This was my second trip to Cape Town and wanted to visit again to get a better feel for the city and to have some down time after my safari in Namibia The location of the hotel was perfect - My only issue is that the hotel needs to be updated - The staff were wonderful - Front desk to the housekeepers Overall it was an ok experience - The hotel just needs to be updated
The Ritz is in a great location, but needs a MAJOR update. It is stuck in the early 1990's... Great views from the rooms and staff was friendly. The bathroom needed a VERY deep cleaning. Internet should be provided in the price as the hotel targets many business professionals wanting to stay closer to the seaboard. It got VERY expensive buying internet cards from the front desk. Do a cosmetic update.... people like me would stay again and pay a bit more if you did!
The name is misleading, this is not the Ritz, it is the pits. There were huge gang fights, fired shots, screams for help, prostitutes, you name it, it was there. Felt completely unsafe, have to call security because the room next door was having a loud party late at night, there were even people drinking and sleeping in the hall way outside the room. I was fooled by the nice location close to the beach, the fancy advertisement, and the promotional deal. My recommendation is to stay away.
Hotel was in a great location. the staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. the rooms were good but could use some updating. overall I would stay there again.

Nice location, Nice view, but the hotel needs renovation, AND there where cockroaches in my room. Nice people in the reception. Very helpful
The location was good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in serious need of a revamp. Carpet worn, bathroom tiles missing or broken, hair in the traps. Three tour buses in one morning made for a very busy breakfast room and lobby.
