Always a cozy stay, regardless of the time of year. Easy access to the New River park, Wytheville, and just away enough from everyone else (without being inaccessible) this is a place I've been to several times in the last year and keep coming back when I need to get away somewhere quiet.

I used to visit this area as a child often, as my family lives nearby. I always loved this little log cabin setting on the corner of the road and a creek. Not far from the shot tower, which is a great park, and the New River Trail. To see it on this site for temporary rent was great. I booked it for a pre-holiday stay and it will now be my go-to place. It was so warm and cozy when the temperatures are quite cold outside, and the fact that there’s a full bathroom on the second floor with the bedroom is wonderful. Yes the steps are steep to get to the bedroom, but they’re very doable and you don’t have to come down again till the next morning. It’s a little bit like house on the Prairie, but your little house in the mountains. And the owners are so communicative and lovely. Highly recommend.

From the inviting front porch rockers to the peaceful brook beside the cabin, everything was thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. We were grateful for the multiple heating units (one in the kitchen, one in the living room, and one upstairs), for when we arrived on a freezing day, the cabin was nice and toasty! It was awesome having a good chunk of land to walk the dog around, plus it's less than a mile away from the New River Trail, which we were able to walk extensively.The kitchen had everything you need, pans, coffee-maker, fridge/freezer. It truly feels like a cabin experience with all the amenities you're used to at home.The one drawback was based off location - you could hear the traffic from route 77 where we were, so didn't quite fit the "we're the only folks here for miles" vibe we were hoping to get with a cabin getaway. I absolutely cannot fault the owners for this, though! They did truly everything they could to make our stay comfortable.

Wedding weekend at West Wind Vineyard

This cabin was adorable, impeccably clean, and less than 5 miles away from the wedding we attended. The cabin is also very close to Foster Falls, Shot Tower, and New River Trail Park.
