This hotel has very very bad wifi, as this was a business trip for me, very bad. Worst CS ever experienced, i believe the staff name was Sai, she is a Korean. She had a very unkind attitude towards us, for unknown reason. For the second day, my sleeping T-shirt was on the floor after the room cleaning, why? For the third day, i had the pocket wifi bag placed on the desk, but i spent long time finding it, end up found it on the floor at the back of the desk, why?
Our first ever hotel stay in Japan and this proved very positive. The welcome was great and while the room was smaller than we were used to it was extremely comfortable and very well equipped. The fridge was welcome and a free mobile phone that offered unlimited Internet, calls and texts was also included. The location is excellent as it's literally opposite the Ueno Station Hirokoji exit and a 3 minute walk down one street with no turns. We took advantage of japan's brilliant luggage forwarding service which the hotel staff happily sorted for us. Plenty of things to do and see locally including a vibrant market area and transport to just about anywhere in the city was a breeze from Ueno Station.
Booked the hotel by internet. Their Check-in time is 3.00 p.m (I have experienced all the hotels Check-in time is 12.00 p.m). But entering our room we were very shocked. The room is very tiny for three people. We could not keep our luggage or stand on the floor due to short space. There was not any cabinet / almirah so we could not keep our dresses or shoes properly. Even they didn't provide any complementary water to us. Just only first day they gave the complementary water bottle. Not satisfied with the price.
I love the location so much. The hotel is near Keisei line from Narita, JR line and metro (Ginza and Hibiya line). This hotel is next to Ameyoko, shopping mall and many restaurants. Highlight: Hotel has hair dryer, cotton bud, comb, toner, lotion, slipper, tooth brush kit, cosmetic cleaner and more. You just bring your pajamas to stay here. The hotel also has onsen, sauna and massage chair. I'll go back to this hotel for sure!
This hotel is in Ameyoko around with restaurants. Easy travel to and from Narita via skyliner and JR station is in 5-10 minutes walk. Room is small same as other Japanese hotel but clean and comfortable. Staffs are good and friendly. I recommend to those who want to stay at the place easy to go from airport. Going to Shibuya, Shinjuku, Harajuku use Ginza line.
First time to visit & stay in Ueno. First impression of the hotel - is this a love hotel??? The decor of the hotel and our floor just had that vibe of a cheap love hotel. Chose this due to the location to the Skyliner and the spa. However, the spa is opened to public as well and unlike other hotels where you need to swipe or have a code to get in, any one off the street can walk in and access the bath/spa areas, which is located on level 2. Same for accessing the floor, any one can get up to the floor and the only security is the swipe card to get into the room. Didn't feel safe at night as too many people off the street came in to use to the spa and had one guy followed me to the same floor and no way to tell if he was a staying guest or not. Room was also not cleaned thoroughly as we found hair in our bathroom wall as soon as we checked into the room. Also I was developing a rash the second night. I asked the front desk to change the sheet immediately and the non-Japanese staff came to do it but he threw the duvet onto the ground while changing the bedsheet.Could tell he was in a foul mood that he had to do this. And such great hygiene standard! Who knows what goes on behind the scene if he threw the duvet on the ground in front of us?!? No wonder I developed a rash since our stay there! Also being opposite to a panchiko, we could hear music at night and there was noise off the street early in the morning collecting metal beer kegs. Was a big mistake to choose this hotel. Do not recommend to stay there!
The room was “big” in Japan. We can have two luggage opened at the same time. My friend had serious allergy during the stay and the staff called ambulance for us. Very friendly and helpful. The location is good as well.
Location is pretty good next to the shopping center and close to the train. The facilities were clean and modern. They used a wide angle lens in the photos on booking.com to make everything seem bigger than it was. Our room was actually surprisingly small even for Tokyo which I have stayed many time. The pictures did not match what we got. I was a bit disappointed given the price point which was higher than other properties in Ueno. The primary reason I booked was the spa and massage chairs since we were just getting in from our flight to Tokyo and a nice soak can do wonders. However again the pictures did not match up to the actual area. The tubs while fine and enjoyable were much smaller than expected and we never did find that massage chair room they advertised in the listing but never included any information on once we arrived. There was one free massage chair in the spa area which we did use.
We chose a twin sharing room that comes with an open bath in the balcony. I read other reviews and noted that many people commented on the small size of the rooms. Actually there are many different sizes to choose from. Please note the room size (which is usually published) and price. I personally do not like those tiny japanese rooms and would take effort to check the room size. The room i book in this hotel is good for 2 adults and 1 child (10 years old). We have space to open both big luggages and room comes with a spacious balcony with bath and outdoor table and seats. We didnt use the open bath as we are back only in the evenings and the Yakiniku restaurant downstairs will send out scents of bbq meat to our balcony. We just keep the balcony doors closed when we are back. There is onsen at level 2, comes with sauna and massage chairs too! Location is great, near Ueno station and really a lot of food choices around. We had a good stay (2 nights) here and would definitely come back again if we want to stay at Ueno.
Located 3mins walk(if u find the correct route ) from JR Ueno. Took Skyliner from Narita to Ueno(40mins 2470¥). Out of station walk towards to the shopping street of Ueno. Below Centurion has a BBQ restaurant. Room is very small. If you have a lot of luggage, you can only open one at a time. Hotel has 2 blocks. Check in level two n has indoor onsen. Overall nice little hotel if you do not mind the small size room.
