Refreshing. After decades in corporate 4 - 5 stars, this boutique hotel is refreshingly authentic. The rooms are literal works of art. Unique, personalized. Perfect for a weekend romantic getaway. The service is on par with 5 stars. Every person that served us had a genuine small and attention to detail. A shout out to Hayley Frishling. Top notch management.
My wife and I stayed at the hotel twice at the end of last year, once for four days, and once for a week. Having lived in the neighbourhood, it was a perfect spot for us to visit with friends, and walk to most desirable places in the city. There are a multitude of well-regarded dining spots within a 10-minute walk, and there are ample public and street parking space. The staff was great, the artist designed rooms and common gallery spaces were a comfort to this traveler who appreciated the thoughtfulness of the spaces, and the tea and coffee every morning was a welcome hello to the day.
The hotel is filled with character and located in the heart of a very cool neighbourhood. Brunch was great. Cocktails delicious. And service fantastic throughout. Rooms very spotlessly clean and the bed comfy (though a little soft for my personal taste).
Awesome place, but the rooms are extremely small. They have two bars that have karaoke so it can be loud on the weekend. Make sure you set up A parking spot during your reservations. Great staff who were very helpful and accommodating
The Gladstone is the longest continually operating hotel in Toronto. If you are looking for a slick, modern hotel, go elsewhere. If you are looking for something unique, try it out. The floors are not all level, some bathrooms are small, the elevator is manually operated and during the day, the public has access to all the hallways to view the art. That being said, the staff are friendly and accommodating, the exhibits during our stay were interesting and the restaurant was great.
Fine fun place to stay, but was glad we had a room on the fourth floor since the ground level can be hopping till all hours. The staff was endlessly helpful and patient with needs ranging from change for the streetcars to helping carry the luggage. No complaints whatsoever.
My wife and I got married here and it was perfect. We had a lot of help and we couldn’t have been happier. We stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms are small but all different and original which is part of the charm here. Highly recommend it.
Very clean and well maintained, this boutique hotel has friendly staff and wonderful artworks to enjoy throughout the halls. The rooms themselves are works of art, but very small. If you are not thin or mobile this hotel is not for you. Althought the elevator accomodates a wheelchair, once in the room you cannot manouver around. The larger rooms become expensive and there are no accessible rooms to accommodate the needs of someone with a mobility device. Otherwise, a great hotel with wonderful ambience.
The Gladstone Hotel is the perfect overnight getaway right in downtown Toronto. Beautiful building! Interesting rooms and history. The staff is friendly and helpful, right down to taking us up to our roo in the lovely 1903 birdcage elevator. Highly recommended.
A family wedding was well accommodated at this hotel. We had lots of space outside our rooms to collect, meet and enjoy our visit. The food was interesting and well prepared. The staff were very accommodating. The interesting rooms were fun to visit though not very large to gather in. Having a room facing queen st was somewhat noisy.
