One night stay. Nice modern chic hotel in centre of Wellington. Easy walk to quayside area. Room was nice with kitchen and washing facilities. Ate in restaurant which was reasonably priced. Nice breakfast buffet. Parking is additional.

First time at this hotel, but not suitable for me. The price was ok, the staff were friendly & helpful, but the general standard is a little below par in my opinion. Room was average and the food/dinner service was overpriced and light on quantity. Apart from all this, for me the location is a little remote from the CBD and waterfront area, especially with the terrain of Wellington. Think I'll go back to my usual hotel next visit.

We had a lovely stay at the Bolton Hotel. The rooms are clean and very spacious. Friendly staff and a good location (only a 5-10 minute walk from Lambton Quay). Breakfast menu is very good with many options other than just "full breakfast" and "continental".

What a wonderful hotel. Excellent room? Check. Excellent staff? Check. Excellent food? Check. Everything else? Check. Can not praise this hotel highly enough, everyone one was so helpful and friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Special mention to Mattheaus (apologies for spelling) he went out of his way many times to give advise and help, even got out car down to get a coat out. Incidentally, it is well worth the extra for valet parking - $30 a day and they bring your car to you as many times as you like.

Service on reception was basic. It had everything you need, but wouldn't call it a luxury hotel. Room was so tiny, stayed in 1606a at back . Ask for a room with view and a big room . Probably wouldn't stay again

Concierge Matias, Robert and Sean made our stay extra special, and there was a group of 8 of us! They were genuine and engaging without being intrusive. They went out of their way to make sure our visit to their hotel and to Wellington was a memorable one. The rooms were spacious, clean and quiet. Being able to do laundry was a big bonus. Excellent location. Easy to walk everywhere. We highly recommend this warm and very friendly hotel.

The staff made a great first impression and lived up to it for the duration of our stay. We arrived on Christmas Day, 2016 (yeah, I'm a little behind on my reviews), having chosen Bolton Hotel because it was one of the few places in town where we could get dinner on Christmas - and we wanted that after cooking our own breakfast at a wilderness lodge that morning ;-) Another reason we chose Bolton was that you could get rooms with clothes washers & driers, which we needed before embarking on the next leg of our adventure. Now, the memory is a little fuzzy, but I think we had some issues with how quickly (actually how SLOWLY!) our washers/dryers worked; but, nonetheless, we had clean, dry clothes in time for checkout. Checkout was Dec. 27, when a lot of people are still on holiday, including people who might have been working at the parking deck across the street. Something was wrong with the machines, and I could NOT get out of the parking deck! Fortunately, a person working concierge was able to phone the parking company, help me pay my bill, and get the rental car out in time to return it and make our flight out of town. I hate to think what would have happened if I were in that situation in my home town. So, extra props to the staff at Bolton Hotel! All four of us may have been able to fit into one room, but my wife and I got one room and we put the boys (18 and 13 at the time) in another. This was partially in response to the preceding night at the wilderness lodge, which was great in its own way, but left us ready for modern amenities :-)

Wow, what a great hotel. Superbly finished, very well outfitted in the kitchen area with really great appliances, a washer/dryer and everything you need to make a meal which we ended up doing tonight as we were tired from a full day of driving. Spacious living room and eating area and nicely appointed bedroom and large bathroom. Great thought went into the layout and what a guest would need AND the staff could not have been more helpful. They were so welcoming and helpful on arrival. I’d give it an easy 5/5*!!!!! I was so pleased that I wrote our travel agent and told her how pleased we were with everything!

From the warm and efficient staff at reception and concierge this hotel is a great find so close to the heart of the capital city...it is a big hotel but it doesn't feel that way with the cosy reception area with coffee and more spaces up a curving feature staircase....I was on the 4th floor facing the historic Bolton cemetery which is an iconic Wellington site from the 1880's and the room was lovely and also private so I left the curtains open and read in the sun. The kitchen area is fully fitted out and offered the option of self catering but the cafes and restaurants were too much to resist....a delightful place to stay with a strong link to Wellington's history....a delight !

1 We booked 14th floor but when we arrived only 13th was available, which is acceptable 2 When we got to the room, we are so disappointed by their bad ventilation system and a building shaded us from views But what made me to rate one star is their VERY unprofessional service. When I finished checking out, they did not find my card was declined at the spot. They said thank you and goodbye. After that I went abroad. A month later, their manager sent me an email said they gonna took their video of me to the police because my card was declined and they called me but I did not answer. I was so shocked they offended and insulted me like that! I feel so disgusted on both their stupid stuff and also their backward system.
