Candeo Hotels Tokyo Roppongi3.5 out of 5.0

nothing about the Candeo Hotel is particularly impressive. From the small rooms, lack of closet space and poor amenities. upon first appearance, one may fear the worst. Whilst reminiscent of a typical love hotel with some bells and whistles (spa) to attract tourists, The hotel delivers good value for money given the location. the hotel had attentive staff and was in general a pleasure to stay in. For a cheap break in Japan - why not!? if you are looking for anything other than a place to lay your head in the evening - look elsewhere. The rooms are far to small (even by Tokyo standards at these prices) A 40 min late checkout on a Sunday, with multiple occupancies available cost an additional $20 which is why I have reduced the rating from 3* to 2* .... If you stay here, ensure you are able to check out at 11am!
Bell captains to help with luggages or proper hotel luggage carts. The staff were really friendly and helpful, even with luggages, but the hotel only has small airport type carts. Rooms were small, esp. the bathroom, very sleek though. Good location. No English TV channels provided. Slippers were used and a bit dirty.
Pros: Big-comfy bed, free toiletries (hair brush, toothbrush/paste, saver&cream, big bottle of shampoo-Conditioner-Lotion, etc), free 2 bottles of water everyday, free kids slippers to take home, free PJ to use in the hotel. Few steps away to 7Eleven, shops & restaurants nearby, close to station. Cons: A bit pricey, small room (can’t walk with 2 Medium luggages open), no wardrobe. Traveller: 2 Adults & 3 Kids
This hotel is in a good location near plenty of good restaurants. However although it’s modern and clean there are few facilities. There is no lounge or bar area and the breakfast room is far too small for the number of guests so we had to queue around 15 minute to get a table. Breakfast is good with plenty of choice. Our double room was far too small. It was barely the size of a single with the bed pushed up against the wall and nowhere to store anything. This spoilt our stay in Tokyo and we would not recommend unless you don’t mind being cramped. This was by no means a cheap hotel and we felt ripped off.
A newer hotel in the Roppongi Hills area. Great location, close to fun restaurants, bars, and convenience stores. The metro is right around the corner. Clean, comfortable rooms, perfect for a couple. Spacious by Japanese standards. Good continental breakfast. Would definitely visit again!
The Candeo Hotel was a wonderful place to stay for our family of three. My daughter and I visited the onsen daily. The bath was never, terribly busy and an excellent way to wind down after a day of sightseeing. Out of the three hotels we stayed in while visiting Japan, this hotel was the most spacious and had seating for when people did not want to lay down. We were in Tokyo twice for our trip and started our time in Roppongi. This hotel is located in a great area. There are delicious, non touristy restaurants nearby (soba, ramen, yakitori, etc). There is a grocery store close by which allowed us to purchase fruit. A small bakery (Pompodour) is around the block when we needed a quick breakfast before hopping on the train. There is a train station right around the corner as well which got us everywhere we needed to go.
The hotel is quite new, just a few years old. The rooms are fairly spacious by Japanese standards, comfortable and clean. The highlight is a Skyspa free for guests, which comprises of a sauna, an indoor and outdoor bath. It's very nice. Location is pretty convenient, short walk to Roppongi station on the Hibiya line. One drawback is no airport shuttle. To get there you need to take public transport. For transport to the airport (other than taxis, which are very expensive), you will need to walk to the Grand Hyatt to take the limousine bus for 3100 yen. The walk isn't far, about 10 mins, but it is a bit of a hassle when carrying heavy luggage. To get the limousine bus
Great service and beautifully decorated (albeit small, like every other affordable hotel in Tokyo). I didn't love Roppongi in general (preferred Shinjuku) but it is fairly convenient and if you want to be in Roppongi and not pay an arm and a leg, this hotel is great. Super clean, stylish, with great service. Entrance is located on the ground and the lobby is 1 floor up in the elevator. They also have an onsen upstairs, but we didn't try it.
We had a nice five-day stay at the hotel. We stayed as tourists, a couple in an "executive" room. It wouldn't have been suitable for a business stay -- the room is too small, and there's no storage. No, I mean, there's NO STORAGE. There are a few hangers on the wall, and that's it. We opted to unload a few days' worth of clothes from our luggage, and we left the luggage at the front desk for storage. If we'd been tripping over our own suitcases for five days, we would have been pretty annoyed with the room. It really was that small, and there was no space to store anything. There's a super rooftop onsen that we used every morning and night. It's gender-segregated, and you use it fully naked. It was a great experience. I think the hotel was pricey for the very tiny room, but Tokyo in general is pretty pricey.
Lovely hotel. The rooms are perfect. Checking in was easy and the hotel rooms were extremely good. A perfect upmarket introduction to Tokyo. The pyjamas were a great touch and helpful for going back and forth to the amazing Onsen on the top floor. It was such a dream to be able to visit a sauna and hot bath after a day of walking the city. The hotel is located perfectly. We loved the Candeo so much that we booked for the one in Hiroshima and we were not disappointed their either.
