This is the second time I stayed here and I noticed some important improvements over my first stay. Altogether, I enjoyed it and will consider this hotel on a next stay. The staff was very friendly, and the location is very convenient. Especially if you take the elevator down to Lambton Quay, you're just a few minutes away from where the stores are. There is also a Countdown supermarket there. That is very convenient. A walk to the waterfront takes about 5 minutes. My room was on the 3-rd floor, on the waterfront side, but the view was totally blocked by the offices in front of it. You definitely need to be on a higher floor to get a nice view. The room was very clean, and large enough for my needs. The bed was comfortable, and the chaise lounge was practical. The work desk was certainly big enough, but don't forget your power plug adapter, because the New Zealand format is supported only. This time, the Wi-Fi worked well. Reliable and fast enough. The fee was waived, since I'm a member of the Accor hospitality program. I liked the fact that the mini-bar had some space left for my own goodies, some fruit juice in particular. There is also a water boiler with complimentary tea and coffee. The built-in safe is convenient, but very small. Certainly my 15" laptop did not fit in it. The bathroom is spacious, but has a dreadful appearance. This is really a huge dissonant with the rest of the interior. Stark white all over, including the tiles, but also the towels, etc, and a blinding white light. This is a pity, because the shower, combined with the bathtub, works well. The white linen is not comfortable and too much of a sandpaper experience. Definitely room for improvement here. The breakfast buffet was nice. Sufficient choices and good quality food, including eggs cooked to order for those who don't like the standard choice. You can also get fresh coffee either from a machine, or made to your specifications by a barista. The buffet is not cheap, but I find it worth my money.

As always it didn't dissapoint. The staff were wonderful and remembered me from my last visit. The rooms are so well appointed and by far have the most comfortable beds of any hotel we have stayed at. So for our weekend awayit was just amazing to catch upon sleep and feel extra special. Nothing was a problem. This Hotel is so central and the choice of restaurants within a 5 minute walk is incredible. After a night out it was just a short walk home. We took our motorbike and we parked it underneath safe and sound. Already planning our next trip.

If you want a clean, nothing fancy, close to the central city hotel this place is perfect. For my business trip it’s great because it’s close to my office. The people at their reception are always friendly and welcoming. When I checked in, it was getting quite busy and when someone came waiting to be served, another receptionist came out immediately to serve. Gym is tiny (tiniest I have ever seen) but good enough if you are not planning to do super weight sessions. Room provides 2 complimentary water bottles which is always great. Food at the restaurant was well presented but mediocre and pricey. If you are just looking for a place to conveniently stay with comfortable experience and not looking for luxurious room to treat yourselves, spa to pamper, a buffet with varieties of food then I recommend here.

The location of this restaurant in middle of the shopping precinct and close to the waterfront would be hard to beat. It was a nuisance to come home at 3.0pm - ish and find the room still not done but that seems to be the case in lots of hotels when you are having a multi-night stay.

We stayed two nights at this hotel, and I was positively met by Peter at the front desk, who patiently did a bit of re-arranging of rooms to get us the rooms we wanted. The rooms were spacious with just the basics of what you need. Wifi is also free for people who are Accor members. The breakfast and dinner restaurant was also pretty decent. Hotel location was just above a small shopping centre, and you could easily access the shopping street Lambton quay through hotel elevators which was really good. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel mainly because of its friendly staff.

Comfortable hotel with friendly service. Rooms are a little dated but the staff really went out of their way to make us welcome. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed good food and more great service here too

We had a short family break to Wellington and stayed here for 4 nights. Service was genuinely fantastic. Right from ringing them to book because the Accor online system is a pain to use, especially when trying to book a family room (2 interconnecting rooms) Jared the duty manager was excellent to deal with and organised the interconnecting rooms on a high floor and the free breakfast deal I couldn’t organise online. Then special mention also for Pankit who worked the breakfast buffet area. The rooms were comfortable and clean as you expect with Novotel. Breakfast was very good in terms of selection and keeping the trays stocked up right to the end. Location was also excellent, lift down to Lambton Quay, with a Countdown supermarket right there (and McDonalds) and a couple of blocks to the waterfront and about 10min walk to Te Papa Museum. Would definitely stay here again.

We found the hotel very convenient and comfortable. The room was very adequate, though not much view. The bed was very large and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. We found the staff friendly and helpful.

Easy check in because a checked in online and arrived late. Staff were fantastic and the room was great. Bigger than I had expected. Clean and roomy with a very comfortable bed. Had breakfast included and well worth it, Great choices and they even offered to cook me eggs to order. Great location with the CBD at your doorstep.

Pros: - Lovely modern hotel with nice big room, that was quiet with comfortable bed - Great central location for shopping - decent buffet breakfast with lots of options Cons: - Parking is expensive ($22 for 12hrs or $30 for a valet service) - Staff were polite, but could have been a little friendlier / personable. - view from our room looked into an office building. (I think there’s an option to pay for a view though) - Had some important lost property & was promised a call back the following morning but didn’t hear back & had to chase up myself more than once. All in all a nice place & location a major positive factor but as an Accor staff member in Australia it didn’t quite live up to other properties we’ve stayed at over NZ though definitely has the potential to & perhaps staff were having a rough few days.
