In December 2019 I paid in advance for reservations to stay at Hotel Campiello, Venice for three nights , September 19, 20 and 21, 2020 precruise on a Holland Ameica cruise out of Venice, The cost for these three nights was $855.90. On May 6, 2020 we received an email from Orlando Ashford, President of Holland America Cruise Line stating because of the pandemic(Covid-19), "we have decided to cancel all Alaska, Europe and Canada/New England cruises for 2020. Regretfully, this means we must cancel your upcoming voyage." I then notified Hotel Campiello, Venice requesting a refund of my prepaid hotel reservations, but I never received any refund. William H. It is very convenient but in an off alley not very attractive. Rooms are fine. Breakfast fine staff great I had to get another room at another hotel because Campionnelo was sold out The other was right around the corner, nicer, looked out over water and they upgraded our room. Is stay there next time

As a veteran of Venice hotels, I know to keep expectations low. Hotel Campiello's location cannot be beat in terms of convenience. The downstairs decor sweet and is clear there has been some thought to the details. However, the room was surprisingly small. I have stayed in small rooms before and seen how hotels have tried to make the most of cramped space, but this room really took me back. It felt like a closet, or maybe a train compartment, with the twin bed lining one wall and a short ledge lining the other. Thankfully the bathroom - however teeny - was nice, with a functioning shower, but I wouldn't pay $126 a night for this experience again.

Nice hotel, nice staff, good breakfast, perfect location a block or two from St. Marks and less from the vaparetto. Would have like more air conditioning, but I think it's turned off or limited outside of summer months.

Breakfast was a bit lacking. Rooms had no sound insulation whatsoever. Rooms were pretty small. But the location is unbeatable! 30 seconds from the boat taxi launch; 2 minutes to St. Mark's; 15 minutes to Rialto Bridge; near some good restaurants. I would consider staying here again. But the rooms got pretty noisy in the early morning when all the vendors start carting by and setting up. (We were awoken at about 6:30 every morning.)

We didn't receive messages left for us on telephone from friends staying in Venice. The lady clerk is very unfriendly and aloof.

At first we had a bit of a problem finding the hotel, because Venice is kind of like a maze. It really is not far at all from the main street. We thought that the staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions. They kept us up to date on the events that were taking place in the city, which was awesome because we got to see the best fireworks show of we have ever seen! The room was lovely. It was nice that they had free internet. I would stay here again if I ever came back to Venice.

Location can't be beat in Venice. Next door to Doges Palace and the boat stop that goes to anywhere in Venice including the outer islands and the airport. Breakfast was surprisingly good when we only expected a croissant and cappuccino. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful, calling restaurants for reservations and giving directions to find places. We chose the economy double and that means very very small bedroom that barely fits a queen size bed. The bathroom was very large though, so that kind of made up for the small bedroom size. But again, for the price and location, this was a high value hotel.

Hotel is just one bridge away (2 minutes) walk to St. Marks Square. It is also only 2 minutes away to the waterbus going to the airport. Hotel is quiet on a tiny street between the busy water front, where there are lots of vendors and tourists, and a back street where there are plenty of small shops and restaurants, great for tourists to shop and dine. Hotel staffs speak good English, and are helpful giving instructions and information on waterbus and schedules to the airport.

Our room was very comfortable (#104) however our friends room was incredibly small. (#209) The front desk staff was very helpful. This hotel is most convenient for walking to St. Mark's and for catching the vaporetto. Just a short walk from the Grand Canal. Breakfast of sweets, cereal, breads, cold meats and cheese is included.

This hotel is in a fantastic location, literally steps away from the San Zaccaria vaporetto stop and a short walk from St Mark's square. It is in a very narrow street, but its proximity to the vaporetto route makes it much easier to find than other hotels that are further 'inland', given the somewhat confusing nature of Venetian streets. The hotel staff I dealt with were friendly and professional, offering a warm welcome to Venice and the hotel. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The area was quiet at night which made sleep easy. My only issue was that there was no curtain completely covering the window, which meant the room wasn't quite dark enough at night - this may be an issue for some, especially in summer months when it gets dark late/light early. Breakfast was included and was standard continental fare - not the best hotel breakfast I've had but a far cry from the worst as well.

This hotel has a good location and was decent. The room was so small that there was not room for our suitcases. The bathroom was so small that the shower would turn off if you turned in the shower. You had to turn off the water ,open the shower door & reach to the sink for shampoo or soap, there was not enough room in the shower for these items. Hotel staff while pleasant, seemed indifferent. Too busy on the computer to be helpful or concerned with your needs.

Very nice. Small rooms, but clean. Breakfast was good. Very good location.

Easy to find, just follow signs to S. Marco and it's half a block away. We were upgraded to their apartment a few yards away with it's own entrance and it was really nice. Breakfast was good.

great location in a tiny square just off the Grand Canal and St. Marks. Our room was small, but comfortable. Nice bath. Very helpful front desk.

Perfect location to catch ferry to airport and other locations. Easy walking to St. Mark's and other sites.

Great hotel, quiet, near water taxi, clean, great breakfast, friendly reception. Negative was the breakfast lady who yelled at me because I was full and wanted to take my croissant with me back to the room to eat later. She was a little strange.

Upon arrival at Campiello Hotel Venice, I was enamored to find it located within a small square, which explains the name Campiello! After checking in and being shown to my room, which was said to have a "special" entrance, I was a bit disappointed. My room wasn't actually located within the hotel, but to the direct left. When I questioned the the person that checked me in about this, he didn't understand why I was so upset and confused about the separate entrance. I tried to explain that I was a young girl, also traveling with another young girl, and we were concerned about safety. When my friend went it and spoke with another person, I believe the manager, he was much nicer and explained that he didn't have any other rooms, as it is a small hotel with only 16 rooms, and that we were in an extremely safe area-the police were even around the block. All of this being said, it was still a pleasant experience. Just make sure to actually contact the hotel and make sure you receive a room within the hotel and through the entrance. The room was a tad bit small, with a shower that couldn't be moved around in, but this is typical of Europe. The tiny square also had foot traffic as there were people from other hotels nearby and vendors walking through, but not too bad. This would also probably be minimized if in the actual hotel and above the square as opposed to on ground level. Finally, the location couldn't be better!! If you walk down the alley, turn right and cross two bridges, then you will be directly in front of St. Mark's Square and Basilica.

The hotel location is great for the price and included a continental breakfast. Ask for a room away from the elevator if possible.
