This hotel is great.....wonderful room with everything you need. Fantastic location close to everything. Staff were great and very helpful with anything we needed. Breakfast was great quality and service and a lovely patio. Highly recommend!
We visited Hotel Casa Verardo in mid August. Our room was ready when we arrived and we checked in early. The room (306) was beautiful with full en-suite bathroom and a small lobby area with wardrobe. The room itself looked out to the front of the hotel and a small canal and you could see the top of the bell tower in San Marco square. The room was beautifully decorated with a very comfy bed and had lots of space, character features and Venetian charm. Breakfast was good and served in a lovely dining room or on the terrace. The courtyard garden was a peaceful oasis and we often sat there with wine from the hotel bar. The hotel was beautifully decorated and the staff were warm, friendly and helpful. We loved the dog who was snoozing in reception and couldn't really fault anything. We left our case on the day we checked out and collected it once it was time to leave for the airport. Location is perfect - right in the middle of the most popular tourist area but hidden away and very peaceful. We would certainly return as we love Venice and are really pleased to have found this hidden gem of a hotel.
We booked at hotel Casa Verardo, when we arrived we were greeted by Mr not so happy might man, who I think we annoyed him because we interrupted him having a cigarette, he barged past us through the door as we held it open for him. He then advised us we were staying at their other hotel a few hundred metres back down the road (it would have been nice to be told that booking the Annex room meant we were staying at their other hotel before we lugged our heavy luggage all the way. We then went to their other hotel Kirsch, ow the room were ok but they lacked the basics, like a kettle, tea and coffee, there was no price list for the mini bar, our European plugs did not fit in their smaller sized sockets. We asked for an adapter and they told us the Manager said only 1 per room, a bit of a joke when we have more than one electrical appliance. For the price we payed I would not stay here again.
This hotel is exceptionally clean, comfortable and value for money. The staff were more than helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was lovely. Very close to St Marks Square and any amount of restaurants and bars.
We booked our room through a 3rd party site and ended up booking a room in the Annex. I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. The Annex was about a block from the main hotel where you check-in and have breakfast. We got the top floor of the Annex building, which was a 2 bedroom suite (2nd bedroom had kind of a day bed rather than a bed). We were so surprised that we had such a big hotel room after staying in tiny rooms for most of our European trip so far. The bed was comfy and I felt very secure in the building. There is no elevator, so you have to walk up but it's not that bad. The location of both the hotel and the Annex was very central and only a short 5 min walk from Piazza San Marco. Highly recommend to anyone. The Annex was newer than the hotel, but we had a great time and wished our trip was longer in Venice.
Stayed here with my wife for 4 night last week. Lovely little hotel, our room was a tad basic & small but that's what you get if you book a cheaper room. The hotel is in a great location just approx a 3 minute walk from St Marks Square & the same from the Grand Canal. We had breakfast only which was again basic but you could help yourself. One or two of the staff were a little grumpy but on the main mostly very nice staff. Beautiful courtyard out the back where you can just sit & relax with a nice glass of whatever takes your fancy.Overall a lovely quaint little place to stay.
Location was perfect for our stay, water taxi and water bus were very accessible. All the places you want to go can reach by walking and the water transportation. Lots of restaurants around the vicinity. Even a Michelin 1 restaurant and cheap ones are very close. The interiors are so far my favorite among the classic hotels I have stayed in Italy. We booked 2 rooms and they are well kept and tidy and the furnishings are impressive. Wifi is free. Breakfast was excellent and we wished we stayed to enjoy our last breakfast there but our flight was at 6AM and had to leave at 4Am. No to go breakfast available. We booked our water taxi that morning in the concierge day before our departure and its reasonable and was on time on the meeting place. Very helpful concierge as far as how we can navigate the city. Just love it!!!!
Had a few recommendations for Venice and read a lot of reviews. A lot of people complained about hotels in Venice being old and small, I think they forget that thats exactly what Venice is :) I booked this hotel based on reviews and price. I was very happy with my choice. Staff were very helpful and understood english very well. Breakfast was good every morning and so was the coffee, it was made strangely, with a pot of black coffee and another of warm milk, it worked though haha. The location was great based on the fact that i was there to see the Venice Biennale. It was also very close to the boat stop San Zaccaria, probably just a 5-10min walk with my bag. The room was nice. not a massive room. i actually think the bathroom was half the size of the actual room, very nice! Room was good temp with the aircon. and comfy enough for me to do work as well.
Fabulous hotel, very quiet, great location, super clean. The front office personnel is very professional and welcoming, however the breakfast staff team is rude, unpleasant and grumpy.....not a good way to start your day! Eric BIENVENUE, Canada
The hotel is very well location just minutes from St marks square. The room is clean and nice. The staff very helpful Liza. But the breakfast was not good. Not many options at all. The bread was also dry and stale. They need to improve on that.
