The hotel is very well location just minutes from St marks square. The room is clean and nice. The staff very helpful Liza. But the breakfast was not good. Not many options at all. The bread was also dry and stale. They need to improve on that.
We spent 3 nights in Venice ... all at this hotel. We found it to be quaint, rooms were on the small side, but we were out so much the size hardly mattered. The furnishings were antique, but not wobbly or squeaky - very functional. The staff was very nice and helpful! Breakfast was provided with our package and the second floor lobby/eating area was comfortable. The food, coffee and juices provided were good. We especially enjoyed sitting on the terraces - both on the second floor and out the back on the ground floor. The small bar in the lobby stocked wine and other, such that in the evening we brought food (there are eateries nearby) and enjoyed wine and drinks on the patios. The staff was especially helpful, patient with our poor Italian and lovely overall. The hotel is sort-of out of the way and as such you must follow the directions from the pier precisely. The hotel is not upscale, chic, glitter or such - rather, it's aged, softer, very comfortable. The one issue we had was it was hot while we were there but not yet the 'season' for Italy to turn on the AC. And to cool off a bit, we opened our windows on the second floor, and quickly were deluged by mosquitoes. Either the AC or a ceiling fan would've been nice. Overall, I would stay here again.
Stayed here 2 nights after a conference. We've been to Venice several times before. By Venetian standards, the room and bathroom were large, with high ceilings. We didn't pay for breakfast (15 Euros each is a little high for us) but it looked generous, and there was a nice dining balcony. There were several little cafe/bars nearby for breakfast, and some decent restaurants as well.
Went with a group of girlfriends.. we loved this tucked away elegant hotel. Staff was very pleasant. The downside .. it was somewhat expensive and not easy to get to with luggage. Fortunately we found a porter at the docks who delivered our luggage.
We stayed at the Casa Verardo for 8 nights, and it was terrific. My husband and I highly recommend it. The staff is extremely helpful, and Claudio's kindness and helpfulness each day was very much appreciated. The hotel is spotless, lovely and quiet, and close to the vaporetto (water bus) and to many Venice attractions. We were delighted that we had a king sized bed (we thought it would be a double), and it was a wonderfully comfortable bed with a firm mattress. The hotel is in a fabulous location. We were glad to not be in the middle of the heavily populated tourist area of St. Mark's Square, but it was a very short walk to get there. The breakfast was really good, and the bread was the best I had in Venice. Each morning there's a selection of bread and rolls, cheeses, fruit, eggs, bacon, meats ,cereals, pastries, croissants, coffee, juices, yogurts, etc. Very plentiful and a great way to start the day. They also had decaffeinated coffee/cappuccino which is not easily found in Venice. We loved every minute of our stay there, and with all the hotel choices in Venice. We're so happy that we stayed at the Casa Verardo. Thank you, Casa Verardo, for this very special time in Venice.
The hotel is situated less than 10min from "San Zacaria (Danieli)" water bus station. From Marco Polo airport : Take a water taxi which will drop you off at S. Zacaria. From Santa Lucia Train Station : Find the ticket office at the start of platform 2 and follow the staff guidelines to reach S. Zacaria. Once you are off the taxi, walk straight up Calle delle Rasse. At the end of the street, take a left. As soon as you reach an open sitting area, take the road on your right. Keep walking straight up the street with red brick walls on either side and up a small bridge. The hotel is on the other side of the bridge. We stayed in room 102 which was a beautiful and clean room with a big bathroom. There is a balcony just outside the room with open seating space. The room has huge windows overlooking a canal. Breakfast is served on the 1st floor and had the usual variety that you would find in any hotel in Italy. The hotel is less than 5 min walk from St Marks Square and gondola ride stands. The staff was very courteous and helpful and answered all our queries.
This hotel is okay and the breakfast is average but its what you need for somewhere like Venice as you don't go to spend time in the room and the location is perfect, literally walking distance from everything!
We had decided to go to Venice on short notice. Due to Spring holidays, this was one of the few hotels that had still rooms for us and our friends. It offers Junior Suites for four people which was a good choice for us as a family with (young) kids. The rooms were clean and looked exactly as shown on some photos seen on booking websites. The door of our suite led directly to the breakfast area which was a bit unpleasant. However, there was no noise at all as the room had two doors to avoid disturbance. Breakfast was ok but not high standard. Orange juice seemed (and tasted) to be instant juice and the scrambled egg seemed to be out of a pouch. The other foods such as bread, cereals, yogurt etc. were tasty. We, however, missed fruits. We enjoyed our stay in the hotel and have tried to extend our stay for another day, which was, however, not possible as it was fully booked. The pricing was reasonable. One of the benefits of the hotel is its proximity to the Marcus Place.
Have just returned from 4 amazing nights in Venice to celebrate our anniversary. A wonderful hotel with fantastic staff, who made us feel very special. The hotel location was perfect and our room was delightful. Would recommend for a special occasion.
Beautiful hotel with classic a Venician features. Our room window overlooked a canal and bridge. Rooms were small but comfortable. Continental breakfast was fine, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Location is great: close to St Marks Square and plenty of areas for shopping and food. We would stay here again.
