Arrived to a couple of guys chatting on the other side of the counter, waited for them to finish and approached them about our booking. I was asked for a deposit even though they had my credit card details. The room was so hot we couldn't stay in there too long. Only 1 window would open the other was blocked and there was no air con. We asked for a fan. That lasted 5mins as it was taped up and the front ended up flying off. After a terrible sleep both nights and a headach for our whole time away due to dehydration, we went for breakfast on our last morning, I signed the card to accept $19.50 per full breakfast and got charged $25, when I asked the guy said yea sorry bout that that is last year prices. Is it legal to charge more than what I signed for? This hotel could really do with air con and some tlc both inside and out.

The check in staff were fantastic. Very polite and friendly young ladies. Aside from that, it was all down hill. It was very hot the night I stayed in Wellington, and the air conditioning (if there was any) wasn’t working, so had to have the windows open. I was in a room overlooking Willis street, which was incredibly loud and busy. It’s location is quite isolated from the centre of Wellington, especially as I didn’t have a car. Wouldn’t stay here again.

This is a good value hotel in the middle of wellington close to all the bars and restaurants on Cuba St. The rooms were comfortable although one was a bit hot. Note that hotel parking is limited and you need to request it when you book your hotel room. Its $15/night and worth calling to confirm it is sorted. There are other parking places nearby but probably be more. There was a lot of confusion on this when we checked in and I felt sorry for the staff as they received the brunt of a lot of angry customers who couldn't park outside. Sort it beforehand and its no issue.

I arrived at the hotel after a delayed flight in from Auckland. As a solo female traveller being put at the furtherest corner of the top floor did not give a sense of security and personal safety. Travelling from the room to the lift was a bit unnerving. The windows in the room didn’t stay open and with no air con the room was hot and stuffy. The window in the bathroom had half covered in a film, however as the bath/shower was a fiat step up I honestly felt somewhat exposed in the shower, especially as I could see into other surrounding buildings. Also the step up / down from the shower when it was wet had me concerned about slipping. The room was near a staff door that banged when someone went through them. The blinds didn’t provide decent privacy nor darkness. My key card didn’t work so had to go back down. This was rectified by the staff member in a very efficient and apologetic manner. The bacon on the breakfast buffet was of a good quality. I would not stay here again.

Utterly disappointed. Run down, needs a complete refurbishment. Was so tempted to check out early. 2/5 because it was clean and breakfast was ok (but scarce - empty pastry baskets and coffee by 8:30!)

Old, very basic, not clean, there is no air-conditioning, there is no way to keep (the broken) window open, empty fridge (not even a bottle of water) and checking in took a long time. Not a good experience!

Clean rooms with the facilities you need, was a nice change after a few days in a grotty hostel. Staff were friendly enough and the internet connection was pretty good. Would probably be most similar to a Travelodge in the UK.

This Hotel looks pretty good and upon entering looks better. The reception area looks like it has just been refurbished. Got our room ok . Asked where to park the car and was told a car park 10 minute walk away and charges $15 for 12 hours . So consequently had to get up at 7 am to renew the permit. We were at this hotel for two nights so total charge for car park was $45. Later enquired where the Bar was ..Did not have one ,or a Restaurant for dinner(breakfast was ok) Did not get much sleep as the windows and doors rattled all night. Upon inspection the wooden windows were rotten so could not be opened or shut . The room was clean and the staff ok. There is a lounge area on the ground floor to lounge as this all you could do because no bar.

i stayed here for the first time. this hotel was excellent, clean, tidy, the room was lovely. it was clean, the room was excellent, and for the price being so reasonable. this is the place i would stay at each time. this hotel would be my first pick. i could not fault it. staff were lovely, and this hotel was a short walk to the bus that connected to the airport flyer bus, and to miramar to see Weta. and also into the main shopping center of wellington.

We stayed here 2 nights. Hotel is a bit away from CBD but still in a walking distance. Near hotel has a 7 days food court, it's quite convenience Room is small but comfortable and clean. Breakfast is a little bit poor, not many choice and close at 10am but actually we could not have our breakfast at 9:30am on 2nd days!! Reception is friendly and helpful.
