This hotel is not a 4 star as advertised on some Web sites. The facilties don't come up to a 4 star standard. We asked for a quiet room on a high floor and extra pillows. We received neither. The breakfast was more holiday Inn than a top rated hotel. On arrival desk staff were very miserable. The rest of the staff were very nice. Bed and room were clean and comfortable. Noise from outside ( became of poor windows.) no double glassing. Heated and towel rail were turned off. On a wet day we could not dry towels, clothes etc. No tea or coffee In the room. Wooden floors made the rooms noisy. Definitely only a 3 star. I've stayed in many hotels, in Venice, Italy and Europe.the hotel is old as expected, the quility, decor, location was as expected but the food, noise and 4 star rating was not up to standard.
We. Recently stayed at the a Hotel Bisanzio and were very impressed. One block off of the Grand Canal offers a quiet location that is close to many Venice sights. The hotel staff is professional and helpful. The lobby is granite and marble with tasteful antiques on every floor. The rooms vary but are clean and updated. The internet is included and the service is quite good. The water taxi is very convenient.
As a family of four with kids that are still young hotels are often a problem. Busanzio family room is perfect. A mini flat with two rooms and a bathroom in a building adjacent to the main hotel. Beautiful large rooms so nicely done. Makes you feel like a Venetian. So happy I got to experience staying in a room with green shutters! The main hotel itself is so tastefully done up with a lush elegant lobby and very friendly concierge. Breakfast was great for a buffet with really nice prosciutto cotton and mortadela and cheese and a large selection of pastries and sweets. Generally perfect. The hotel offers a trip to murano. We did not take that. Instead the vapatetto 7 is 2 minutes away and you can get a day pass and then use it to explore Burano and torcello as well. Ps. Superb location
The reception and public areas were very smart and staff were polite and friendly but the recent renovation did not appear to have extended to our room. It was however very clean and comfortable with a small balcony which caught the afternoon sun. The window boxes were neglected though. Breakfast was self service, adequate and plentiful. We would stay here again.
We stayed here for three nights in one of the suites. It is a beautiful hotel and very convenient for all things to visit and see. The breakfast provided is lovely with plenty of choice and the service from the staff in the breakfast room is friendly, polite and welcoming. Our room was situated slightly away from the hotel in a court yard with a balcony that was stunning in every way. A concern is don't use the bathroom when it's dark and put the light on, the rooms opposite can see right through the window and this is why I have not given it 5 stars. There is a lace curtain but nothing else, some frosted covering on the glass or a blind would be better. The toiletries provided are lovely with a change of towels daily and the shower was the best I've ever experienced. I would definitely stay here again but remember there is a €4.50 city tax per person per night that has to be paid when checking out.
My other half booked this hotel for us after going his “homework” on Venice 😂 this is a great location set back from the main front of the water and opposite the Water bus stop. Rooms spacious and bed comfy however we were on the 5th floor and it was warm along the corridors and did not spot Aircon anywhere but can’t confirm that. We had a room with a small terrace overlooking roof tops. Shame the plants on the window boxes were dead!! Bathroom spacious and bath and shower. Breakfast ok not the best but not bad and Enough to start the day off. Enjoyed being close to St Marks but it’s a very busy area and crowds come across on boats so it’s swamped with people. Use the back streets for food and drinks as cheaper than water front and there are some lovely places if u look and don’t just stick to tourist spots.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Since there were four of us we stayed off grounds in a little villa next door. Our room was super spacious, it was more like a one bedroom condo with a full kitchen. The staff was amazing and helpful. There was a personal water taxi within 20 yards of our door. Very quiet location close to the boardwalk area where the main water taxis port. Breakfast was exceptional. Highly recommend.
My wife and I came to Venice for our mini moon.. after being recommended by my parents that also stayed here many years ago we was very pleased with what we arrived at. The location is perfect being right near the restaurants and the water taxis. You are a 5 minute walk if that to St. Marks square and the Basilica. The rooms are very clean and Venetian. The room we got given also had a balcony which was great to sit and have a cup of tea before exploring the city. The breakfast was very tasty with lots to choose from. The staff were extremely helpful and couldn’t help you enough. Room came with mini bar with drinks and snacks. This place is definitely one to stay at. We was very happy and would love to go back!!
Excellent hotel....in every way. Spacious well presented rooms with all the amenities you could want. Spotlessly clean.....and it’s location just perfect ...so near the Grand Canal and for exploring the heart of Venice. And, importantly, very close to the San Zachariah vaporetto and water taxi station ...important when trundling your luggage about!! The staff are very friendly - nothing is too much trouble. We thank you so much for your hospitality .....and wonderful restaurant recommendations!! So looking forward to our next visit planned for the Carnevale 2020 ...or maybe November this year if I can’t wait till then...!! Pauline Halford & Family
The hotel was recently renovated with a beautiful entrance. Great location close to the main attractions in Venice. The room was small but spacious enough as we spent most of our days out and about exploring the Carnival. Our main and only issue was the fact that there’s no cold air and since we stayed in the top floor the room was extremely hot and there was no solution for that according to reception. At this time of the year, only hot air is available in the rooms so our sleep was not great when waking up with the heat various times in the middle of the night.
