Hotel Carlton on the Grand Canal

Hotel Sky restaurant was very good for the view at dinner. The food and entertainment were good and the service was ok.

Good location on the canal. Windows could be opened for nice experience. However, windows were not soundproof, so noisy until everything closes. Room was small, but very well appointed-Very Venetian. Bed and pillows were very hard and uncomfortable for me, but not my husband. Loved the common areas. Good breakfast. Good service with the exception of the bartender in the lounge on the roof. He was extremely rude.

My husband and I spent two nights at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast buffet was better than expected, and location was good (close to train terminal). However, we wouldn't recommend this hotel because some front desk MALE staff have very bad attitude toward guests, especially those who don't speak Italian. On several occasions when we walk up to one of them, they would completely ignore us and walk away to do something else. When we ask a question, they would speak to us in a rude confrontational manner. All other staff we have met at the hotel are friendly except for the male staff at the front desk. We would not be coming back to this hotel.

Great Location......nice room.......excellent staff...

Happy with the hotel lovely boutique hotel clean and great location , staff is helpful. Venice has the best pizza and pasta shops

Couldn't have been more perfect. Right on Grand Canal with water taxi and gondola stands directly in front of the hotel. Fantastic!!! Would definitely stay here again

Hotel & Staff -Phillip et al were super. Went to Florence on day trip. The City Disvovery arranged gondola ride + meal was a 0. No music or singing ..just a 20' boat ride. THEN 'NO ONE KNEW THE RESTAURANT WE WERE TO GO FOR 4 -COURSE MEAL. WILL SEEK RECOURSE WITH CITY DISCOVERY!

- Reality did not match the presented pics. - The furniture is very old & bad condition. - Hotel will give you back side room since you used third party website for booking with minimum service. - Breakfast menu is very poor. - The staff not cooporative & helpfull looking for any possibility to make additional money.

Nice location next to the railway station. We could roll our suitcases in without hiring a porter. Excellent breakfast buffet. Hotel was kind of far from the St. Marks square in Venice. The shower stalls in the bathrooms were small. If you don't mind small shower stalls, this is an excellent location for a family on a budget.

Great location for staying an extra day with the family after a cruise and before a flight. The large bridge on the way to and from the hotel is difficult with luggage so hire a porter and don't try to carry a lot of bags yourself. Clean and friendly. Good choice for family's with kids. Safe, easy walk to and from all main areas. Active safe fun area away from main tourist areas, but simple to get to. Shower's have that strange European location in the wall that makes you wonder who designed the shower, but adequate.

Overall nice hotel, great location and reasonable price

A wonderful hotel in every way. Our room was typical European size but offered a modern bath and an outside deck. The staff was perfect and the location on the Grand Canal was close to everything yet just far away enough from the congested areas to enjoy wonderful Venice.

Location was great. But rooms are really dated and constant noise from outside.

Hotel exceeded expectations! Very nice rooms with comfortable beds! Friendly and courteous staff! Very good breakfast buffet! Great location on canal across from the train station (quiet)! Plan to revisit,

Hotel was clean and service was good. Staff was responsive to my requests. Location was awesome.

Definitely will stay again, it was right across from the train station so much easier for travel

If you don't mind a little cool weather and grey sky, the best time to go is at the beginning of December. The hotel was the best bargain ever......the price was great for a luxury hotel, the location cannot be better, the staff was very nice and I will have to go back.

The location of the hotel is just across the main train station, Venezia Santa Lucia. The bridge is a bit steep and slightly strenuous to lug a luggage across. We didn't want to roll the luggages across the steps and add injury to the already deteriorating ancient and beautiful bridges in Venice. There was no kettle in the room and no air conditioning. But the hotel's location is safe compared to those on the side of the main train station. It was a good choice for a short stay.

Good for two nights. Short walk to Train Station and Bus to the airport.

Nice location good staff , Unreliable WI FI, Room average
