came as a group of 6 and stayed in a dorm that fitted all of us well. clean and comfortable room with a heater. the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. we would definitely stay here again :)
Fabulous location. Quiet considering it's position. Super helpful friendly staff. However our beds had 4 differing mattress in our bunk room. Mine was half the thickness of an average squab so super uncomfortable , the kids were fine. Free breakfast is water based pancake batter , lemon and sugar ...diy.. and light evening meal we ate once.. taken next door in a pub not really suitable for kids it was atrocious but for a young back packer just needing to fill their stomachs it was edible. Just.. we had a great time in Wellington and Nomads is such good value but don't be swayed by the food option if you are a family, we made or bought our own. Room was clean as were the sheets and bathroom.
One of the best hostels I've stayed in, everything was clean there were many bathrooms each with one or toilets and showers in them so defiantly didn't feel like we were sharing. We stayed in a four bedroom share and the only thing really was that the sheets could of been bit cleaner. There were two heaters in our room, and the overall place was pretty quiet at night. The place was modern and nice but as we stayed there for a week it could of done with new mattresses. Very central location and was a good walking or cheap uber to most places, staff were also very friendly and helpful despite having to deal with rude guests. Free tea and coffee and pancakes was a plus. Very good for a hostel
we booked a four bedroom on suit . it was clean and warm with the heater. the bathroom was adequate and clean, beds were comfy although bunks were a little squeaky. the four of us were impressed with the overall cleanliness of the whole backpackers, free evening meal next door was nice and filling $5.00 drinks a bonus. Free pancakes in morning but kitchen was really busy and we were not there to cook while on girls weekend away. the back courtyard was well kept free tea and coffee always available. and so central made it for a very relaxing comfortable easy stay in wellington.staff were very welcoming and efficient would totally recommend for all age groups. we all felt very safe and secure as well. thank you nomads
The facility itself was alright, we had free tea and pancakes which was great, and the location in the city was convenient. Unfortunately we had very annoying roommates, who smelt bad, came home drunk during earliest hours, and snored like 13 dwarves...they were only 3. So we tried evading our room. The air in the room was bad because there was only one small window and one of the toilets was broken. The beds were squeaky but comfy and the shower(s) were nice. There was always someone at the reception and the staff was friendly and helpful. So in total, it was a good place to stay and explore beautiful Wellington.
If you're looking for basic accommodation in a great location in wellington, nomads is fine for a day or 2. Some things to note are: no free Wi-Fi, very noisy bunk beds, very small kitchen, no BYO (because they have a licensed bar) and really thin mattresses. On the plus: free pancakes!
Positives -warm shower, overall clean and quiet room, free dinner was average Negatives -pillows smelt greasy, cold room (during winter), difficult to find parking, expensive parking when found, no TV in room, long line in reception, advertised pancakes but was actually milk and flower, paid wifi in room with weak connection, kitchen and common areas did not feel clean, I was in the middle of cooking, what I thought was pancakes, when they took the communal batter away at 9am sharp with no warning to the people cooking
The location is perfect, close for shopping, clubs and places to eat. Clean rooms, great security using your own personal swipe card. Great breakfast idea 'Free Breakfast' just cook your own. Maybe just a bit of plumbing for the water to go down in the ensuite shower and sink. However I would stay again and tell others.
Definitely stay here again .. clean, friendly, central to everything. Kitchen has everything needed .. including free pancakes, tea and coffee .. with free light dinner makes this the ideal backpacker destination and a bar just next door!
Stayed for a couple of days in a room with private bathroom. Very clean, basic TV, and really quiet, looks like a hotel. The pancakes are great, and kinda compensate the paid internet ($4-24h, $12 a week) altough it was not very stable in the room. Some of the staff wasn't very helpful. Great location
