This is the nastiest hotel I've ever stayed in. The first night they had a kids party above us and we asked the office if they could move us or ask the people to stop stomping non stop on our ceiling but they said oh they are having a party for kids up there but it will end at 9pm. Then they said they had no more rooms to move us. So i asked if we could just refund our money to go to another hotel. But they refused. So I woke up at 2am to drive 15 hrs and didn't get to sleep until after midnight because this party that was said to end at 9pm. The room is disgusting. They have black mold by the tub. The tub doesn't hold the water. They have holes in the walls. The bed is a springy mess. They don't even clean the room each day. They emptied the trash and threw the blankets sloppily on the beds. I hate this place and can't wait to get the heck out of here.
I would not even rate this hotel.... I took pictures and mine do not even look like what they show in the ad. Smoke free??? Think again.... Handicapped room?? You could not even use the tub & shower -- too many grab bars!! Couch was so bad I would not even sit on it. This place should be demolished!! Curtains were falling off the rods, holes in the walls, spots painted with another color on the walls, cigarette burns on the bathroom vanity, dirty lamps, holes in the lampshades, bunched up pillows, thin blankets -- need I go on?? Breakfast area had 3 little tables with 2 chairs!!!! The danish container had sooooo many finger marks on it -- never cleaned!! I work in hospitality and woud be ashamed to have my breakfast area look like this!! Never again would I stay here. Run like hell ......
I was in the area to visit friends and stayed at Econo Lodge Waukegan for 5 nights. I was very happy and satisfied with my stay. Please ignore other trip advisor reviews and I would recommend to stay here for friendly service and clean rooms.
This hotel was chosen based on its proximity between Milwaukee and Chicago. When we pulled up the building looked nice. The room was another story. Our first room was sketchy at best and the air conditioner didn't work. I called the front desk and they didn't have any other rooms so maintenance would come up. He let us take the room across the hall which was slightly better. But the carpet was dirty, the box spring fell through to the floor when you sat on the bed, and the bedding had cigarette burns on every part of it. There were no screens on the windows and there was a visible hole in the wall that sealed the "we're leaving" deal. I went to the front desk and asked for a refund. The lady was nice and didn't put up a fight. I don't think I'll ever stay at an Econolodge again after that short visit. Do yourself a favor and pay more to stay elsewhere.
Stayed at this hotel over the weekend and it wasn't too bad. We just wanted a cheap room so we could spend the bulk of our money shopping an doing things. The room was clean. The worst part was the fact that we had a room next to the stairs so we heard people walking up and down. Overall we got what we paid for which was only $30.
The price really should have been the giveaway. Although staff was nice, the facilities and furnishings were really shabby. The couch in the room was so worn the fabric was shiny and greasy looking. No bedside table meant no way to turn lights on and off from bed. The air unit in the wall required the air either be on loudly or completely off. The handheld shower did not work. Wi-fi was sporadic. If you are traveling to this area... my advice is to stay somewhere else.
In one word horrible. Now to the details. After a long working day I just wanted to have a nice shower shower, so some paper work and to bed. When I come to the reception I had to shout for 5 minutes until someone came. The girl at the reception definitely was not the most welcoming person I met. Near the reception was a room that 21st first glance looked like a dinning room but strange noise came out of there, yep it is also a laundry room. After I finely got the key from my room and entered the bathroom I discovered that it is very old, some kind of matt was poorly glued on the tub floor, rust on the valve, the cold and hot water not complying with the real situation( after I removed my glasses it looked less disgusting 😆). When I sat on the armchair I felt the wooden board in my bottom. There is a table but oops there is no chair to sit on. In order to switch off the bedside lamp you have to switch off the switch near the door to the room. The blanket very thin and so on....if you need to stay for one night do yourself a favor and spend 10 $ more to have a normal hotel and if you have to stay longer well...I'm not sure how long one can survive here.
I was attending my boyfriend's Naval graduation, I came across this hotel. It stated it was close and convenient. First time in IL, I just have to say it was NOTHING like the photos. I mean, you pay for what you get. It was cheap, I was only there for 2 days, so overall the front desk was very helpful but Econo Lodge shouldn't deceive people like they're doing. It's dirty, rusty, and I was even afraid to pull off the sheets. Wouldn't recommend or stay there again.
Because I am a IHG member this hotel was on the list to use points at. OMG talking about HORRIFIC this place needs to be shut down and boarded up. How do you run a business and don't try to upgrade the place. I made a reservation and upon arriving I asked to see the room. I would never stay in this place. The air freshener used in the room choked me upon opening the door. the bed spread look like a curtain and the sheets were so thin I could see my hand underneath. How could anyone in there right mind give Jay Patel a dime to stay here. The windows are outdated. Screens are missing and the pictures and carpet is hideous. Please know I am not making this up. Don't ever book your stay here. I saw people there but it look like a place where drug addicts and prostitutes go for a quick stay. I am too classy to ever be seen in a place that represents a hotel. NO WAY should they be on the list rather its free or NOT. Please UPDATE and don't send me NO automatic reply because I talked to you. Then they had the nerve to charge my card saying I didn't cancel in time. I am disputing that charge. I am disgusted with establishments such as yours.
This is not a hotel for families. Pretty sure prostitution is going on at this hotel - room came with its own black light and used towel in the bathroom. Unfortunately, we had booked and paid months ahead. We arrived around midnight on a weekday!
