This hotel is in an amazing location for visiting Italy however there are many issues with the hotel you must bare in mind before booking. To begin with do not attempt to arrive earlier than the designated check in times unless you want to leave your bags in the middle of the lobby unattended. After telling the staff I felt uncomfortable with this they assured me it would be watched and would be kept safe although on my return there was no staff. When checking into the hotel, the staff ask for your passport and an additional 4€ per night per person which was not told to us before arriving here in Venice . We were then given the key to our room. As previous reviews have stated the stairs are very steep and narrow although this was not an issue for us as we were made aware prior to booking the hotel. The room itself was fairly clean however the shower/bath was particularly faulty with what appeared to be deep scratches all inside the bath and a shower which would turn itself off every two minutes. If you do experience this our advice is to pull the toggle slowly rather than fast to ensure running water remains for around 5 minutes at a time. The hairdryer was also an issue for us so I would recommend packing your own if you use a hairdryer to style your hair. You are also only provided with three rather hard pillows which became increasingly uncomfortable throughout our stay. Breakfast was basic but good, it is served in the room but is not prompt. We asked for a 8am breakfast at which it arrived at 8:25. There is a choice of hot drink but do not expect a full mug full as we were only given half a mug of cold coffee each morning . Within our room our air conditioning system continuously made dripping water noises throughout our stay making it extremely difficult to sleep . All in all the hotel is clean and in a perfect location and if you can look past these issues the hotel is in perfect distance for visiting the sights of Venice. However, I would look at other hotels before settling for Residenza Goldoni again.
If you are looking for comfortable room, friendly service, clean cosy hotel, I think this will be a good choice. Breakfast in your room is served promptly and anything I asked for was provided. Special thanks to receptionist who readily checked for item I thought I forgot and was happy to help to arrange a courier pick up (was not needed in the end as I found it at the bottom of my bag). I had a small but perfectly formed room and bed was comfy!
I was pleased with my hotel room and the staff. Small place but it made up for the nice room and excellent location to just walk around and get lost in Venice. Tucked away in a small alley behind some high end shops and bars. Only thing is that it doesn’t have a elevator
Ideal place to stay close to all the attractions rooms clean daily breakfast brought to your room at the time you request the staff very helpful nothing to much trouble kettle in your room which is always good would recommend and stay again if ever visited Venice again
I stayed here for two nights with my mother, brother, and husband. The room was very nice although small for four people, so it would have been nice to have a little more room. The shower was also a little tricky because it was tall and we were concerned with falling getting in/out of it, and the door didn't keep out much of the water so the tile was very wet. The location of this hotel is great! It is near the Rialto stop, where we took the Alilaguna A route straight to the airport at the end of our trip. When I had booked the hotel, I was under the impression that we had paid for breakfast while booking, but that turned out not to be the case. It would be nice if they provided breakfast for all visitors because food in Venice is expensive. (I highly recommend going to a nearby cafe, Farini, for an inexpensive and very tasty breakfast.) Overall though, we enjoyed our stay and the location.
We stayed here for 5 nights, the location is great , the breakfast in your room is a lovely touch which also included a bottle of fizz on our anniversary which was a really nice gesture, all the staff we met were very helpful and always smiling especially Fifi whom nothing seemed tobe to much trouble for her.We were on the 4th floor which kept us fit, the room was very comfortable and we would not hessitate to recommend this place to anyone and we would come back and stay here again. Really enjoyed our stay, Thank you.
Good accommodation, for my experience in Venice, the hotel is ok, good location, but NO elevator. The people at the hotel are very nice. The room is clean. The breakfast is simple, but you can have it at the floor balcony if you want. It is easy to walk around from the hotel.
Great little option in the San Marco area, close to both Rialto Bridge and San Marco square. Walkability to all areas in Venice is great and lots of food options close by. Easy access from train station, take #2 vaporetto to rialto stop. Walk up first main street to the right Calle Larga Manzinni and keep going straight. Turn left onto Calle dei Stagneri - there is a Tru Trussardi shop on the corner, and you will see the green and gold sign hanging not too far down. Is walkable but I would avoid the attempt if able! I had a room on the top floor, comfy bed, great size and very clean. Breakfast is brought to you on s tray to have in the room. Standard continental fare coffee, bread roll, croissant and yogurt. Stairs are rather narrow and steep and were a killer after walking around all day! The person at reception will help with luggage, although did not help with my large bag!! Only downside is that my room overlooked the outside courtyard on level 3, and a group of others came home late and proceeded to party there very loudly at 1am. Other than that I found the accommodation very quiet. Overall cannot beat the location and charm of this little hotel.
My girlfriend and I stayed here over Easter weekend. It was our first visit to Venice and therefore our first stay at Residents Goldoni, but we would love to come back to both! The location is perfect, just a stone's throw from the Rialto bridge and a 5/10 minute walk to St Mark's square but nestled in on a side street that's not too busy at all. The breakfast brought up to the room each morning was a great way to start each day, and there wasn't enough the staff could do for us, from directions to flowers and prosecco in the room, they did it all with a smile. Definitely want to return!
I stayed here because of the good TripAdvisor reviews. Mistake! Don't stay here. The housekeeping screams across floors for conversations at 8:30 am with other hotel workers. They don't watch your luggage when you leave it (I found others unattended luggage mid-afternoon) and you can hear the night shift receptionist snoring at 4 am if you stay on the first floor. Room 115 faces the exterior air conditioner which buzzes three times an hour. Not the best place for light sleepers and I wore industrial quality ear plugs every single night and morning. VERY LOUD and noisy. THEY UPGRADED A STAIRWELL AT 8 am ON A SATURDAY. LOUD HAMMERING AND DRILLING. The breakfast is unhealthy: sugar powdered croissants, jam and cappuccinos with too much froth. Best to pay 20€ extra a night elsewhere, it will certainly be worth the splurge, believe me. How can you enjoy the beauty of Venice when you're not well rested?
