Hotel Locanda Canal

The hotel is in a really good location, in a quiet, typical part of Venice on a small canal but close enough to walk in 10 minutes to Rialto, St Marks and the seafront. Decor is nice for the price, as is breakfast. The aircon was great, as it was the middle of an intense heatwave so we really needed that. Bathrooms are small but perfectly functional.

Slept here only for one night, we were by the way and decided to stop for a night in this wonderful city. The price was very good, other places we tried to ask were too expensive for us. We didn't had breakfast, we went out very early, so I cannot describe it. Rooms are ok. Venezia will be alwais my favourite city ever!

We stayed here in May 2017 for two nights. Would recommend this hotel for anyone who's looking for a hotel that's reasonably priced considering the location, it is close to the main square, a 5 minute walk. The bedrooms & breakfast are basic but as you don't spend much time in the room it is manageable. However, the main let down in this hotel is there is no tea/coffee making facilities in your room or in the lobby. It is only available to you at breakfast, we found this to be an inconvenience as everywhere else is very expensive in the main square. Most of the staff are friendly, a very kind gentleman helped us with our booking of our train to Florence which was a massive help. Would recommend that you bring your own hairdryer as the one in the bathroom is very poor. And don't forget that you need to pay your city tax on checkout which the staff ask you for & supply a receipt.

We checked into Hotel Locanda Canal after a long day in Murano. The desk clerk was polite. As we walked to the room, we noticed the dinginess of the common areas. The room was small, dark and hot. The hair dyer and wall sconces were hanging off the wall, old worn linens, missing pillow cases, etc. The wifi would not work. Then, we noticed food and dirty dishes under the wardrobe. When we made the clerk aware of this, he quickly picked it up and apologized for the maids "being so bad". We decided to leave and asked for a refund. He said we needed to talk to the owner, who was not on site. We disputed this charge on our credit card. The hotel lied and said we had "abandoned" the hotel without notification. Given that my husband and the clerk were almost yelling at each other, I find it hard to believe anyone would question our departure. Upon arriving home, we discoved that many of the positive reviews online were of Locand Hotel Vivaldi. Definitely, not this dump!!! Caveat Emptor!!

The room was lovely and spacious l, staff were very friendly and it was nice and central! Only thing I didn't like was the breakfast.. No hot food and little choice but would stay again as the positives out weighed the breakfast choice! Thank you!

Good location. Staffs are friendly. Good breakfast. Big room. Defected heater. Small bathroom. Extra pillows no pillow case. Bathroom curtain dirty. Hair dryer cant dry even. We opt not to wash our hair.

We stayed in a 4 person room, two double beds together taking up most of the room. Breakfast was OK, nothing great. The price wasn't too bad for a holiday, Festa Del Redentore. Biggest advantage to this hotel is the location near Piazza San Marco. Wifi was spotty.

The location of the hotel is superb - literally a few minute walk from the vaporetto station with no bridges to negotiate, and five minutes walk from St. Marks Square. The breakfast was good and the room was clean. I have recommended this hotel to friends and would stay here again.

The hotel is located near the famous Piazza San Marco and pretty much anything a tourist would fancy to visit. Our room was big and clean, well furnished and with a nice bathroom (the trip was a gift so I don't know the rates). The first night we asked for a typical Venetian restaurant and the concierge booked for us a very nice place called "Al Giardinetto" where we could eat traditional food and wine for a totally fair price (something not too common in Venice!). The concierge also booked for us a trip to Murano, Burano and Torcello and proved to be a valid insight into the Venetian surrounding. In the end, I totally enjoyed my travel! (The picture was taken in Burano. Don't stop at the laces but visit the island, is beautiful!)

We (family of 4) stayed in a one bedroom for three nights. There were two large beds which was adequate for our short stay. The bathroom was clean and very large. The location was excellent - walking distance to everything! On arrival in Venice get the public ferry and then it is only a five minute walk to the hotel. - (water taxi wanted 90 Euro). Lots of good restaurants, markets and shopping all within walking distance. The owners of this hotel could not be more accommodating. Very helpful & friendly. We had to leave very early in the morning (5.30 am) and one of the owners stayed on a couch in the lounge area all night so he could assist us carrying our bags downstairs in the morning - unbelievable!
