shuttle bus is easy to find at the airport or there is a bike path from the airport directly to the hotel. Although there is only a bike stand outside the hotel if you are a bike traveler. The front desk area is shared by the Best Western and they are under construction, so it feels a bit chaotic on arrival. Breakfast buffet is very good for a small hotel. We stayed at the hotel twice on our trip and would recommend it to others.

Chose this hotel for a night's rest before heading to the airport. Food was decent at the restaurant, the waiter was great. The room was standard, nothing special. The bed was pretty comfortable, and the shuttle bus is nice to have. BTW - it goes every half hour, on the hour and 30 minute mark from the hotel, and every 15 and 45 minute marks from the airport, I believe from A9 if I remember correctly. I sent a message requesting this and didn't hear back, so hopefully that's helpful. Not a bad place for a night's rest before a flight.

Absolutely disgusting rooms. No heating in the hotel for all nights. Reception don’t care and just fob you off and no offer of any compensations or anything! Absolutely disgusting! Rooms are absolutely filthy! No housekeeping that bother! Management don’t care. Breakfast disgusting. Whole hotel is just a shambles! Avoid!!

Was there only one short night and all was OK, only thing I did not like was the fact that after dining we had to pay at the bar and wait a really long time. Why not give the wait staff a handheld device so that you can pay at the table.

When I checked in, they couldn’t find my reservation. Then they said I only had one room, but I had actually reserved 2. Thankfully, figured it out. The hallways were really grimy and the floors were dirty. The bathroom had hair on the towels and on the wall in the shower. The AC worked well. I felt safe staying there. The windows get very loud with the rain and wind. The bed was comfortable and seemed clean. The staff were very nice. I think it is just old and outdated and could use some better cleaning.

The only good thing about this property was the free shuttle to and from the airport. Otherwise, this place is a complete disaster. Especially if you are a woman - STAY AWAY FROM HERE!! This place was 95% male and it was so uncomfortable being here as a woman. I don’t know why this hotel seems to attract mainly men, but they make that very clear in their standards here as well. The rooms are filthy, there are little to no amenities (the bathroom literally just has toilet paper, soap, and towels - that’s it) and the rooms are minimally decorated. The beds are hard, and EVERYTHING is dusty. These rooms are never cleaned between guests and it’s disgusting. There is dust, hair, dirt, crumbs, and trash under and behind the beds, the counters are sticky and are not wiped, and the floors are dirty - your feet will be dirty from even just walking around in the room. My room and bathroom smelled like cigarette smoke and it was impossible to sleep. When I asked to be moved to a different room, they offered me a drink and then a free breakfast buffet. As if that will help me sleep! It was so uncomfortable staying here, I couldn’t wait to leave and went to the airport 3 hours early just to get out of this hotel. Yes this place is cheaper than other hotels, but if you value your pe as me of mind and comfort, please spend your money staying elsewhere or you will regret it.

Absolutely terrible customer service. We have not experienced this kind of unfriendly Cust service any where else so far Washbasin in the washroom was clogged. Refrigerator in the room was non functional for the entire period of our stay , inspite of bringing it to their attention When we checked in , we were assistant given keys to a Room # 234 , which was occupied by some guests when we opened that room it created a very unpleasant situation for us as well as the guests in that room . Thereafter we were assigned Room # 335, without any regret or remorse. Customer service in the restaurant was extremely poor. This Hotel can become an institution to train staff for providing POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, in case needed. We will regret our decision for choosing to stay there for long time . I hope you may take some suitable decision, so that other tourists do not face this kind of situation. Thanks
