Hotel Graspo de Ua3.0 out of 5.0

The room is beyond tiny, its so small I have to go outside to change my mind! It's run down, rooms are not made up each day, there is nowhere to place luggage. The double bed is so small my legs hang over the end, and I'm 5'6" (169cms)! It rained yesterday, the bathroom window does not fit the frame, so water ran in and covered the floor. There is no elevator, 4 flights every day. Worst hotel I've stayed in in 25 years of global travel, and I'm not exaggerating. Seriously, I looked on Airbnb yesterday to see if there was an apartment available and was willing to bail out of here and blow my money.
Fantastic location with a friendly, helpful reception. Unfortunately, no lift as the building is 15th century so it was no fun lugging two suitcases up five flights of stairs. Only the first flight had carpet - the rest were just stone. Standard room was average - only two pillows for the double bed. Breakfast was adequate and was advertised between 8 and 10. However things were often cleared away before 10.
For this price in Venice at this location- very good. Friendly receiption But for the breakfast you must be sharp. At 10am everything disapear from a dining room (including coffee machine and water dispancer (everything on the weels)
Location id perfect as it is close to the vaperetto and Rialto bridge. Expensive as compared to other hotels in Venice. You can find better at the same price. Rooms are small and staff is not friendly.
Found our way to the hotel with mixed emotions as reviews not the best but have to go on our own experience and we were delighted. Bed linen spotless, bathroom and towels the same. Staff friendly and helpful. Granted the 'alleyway' didn't inspire confidence, a little dark and narrow but just the same as hundreds all over Venice. Would be happy to book same hotel again.
After reading some previous reviews I was a little worried about what we were going to find but my worries were totally unnecessary. We arrived to be greeted by a smiley young man who gave us the key to room 12 on the second floor and told us that it was a superior room which we were not expecting. The hotel is located down an alleyway just off the steps of the beautiful Rialto bridge so an amazing location. The room was reasonably sized and was spotless with a new sparklingly clean bathroom. There was a wardrobe, table with television , a chair and bedside tables. There was only a view of a wall but who cares about that when you are steps from the centre of Venice. The breakfast is typical European and there was plenty for everyone. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the whole experience was just lovely. There is a restaurant in the hotel which we booked for our last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. I appreciate that everyone must speak as they find and we found this hotel just perfect. Would I recommend it? Most definitely.
The rooms were par the chair nearly broke when I sat in it bathroom was tiny and no elevator lots of stairs only a couple rooms per floor room 23 was on the 4th floor no blanket except a dirty one in the closet staff at reception was awesome though
The hotel is located 50 metres from the Rialto bridge in a narrow passage. The passage is dark and a little scary, you would not enter this in any normal European town. However, this kind of streets seems to be normal in Venice and not dangerous. The hotel's public areas were not refurbished since 1970, but the bathroom of our room (No29) was relatively new. The textiles, the bed was clean and good and new. But, for example the window handles, the mirror in the bathroom were broken. The room was announced with fridge and satelit TV. These two did not exist in the room. There was an empty minibar and the fridge was out of order, also the TV gave only radio service. The staff was very kind and helpful. Except for one young man at the reception, he was the only, who was not with Indian origin. They provide breakfast for 10 EUR per person, but the selection is quite poor and for this amount you can choose a really good breakfast in every bistro in the neighbourhood.
We stayed for four nights and found the location of the hotel was super. Kavinda was on the hotel reception and we found him to be be a very helpful young man. He gave us a map and explained where the main sights and attractions were in Venice. Fresh towels were provided every day. This hotel is ideal for exploring Venice, the hotel is not 4 stars but it is very reasonable price for the location. We found all the staff very helpful and friendly. We were not flying out of Venice until evening time and again Kavinda looked after our luggage until the late afternoon so we were free to spend the morning exploring. The Hotel does have a restaurant but we did not eat there. It does not have a bar but again the reception staff will serve wine and beer in the evenings which was nice. I left my cell phone behind me in reception and again they went out of their way to return to me via postage, whixh was much appreciated.
I didn't like the hotel. They gave us another room as those specified on booking in another building near the entrance. The window has a whole for doves I think and at night I felt the wind there, the beds were covered only by linens nothing else, nothing red or blue as the pictures on booking. Check the 4th picture on booking (white walls and 2 sofas, we slept on those sofa) was something similar but very old and dirty. The breakfast was good, the hotel is close to some attraction there but I wouldn't come back never for the conditions!
