Good hotel even if a the front is really the back but access out to Lambton Quay is manageable. Got a room upgrade which was appreciated. In room facilities all good except tv screen resolution. So poor couldn't see what speed Team NZ was doing in our race against Oracle. Good food at Caucus restaurant.
There is always a warm welcome at the Novotel and the Wellington property continues this service. Very helpful staff especially in dealing with small pre booked breakfast request date change. Complimentary gym arrangement is very good as is the hotels location with lift straight down to Lambton Quay CBD. Perfect for business and leisure.
We had visited the hotel for two nights late in May and on our return journey, we stayed for another two nights in June. This time, we got our welcome drinks, being members of Accor Hotels Le Club. Different staff on duty, but still good service. The gym is modern, but there are just treadmills, one bench and some dumbbells. And its very small. Overall, this hotel is good value for money, but you will need to walk some distance to get to the main grouping of restaurants. We used a car to around, but Wellington is best explored on foot. Finding parking in Wellington CBD on Friday or Saturday night is not easy. There is limited street parking, so be prepared to pay extra for your vehicle should you not be one of the lucky ones. Did I say Wellington is best explored on foot?
The room was great, the service was fabulous at the actual Novotel. I emailed the website twice once about parking and they advised there was no available parking. We found other parking only to turn up at the Novotel and be advised by the staff that they had valet parking. Grrrr. Then we had booked the restaurant early via the website, only to be told by the staff at Novotel that they hadn't received the booking. Double Grrrrrr. We managed to get a table but the food was really substandard for the price. My hamburger bun was TOTALLY burnt and my husbands meal was also over cooked. The free breakfast the next morning was a joke as you couldn't get into the restaurant it was so busy. So we went somewhere else. Really disappointing experience.
Novotel Wellington represents good value ion the heart of New Zealand's capital. The service standards in all departments are excellent with special accolades to the Food& Beverage Manager who runs a very fine restaurant and bar. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and functional. All the facilities expected of a business hotel are available.
We had a lovely stay as a family at Novotel Wellington. We choose the bed and breakfast option which I'd highly recommend with a great buffet breakfast offered daily! Rooms were very modern and lovely and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful, We would happily return. Location was also great with lift access directly down to central Lambton Quay.
Stayed here 3 nights when we were in Wellington. Comfortable and modern rooms and centrally located to many tourist attractions within the city, few feet away from Lambton Quay. No free parking but got discounted parking for $25 a night next door. all and all good stay.
We stayed here with our children and the staff could not have been more helpful, polite and friendly. They even gave the kids some little plush toys that they still have and love. Breakfast was incredible with a wide selection of food to chose from. The location was central to everything and everywhere for sight seeing and business. The room was clean and had basic toiletries and had two queen beds so the kids could stay for no extra charge. All in all - highly recommend.
Nice and close to Lambton quay down thru the secret lift. Restaurant evening meal was very nice as was the full buffet breakfast .Staff are very friendly and helpful with late check outs and ordering taxis
Only stayed for one night so did not get to see a lot but would definitely pick this hotel again when I get to visit Wellington in the future. I am an Accor member and Novotel hotels are always top of our list when choosing a hotel for our family trips. I picked this hotel because of its good location at The Terrace and 5 min easy access to our car rental shop in Victoria street. The main highway, Motorway 1, is also minutes away from this hotel. As a first time visitor to New Zealand doing a road trip from Wellington to Auckland, strategic location was very important for us and this hotel definitely has it.
