Well heated ( February ), comfortable bed, clean and good maid service. Just a bit disappointed that there is no restaurant - our fault, should have read the guide more closely !
This is a very old fashioned hotel. We stayed on a room facing the canal/rialto bridge, people walking by at 3am screaming and singing did not let us sleep. The smell of the streets got into the room as well. I believed we payed more than expected for this room. Breakfast was ok, same every day.
Excellent location! Definitely take a water taxi from the train station rather than walking- it's a bit far with luggage!
Had a wonderful stay and we were delighted at the size and comfort of the room. The staff was great with directions and suggestions. Would recommend to everyone
Old Venetian style hotel that is in a good location. Breakfast served daily was good. Right on grand canal.
We had a room with a view of the bridge. We had a blue room and it is exactly as pictured in the pictures. The staff was very friendly, and very informative. Over all stay was good and breakfast was the best we had in Italy compared to our hotel in Rome and Florence.
The hotel is right in front of the Rialto Bridge. The hotel staff are friendly, great breakfast. We had a room with view, was provided a complimentary champagne on check in. Room was very big with comfortable bed. Close to San Marco and there was a boat service stop in front of the hotel. Really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, definitely recommend.
Excellent location!!! Front desk staff is a bit aloof, particularly in the pm. However, the location and our room was excellent.
The Rialto was everything we expected and more. Their service and location were absolutely great.
Pleasant helpful staff, however displayed little knowledge when asked about ammenities e.g. hairdressers, pharmacy etc. Also despite the room brochure stating the hotel could book tickets to the limited theatre productions that were on in Venice; when asked reception were unable to do so. In addition despite Venice shutting down early each evening as it was December 2012 the hotel only had 2 english speak tv channels. CNN and BBC World News. We ended up watching the Grinch and various christmas movies in french and italian.
If you want to be literally on top of the Rialto Bridge and have a few steps access to the water bus (Vaporetto) then this is the ticket. Otherwise, your room can be up 4-5 long steep flights of stairs, there is no wifi or internet in the rooms, just wifi in lobby, and I needed an our or two extra check out time and for the first time in forever, was refused flat out.
The location is the best! The staff very nice! The room is more small that you see in the pictures. In the front of the hotel, you can take a trip to "the gondolas". In some areas, the water smells bad.
Beautiful hotel, staff was very helpful the breakfast buffet was very good.
This hotel is located so central that it does not get any better. Highlights are all in walking distance. The hotel room was small but offered everything we needed. The breakfast was more than sufficient. The Staff was formal.
Everything next to Rialto bridge is overpriced but it was really nice being right on the grand canal. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants right there because we heard that the food wasn't good and the Italians were actually embarrassed by it-- and way overpriced. We wandered our way into Venice just a couple streets back to get excellent food. Staff was very helpful, you could purchase internet time. Good breakfast buffet and a couple outdoor tables. Very comfortable room with safe, mini bar, window looking right out on Grand Canal and boat stop. There are no alarm clocks or clocks in ANY hotel room in Italy, they don't cut the pizza, all of the beds are actually two twin beds pressed together (crack in the middle), and you shouldn't bring anything you can't pick up and carry in Venice since it's not handicap accessible. We brought a hiking backpack which was invaluable and whenever we saw people lugging their suitcases up and down the many stairs throughout Venice, we were so relieved that everything we needed was on our backs! I highly recommend the Rick Steve's ITALY book. Rialto Hotel was in a perfect homebase location, buzzing with activity.
While it is expensive, it is a great hotel in a great location!
The hotel was in an ideal location, close to shopping and sight seeing. However, we were on the third and fourth floors and there isn't an elevator. There are no ice machines. The hotel is very clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
The best location ever, you can take a walk from the hotel and even get to Piazza San Marcos, the view is simply amazing.
Great location. Friendly staff.
Great location..rooms was small.. but it's Venice.staff was very helpful..excellent view from panorama deck !!!!
