CityLife Wellington

Stayed here 14/15 october. Was put in room 101 in the basement, was dark dingy and right at the back. a really horrible room. Totally unacceptable. I went to reception and asked to change rooms and would have left and found something else if we werent moved. The staff on reception were very accommodating and moved us to room 701., which was alot better. Prob wouldnt stay here again though. Would choose Rydges, copthorne or intercontinental instead.

We recently spent three nights at Citylife Wellington and found it a really convenient base for exploring the city. Arrived on Lambton Quay and unusually had to go up to reception (there is a top entrance as well) where we received a friendly and helpful welcome. What we hadn't known when we booked was that the Citylife hotels are green and sustainable which is a positive. We were given a map and detailed hints on where to visit, where to eat and transport. Our room was very comfortable (bed slightly soft for our taste) with a spacious living area and useful kitchen area. There are other rooms with bigger kitchen and laundry facilities but this was fine for us. The hotel is close to the cable car lane, restaurants, shops and plenty of frequent public transport. When we left we were able to store luggage and book a green cab. Would be happy to stay here again.

We booked two suites for our stay in Wellington for a family wedding, and although they weren't adjacent at first the staff were quick to move us once the next door room became available. Fantastic central location meant we could walk or bus everywhere, and we did explore the whole city! Was great having the shops at our feet, and a very convenient supermarket was within 5 minutes. We had an executive suite which was spacious and a perfect gathering place for extended family to get together. We also loved the convenience of having a good kitchen. The airport shuttle stop is only a few metres walk from the front door, so it is very convenient

Great little hotel. Very convient to everything. Rooms clean, tidy, well equiped. Staff awesome and so helpful. We have travelled to Egypt, UK, USA, Asia, France, Rome plus more and would recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for two nights to see WOW. Very close to arena (5min walk) and centre of town. Staff very helpful but rooms tired and in bad need of repair and refurbishment, and it wasn’t cheap! There were cigarette butts on the ledge outside our window. I found myself gazing longingly at the Intercontinental over the road!

CityLife Wellington is in a great location. Exit the building right onto Lambton Quay shops. Minutes from wharf, Beehive, museums, cable car etc. Staff are welcoming and efficient. Two bedroomed/two bathroomed rooms are spacious and well stocked. This place actually gives you loads of different teas, coffee choices etc and top it up each day. Carton of milk in the fridge - not the small 20ml dose usually found. Soaps, shampoos etc are beautiful and topped up each day. Room service is excellent.

We were only here for 1 night, but it had all we needed. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one with a separate washer and dryer was perfect. Plenty of room to spread out and full kitchen, so we could choose to eat in our go out. Supermarket is just around the corner, so really easy to self-cater. The street address is not where the parking is, so it would be a better idea to give out that address (can't park out the front, so we had to park around the corner and then come in to figure out where the parking is)

Well Wellington can certainly live up to its reputation about being windy!! As for the hotel, I couldn't fault it I paid for an upgrade to the bigger room which was well worth it if you are staying for a couple of nights. Very big for in the city, within walking distance to everything once you found your way around. The only thing is the entrance if you are travelling in a car is around the back up a hill etc so be sure to find out first.

Hotel is in a terrible location. shower pressure and water flow was shocking would of been better off using a cup. I was charged a parking fee to park the car myself and then park it outside in the street. hotel is need of a revamp tap in bathroom was so loose you had to hold it to turn it on so that tells me they do not clean well an do nil maintenance

We stayed for 2 nights during the school holidays. The price was reasonable for 3 adults and 2 children, and we were in a two bedroom apartment, with kitchen, lounge and dining area. The apartment was very spacious and there was plenty of space to spread out. The disappointment was the quality of the place. It was opened in 1995 and doesn't look like it's had any money spent on it since. It's pretty tired and there is plenty of evidence of wear and tear and the beige interior makes everything seem a bit dated. If it were upgraded it would be amazing!!!! The location is great - you are right on lambton quay on the ground floor. We didn't have breakfast with our room because we made our own in our room. There was a supermarket just below the hotel to the left so easy to get what you need. The breakfast area on level 6 didn't look too flash so I wouldn't have booked that. The staff at city life were just lovely and extremely helpful - we couldn't fault them.
