I went here with my best friend to celebrate our 50th birthdays. Hotel was lovely, very central to everywhere. As it was a celebration they upgraded our room to a canal view which was fantastic! Its a small hotel and they don't have a lift but kindly helped us up with our luggage. Breakfast was served from the small restaurant next door. Perfectly adequate and tasty. Warm croissants cereal meats cheese etc We took a private transfer from the airport which was well worth the extra money. We were dropped off by Rialto bridge and the hotel was only a short walk away. Was easy to find. Excellent value for money Weather was perfect as well we went end of March
We stayed here in March and were very happy with our choice. It is very centrally located and actually quite easy to find (if you follow their directions!) The staff are friendly and helpful, it is spotlessly clean. I think it is a family concern? Breakfast was a great continental selection in the trattoria downstairs. The decor was very Italian/Venetian and the rooms are spacious. We felt great value for money. At times we could here other guests walking around but it wasn't a problem for us. We booked via booking.com and it wasn't clear that not all rooms have a 'view'. Mind you in Venice the chances are that your view will be of the houses opposite the alley! We had a room overlooking the canal and we were delighted with it. Others have mentioned no 24 hour receptionist but this was not a problem, I imagine the staff in the alongside trattoria would help and there is a phone number prominently displayed if needed. Happy to recommend.
I stayed at the hotel Al Gazzettino with my partner for four nights, and I was absolutely delighted with the stay! The location is amazing, and is right beside San Marco Square, as well as the Rialto Bridge. There are so many great restaurants and cafes nearbye, and you can literally walk in any direction when you leave the hotel door and have an exciting and unique experience. The staff were so friendly and helped with any problems, and the room was spotless every day. The room was designed with very authentic looking Venetian wallpaper, and the bathroom had an amazing shower. Also, the bed was very comfortable. For the price I paid, I was pleasantly suprised with the service I recieved. If I ever come back to Venice again, this is the place I will stay!
Going to Venice, I was adamant about having a Venetian hotel and not some chain hotel I could stay at anywhere in the US and I got that here! Staff was fabulous and our room was great. We were on top floor with no elevator but I knew that when I booked. Its Venice - if your expecting a modern building you are completing missing out on Venice! The entrance was on a little side street that was right by a canal not far from the Rialto Bridge and St. Marks Square. Cute with a great location! Bed was comfy, Wifi was reliable, nice mini fridge and the hotel is very well kept. The front desk is not manned 24hrs but we never had an issue and whenever we entered or left, the person at the desk always greeted us. All in all, a great stay!
Very good! A bit noisy sometimes because the walls and floors are vert thin but no noise from outside (quiet neighboorhood and good windows). No breakfast possibilities but typical venetian rooms, very clean and modern bathroom.
The room was clean and large enough. Helpful staff, perfect location for planning your time efficiently. They were very responsive and detailed when we needed help with transportation. No elevator, so if you are afraid of stairs, contact the hotel beforehand.
We stayed at this hotel in September. The location was good but thats the only positive point. We had to carry our luggages to the last floor using stairs as the hotel doesn't have elevator! Our room was really old looking and dirty. They even didn't bother to change the toilet seat after a decade of use!! During our stay we usually couldn't find anyone at the front desk! Oh forgot to mention that there was a big silverfish in my towel! Great surprise!!
We booked this place for a special anniversary. We had come here on our honeymoon and had a room overlooking a canal. So we wanted to have a great experience again. As their website advertised that the rooms overlook the canal (quote from website: "The rooms, with bathroom and air conditioning, overlook a typical Venetian canal, along which our guests will be able to admire and hear the serenades on gondolas; a romantic background for hearts searching for or consolidating love in this romantic city.") we went ahead and booked a prepaid non-refundable room. When we arrived we were shocked to learn that the room they gave us had no canal view, only a view of a boarded up building right outside our window, complete with pigeon with an alley way below. When we called the manager and asked for one of the advertised canal view rooms we were yelled at, told we had made a mistake and were refused a refund. It appears that most rooms DO NOT have a view of canals and the implication that all rooms do is deceitful.
This place was such a delicious surprise. Our room was large and very decadently decorated with gilt and red drapes (we had to have a "selfie photo shoot" as soon as we arrived!). Staff were really friendly and helpful. And such an amazing location in the middle of everything. We could lean out our window and watch the Gondolas float past below. Plus, the seriously delicious restaurant was right underneath. We soon became regulars, and were treated with extra liqueurs and desserts and little bags of (dry) pasta to take home. The whole experience was so much better value than many other places I've stayed in Italy.
Our hotel room was quite big and extremely clean! Although we barely spent anytime in there, I was happy with the price I paid for the room. This location is great because everything is closeby within 5 minutes. I would definitely recommend this place for first timers in venice.
