This is an excellent place to stay, however, one needs to keep in mind the location. It is minutes from the USA border and pricing in the USA is usually close to half of the asking prices in Canada and often for the same services and products. Had it not been for Wyndham rewards, I would not have been staying at this location. I travel for business but I am very aware of value for money.
It was the perfect mid range, passing through a town and need a place to stay, type of hotel. Price was fair, room was clean, the internet worked, and the breakfast had a few edible items. I was definitely happy with the experience but it was not above average. That's what I expected.
Although the hotel seemed a bit dated it completely met my needs. The room was cozy and spacious with a corner fireplace, sofa/coffee table, desk, TV, breakfast... everything I needed for my stay
We book our room by phone and the receptionist was very polite helpful and informative I would recommend this days in on bay street to anyone The rooms are bright and roomy and very clean The staff in the office the cleaning ladies are very pleasant and always smiling the only compliant we have is the breakfast everything was cold and dry
Although under going renovation the hotel was clean and staff very helpful. Was god to be able to walk to a nearby restaurant recommended by staff and enjoy the best meal of our trip. Breakfast was ample with lots of variety.
I was in room 1034. It has a loft for the bed area. I understand it is the only unit that has that configuration. For a single traveler, it is a lot of space and kind of a neat layout. Disadvantage is having to climb steps to the sleeping area. Also, the sleeping area tends to be warmer the lower level --- I like a cool area to sleep. There is a ceiling fan, but turning on the fan turns on a light that would be unwanted during sleep time. This particular room would probably be great for most families. A good hotel near the Agawa train station. Breakfast was offered early enough to allow plenty of time for breakfast before walking to the train. Parking is in a garage under the hotel. The Soo Blaster Restaurant has a large area with somewhat of a bar/arcade atmosphere. An area for improvement for the restaurant would be for the food to arrive a bit quicker. It seemed that the wait was longer than normally expected for the food to arrive.
Underground parking. restaurant part of Days Inn building so we didn't have to leave the building. Can't comment on the area as we didn't leave the building. This was an overnight stay on the way home.
The new restaurant was a nice touch. Good location for getting to the Agawa Train Tour. Only issue was waiting for the buss load of people the first morning for breakfast. The staff did a good job of handling the volume though.
Could not check-in at 7:30pm after a long day of travel. The room keys were not able to be programmed . One clerk at front desk with a long line f guests trying to check- in. The clerk could not reach management for help. Management was no where to be seen. Finally, after an hours wait, they gave all of us lined up for check in a skeleton key until glitch was fixed hours later. I felt so bad for the clerk that was working that night. She did her best.
Room was clean and quiet, frontbend staff were all great.the restaurant on site was acceptable . We would use this hotel again and indoor parking is a huge plus.
