GrandStay Hotel & Suites Becker-Big Lake

It was ok for the price...

We got a two bed suite. Frankly it was really a suite in name only. The room was just slightly larger than a regular room with two beds as there was a pullout couch squeezed into a small area. One tv in the room, suites usually have at least two but since there was no “living room area” I guess they didn’t have room for a swhile cons tv, no microwave. Ice machine broken, large bleach stains on the hallway carpet. The breakfast was ok. We never had a problem with running out of breakfast foods but we heard many other guests complain the breakfast items were empty multiple times. The whirlpool clearly was overchlorinated. My father & wife started coughing & wheezing due to chlorine gas whenever the jets were turned on. My wife’s bathing suit even changed color because of the high chlorine content. It was clearly at dangerous levels a couple days. But, we were there for my mother’s funeral so options were not great for 3 adults and one 12 year old for four night stays. The room did what we needed at a reasonable price with no frills.

Americas Best Value Inn Clearwater

Quiet location, but not clean

This hotel is convenient to get to, but the cleanliness of the room was not acceptable. Sheets were dirty and when the staff came to change them the replacement sheets were stained as well, so they had to retrieve a third set before they were satisfied. Towels were dingy and frayed, etc. Was a quiet night's sleep but will not be returning.

Rodeway Inn

Everything we needed

We stayed here during a college reunion weekend. It was quiet and had everything we needed. We spent most of the weekend at the college campus so just needed a quiet and comfortable place to sleep. They had a nice breakfast and a refrigerator and microwave in the room, which we always appreciate.
