This hotel is very centrally located for the city center activities. We had a little difficulty arriving at the proper spot, is was rush traffic and the end of a long driving day. The staff was exceptional, very friendly and helpful. Our room was great, facing the downtown side with peek views of the water front. The room was very clean and very comfortable. There was limited parking at the hotel (on the back side of the hotel), so we parked and left the car, walking to the attractions was that easy. The continental breakfast was quite adequate, and the staff very attentive.
Great location, room was clean and well presented. Parking was a distance from the hotel as we arrived late at night and parking building was a very tight squeeze for our larger vechile and the $23 charge was steep for only being there a few hours. However Overall pleasant stay and would definitely stay again.
after arriving early, I was able to check in and leave my bags while I explored. I had never been to Te Papa so the reception staff gave me a map and were able to show me the easiest way to get there. I recived a text to say that my room was ready, which was really helpful. I went and got my key card and bag to find they had put my bag in my room which was wonderful. the reoom was comfy and I enjoyed curling up on the couch.. The staff were really good when I checked out the next morning as they were able to let me down to Lampton Quay so I could do a bit of last minute shopping and to catch the bus when I pcked up my bags to catch the bus
We had a room on the 6th floor, which I believe is the top floor. Because our room looked out on Lambton Quay from a side wall of the building, our room (I forget room #) only had 1 small window. So, our room was quite dark and somewhat depressing due to this. We tried not to spend too much time in the room so this wasn't so big a deal but it would have been nice to come back to someplace better. This floor is also the same floor as the hotel lobby / reception. I was worried we would hear noise from it, but did not. Instead we were woken up by people in neighboring rooms knocking on each other's doors at 2am and then speaking (quarreling?) somewhat loudly in Chinese for some time. The amenities in the room (bed, bathroom) were satisfactory. Room also had a kitchenette but we did not use. We do not understand how anyone does, all they provided were two extremely small pots to cook in. Plus there was a stern warning about not setting off smoke detectors if you cook. It was just ok, I would probably look for something nicer if we return to Wellington on a future trip. Oh, and you need your room key out practically all the time to operate elevator. I think we could go down to ground floor without using it, but that was the only exception, needed it all other times.
Location was amazing with supermarket/eateries( best Mac Donalds ever, hot food every time service quick, friendly) Westpac Stadium, good walk with historic features along way, staff very helpful , with map of city to get to destinations. Could not fault🌞
I had a room at the front which had nice outlook, and I wasn't bothered by noise. The problem was that aircon only in main room of apartment and not very effective. So while it wasn't that hot when I was there (about 25C outside) it was hot and stuffy inside, and aircon very noisy. It would definitely benefit from an upgrade. Housekeeping was excellent and the place seemed super clean all the time. Its such a great location.
It’s always nice to arrive at a hotel to find you have been given an upgrade. This was our first hotel in NZ and the service was outstanding from the team on reception (evening of Sunday 25th Feb) - genuine and friendly. The rooms are older style but spacious, clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Highly recommend
We stayed here in February, occupying a 2 bedroom executive suite, with 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming and the rooms were of a good size. The location of the hotel is ideal - right in the middle of town, within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, supermarket, bars, the harbour area and the cable car. The only downside to our stay was the smell in one of the bedrooms: someone had obviously vomited over the carpet at some point prior to our stay and despite it having been cleaned up, the rancid smell had seeped into the underlay. We notified reception about this and they sent someone up to do a thorough clean while we were out for the day. Unfortunately, while this helped a bit, it didn’t completely clear the problem. We bought a can of aerosol carpet deodorant and used this (liberally!) to improve the ambiance a little. We also slept with the window open and the bedroom door open wide. We were otherwise happy with the apartment so put up with the tainted air for the remaining 2 nights of our stay in Wellington.
The location of this hotel, directly adjacent to the cable car line and ticket office, was a perfect home base for exploring Wellington. The room(s) were comfortable, clean, and quiet. The laundry facilities in the room were wonderful (though a bit loud if run at night). Bennie, in particular, at the front desk was warm and helpful in helping us with what we needed. All staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming.
Studio room well appointed, comfortable bed, lovely friendly hotel staff felt breakfast was a bit of a rip off two slices of gluten free toast cost me $17 - needs a little tweaking to fit the guest. But an excellent location with buses at the door, walking distance to great restaurants and shopping
