"My stay had several serious issues that I believe need to be addressed, particularly regarding guest safety. There was no telephone in the room, which I consider a major safety concern. At approximately 3:00 a.m., a man with no shirt on, who appeared possibly under the influence, was knocking on our hotel room door. Thankfully, my adult son was traveling with me and told me not to open the door. However, had I been traveling alone, this situation would have been extremely frightening. Even though I have a cell phone, I believe hotel rooms should have a working telephone so guests can immediately contact the front desk or security in an emergency. There were also problems with the electrical and charging outlets in the room. The outlets were loose/stripped and would not hold our charging plugs properly, making it difficult to safely charge our phones. In addition, there was no remote control for the television. Because we could not turn the television off without the remote, I had to unplug the entire TV system from the wall just to turn it off. These were not simply minor inconveniences. The combination of no room telephone, unsafe or worn electrical outlets, no TV remote, and an unknown man knocking on our door at 3:00 in the morning made me very concerned about the condition of the room and guest safety. I hope Hotels.com and Red Lion take these concerns seriously and make the necessary improvements so that future guests, especially women or anyone traveling alone, can"
