Staff were great! Room was spotless! Water pressure in shower was very good and relaxing.No sign in 1st floor where to get ice. Went to front desk. Had to go to second floor for ice.

The room i started in had no heat. I was moved immediately to another room but it was in desperate need of updare. The ceiling is peeling , the bed squeaks, the heat worked but was loud cutting off, the towel had a giant hole in it. The breakfast was good and I did enjoy having the restaurant open on my first night. They are closed on Sundays but that's ok as there are other options nearby.

Location, Location, Location. This hotel is in the center of sights and restaurants in Springfield.

I'd stay there again. Nice and modern. Friendly staff, decent breakfast.

The staff was professional. The free hot breakfast was good. They have free parking, but the lot is small. I had to park on the street one night because they were having an event at the hotel.

Gave us a very nice upgrade for our room when what we reserved was not availsble.

When we stayed, the hotel was in the middle of a giant renovation, so there was dust in the elevators and hallways. The ice machine on our floor was broken, so I went down to the 4th floor for ice, and had to pick my way through all the construction. The room description and our confirmation said that we would get a fridge and microwave, but our room had neither. Beds felt old and weren't very comfortable, and the pillows were weird, hard, tiny squares, not regular-size pillows. The cable running to the TV was too short, so you couldn't swivel the TV. When in the hallways you can clearly hear conversations in other rooms, and we could hear people talking in the adjoining room (through the inner doors). Overall, a mediocre experience, particularly for the price. We were in Springfield for the State Fair, so location wasn't super-important. If we return to Springfield, I think we'll look for a different area. Downtown Springfield is a ghost town on the weekends, particularly in the summer - it was hard to find restaurants and other amenities near the hotel.

A smoking room was originally booked on Orbitz, with the intention of changing it if non-smoking rooms became available as the date of my stay approached. Sure enough, a block of non-smoking rooms became available within a week of my stay. I called this hotel to ask for a change of rooms, but they said it couldn't be done since it was originally booked on Orbitz. I then asked if I could book one of the non-smoking rooms during that call, and I would simply cancel my reservation with Orbitz. The gentleman told me that would not be necessary because they'd simply switch my room to a non-smoking room upon check-in. I stated that didn't seem to make sense, and he again assured me it wouldn't be a problem. Sure enough, when I checked in I was told there were no non-smoking rooms available! My room smelled so bad that the hotel staff had left an an Ozone machine in the middle of the room on a table before I checked in. I ended up staying at a hotel down the street. I travel to Springfield, IL annually and will be staying elsewhere during future visits.
