Such a special location with excellent accommodations!

Very beautiful land and area. Right at fort baker. Interesting to stay in an historic building. But for the price I paid to stay in a two bedroom suite, I expected a few more creature comfort’s. Doors to close off the king bed room to the living room wouldn’t even close all the way which is basically why we got the room so we could have a separate area from our kids sleeping. Building doors are very loud, slam shut so with the old building we could hear everything, all night. King bed not very comfortable, needed to be replaced. In room dining way overpriced and they undercooked our food. Staff was very good and Murray hill restaurant was decent. Mostly paying for the setting I guess. I was also a little disappointed that I called ahead and requested to check in two hours early with my two small children and once I got there 90 minutes before regular Checkin and it still wasn’t ready, it was just sitting empty and they hadn’t cleaned it. Nice hotel will have a list of those requests and do their best to clean those rooms first. Especially when called in advance with my young kids. Front desk woman was very nice though and set us up toys and a separate area to wait in the lobby.

It is in a unique and great location under the Golden Gate Bridge. And it used to be the For Baker Officer's quarter.

Amazing weekend. Beautiful property, comfortable rooms, so many amenities and friendly helpful staff. Perfect

Eight members of my family stayed in 2 rooms and 2 suites at Cavallo Point. The location right at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge in Sausalito was lovely, and the staff was excellent and very helpful. Complimentary use of a car for several hours was also a nice perk. The major drawback was that that traditional rooms are in extremely old buildings and smell like they are. There is an extremely strong mildew/musty odor that we found problematic. One of the staff took me to see two other rooms, and I did change to one in which the odor was a little less noticeable. This staff member, Britt also went and got me a gift from the Mercantile shop on site--a room spray, lip balm, and bath soak--which I deeply appreciated. He indicated that I was not the first person to experience discomfort with the room smell. One of the windows in our room was broken as well and needed to be propped open. Additionally, although the water pressure in the shower was good, the shower head was fixed in a corner of the tub which sprayed at an odd angle and was inconvenient. For almost $500 per night PLUS a daily resort fee, I expected much, much more! The other negative was the restaurant. We went for brunch and not only did the order take incredibly long, but when it arrived, it was the wrong order! After waiting even longer, when our order finally arrived, my entree (a breakfast taco) was cold. The $80 pricetag for this and the salad my husband ordered was outrageous. We won't return.

Great staff. Comfy room. A little far from downtown Sausalito and the facilities are pretty spread out but if you are looking for a place to unwind, this is a great place. Amazing spa as well!

The rooms were excellent, restaurants are great, Bartender Pierre are fun.

Vintage location nicely updated. Very relaxed and high end. What a great experience! Would definitely come back. It's not for those seeking new and showy. If you want the Venetian in Las Vegas, this is not for you

Great experience and very relaxing. Would stay there again

I'm so glad I happened upon this hotel. Having stayed in or around San Francisco various times, I wasn't aware of this gem at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. The view of the bridge while walking to and from your room never ceased to amaze us. We stayed for our 15th anniversary. The rooms are expensive, but we found a "buy 2 nights get the 3rd free" deal, which made it a great value. We stayed in the Contemporary rooms and the hotel gave us a complimentary upgrade to a King Suite, which was so spacious and beautiful. It was so nice to be close to the city but then get away after. The Yoga class was wonderful in an old church, so much so that we went each morning for all three mornings of our stay. We rented bikes from the hotel and did the full ferry loop, over to Angel Island, to San Francisco via Ferry, across the GG Bridge and back to the hotel. Certainly a highlight. The whole experience was magical and the ambiance would be hard to rival at this hotel.

The staff was great, you could not ask for better service, you could tell you were the most important thing to them. Awsome

We celebrated our 10th anniversary at Cavallo Point. The location took our breath away - view of the Golden Gate Bridge and pier nearby. We loved our room with a fireplace and view of the GGB. Breakfast was excellent. My husband and I loved the spa - so relaxing and refreshing. We are coming back.

A historical San Francisco jem tucked at the base of the Marin side of the Golden Gate Bridge. Our room was in one of the historic buildings. It was an incredible surprise, as it turned out to have a full sitting room, a bedroom with a small desk, and huge bath room. They left just enough of the historic charm and details mixed with contemporary comforts. They provided organic lemon verbena soap and lotion from local Bonny Dune Farms. The included access to the spa experience was exquisite and very relaxing. We only spent a night there, but felt as relaxed as if we had been there the entire weekend. This was also an ideal location to continue our adventures in Marin, Sausalito and head out to Point Reyes. A hidden jem you almost don't want to tell anyone else about!

The scene from the windows of our room was amazing. We could see the bay and golden gate bridge from our room. The room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Unlike other hotels that either do not provide any drinking water in the room or charge ridiculously high price for bottle water, they provided Brita filtered water in the room so that we got free, environmental friendly and very reasonable quality water to drink. It might be a small gesture, but I appreciate the mindset behind it. And the service of the hotel was great. The staff were very friendly. It is definitely the hotel I would love to go back again.
