we had a great time - -live band keryoke is really entertaining. the staff is amazingly helpful and friendly. the location is perfect, and the restaurant is great too. the artwork is really cool too. bartenders and front desk staff were happy to do anything to make our stay outstanding
Wedding venue was great. Some issues with washrooms on main floor, staff were very accommodating but didn't always have info. availability of food during the day was a problem and cancellation of dining room chef without notice was very inconvenient.
Happy with our stay. Room very cute. Breakfast was excellent. Karaoke Saturday night was surprisingly really good. Walking distance to lots of restaurants and bars and to theatre we attended. Pay to park across the street.
The Gladstone had the best Wifi on any place I stayed when travelling for 5 weeks (Very handy when your travel plans get disrupted because of Hurricane Irma) The staff were all friendly and helpful and the place had an excellent vibe. Tram stop at the front door and supermarket behind the hotel. Some reviews have made comments about noise. I sleep like the dead so I was not offput by this
The Gladstone Hotel is one of Toronto's local treasures. It's a classic venue that's chock-full of local history -- and always a hot spot for finding exciting new artists and sampling the city's best local cultural events. And, if you're ever lucky enough to sleepover, the rooms are truly memorable. Hands down one of the best venues to feel the pulse of this city. Even if you just drop by for a coffee or a drink - it's a definite must see that gets better with time.
I stayed at the Gladstone twice in September and will happily go back. Each of the rooms is decorated by a different artist. Each floor has its own art gallery. There is a Ryerson Art Space onsite and a very friendly vibe. For those who enjoy history, the hotel is a heritage site as it is the longest continually operating hotel in the city. It is located in Liberty Village, a short streetcar ride to downtown. Very good value for Toronto!
I've stayed at the Gladstone three times now, and I can't imagine staying in Toronto and NOT staying at the Gladstone. The staff is friendly and helpful. The artist rooms are incredible. The other rooms, while they pale in comparison, are merely very good hotel rooms. You get so spoiled with the artist rooms! The one complaint I have is that the showers are highly variable. Water pressure is fine, but the fixtures are not so great. I asked the front desk and they said that they were aware of this and that they were being repaired or replaced. The room I stayed in this time was fine!, so I think they've got this in hand. If you want the Holiday Inn, don't stay here. If you want a memorable, wholesome, stimulating, artsy hotel experience, this may be the place for you. Oh, the cafe is great, too! The Chef-in-residence program is a huge success. Hot breakfasts are available. The coffee and draft beers are excellent.
I had an excellent time at the Gladstone. The staff were very friendly and extremely accommodating, letting me into my room early, which was so appreciated. My room was clean and lovely - awesome coasters! Would stay again in a heartbeat.
Was charged 100 dollar refundable fee we were not aware of beforehand. Poor Wifi connection on top floors, did not have access to television while on our stay. Wine in dry bar was not great, and overall small room, with a cramped shower experience.
This is a very arty hotel. Our room was antiquey, a great experience. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean. Bathroom is tiny. We were there for a wedding and it was well organized and ran very smoothly. The service was very good.
