I am not a picky traveler and I hate leaving bad reviews, especially at a place where the staff was so friendly. But this hotel was just bad overall. The elevator was broken so we had to lug bags up to the second floor through a very gross stairwell. There was trash in the stairwell and it looked like vomit stains. It also smelled. Once we got to the room, it was clean and in fine shape but it was so unbelievably hot and we could not sleep until I turned on the air conditioning in the room unit in the middle of the night. Our stay was in winter and it was snowing outside. we went to use the pool and it was the worst hotel pool I have seen. The attached hot tub in particular was in disrepair and had a film over the top of it. The pool itself was too freezing for even my young child who loves swimming to get in. It desperately needed cleaning. The staff was so nice and friendly so I feel bad writing this but this could just not overcome the issues. On the bright side, my kid really enjoyed breakfast.

WIFI was non existent. We tried for the two days we were there. My room was directly above the front desk, so it’s not like we were the farthest room from the front desk. Upon check out, I told the clerk about it, and she knew nothing about it.

A motel 6 is on the same property as the hotel; check in was rushed and unfriendly; difficult to get into the room as the door handle mechanism wasn't working properly, same with door on the side of building were the room was close to. This entry/exit was used to access my parked car and I got stuck out there late at night when getting something from my car; family member came out to find me and let me back in. The room had a low level s sweet mustly odor and the beds were uncomfortable. I only stayed on night and found another hotel for the remainder of my time in Ohio.

Not as good as expected

Usually HI Expresses are clean, and updated, but this place was not. Was dirty, room had a musty smell, AC did not work, and walls were paper thin. Breakfast was good, location was convenient to Cuyahoga National Parks for hiking, and staff was friendly. Wouldn't stay here again.
